Has AF ever mentioned remorse as a mitigating factor?
Remorse would be something I personally would consider as a mitigating factor. Maybe she doesn't mention it because KC has no remorse.

Or maybe if the DT doesn't mention it, the jury won't notice it's not there?

Age as a mitigating factor in this case is driving me nuts. It constantly reminds me of the little red-headed boy, I think he was maybe 8 or 9, who was tried as an adult for killing, IIRC, a little 3-year-old boy.

I like this juror. I think she could be fair. On a side note she sounds EXACTLY like my husbands aunt. If she didn't live in Wisconsin I would have sworn it was her!

please explain how she says she has no opinion on the DP but believes in it absolutely, on the AF scale, a 10?

you understand that?

Maybe she meant no opinion about it in this case, but she believes in it? Just throwing that out there. I missed it, so I didn't hear it in context.

Hey guys, save the article links for the Sidebar. They get lost in this thread and, if someone does link it, the thread tends to derail. Perfect for the Sidebar! :tyou:

Pssst...you only have 1 more peremptory challenge Ms. CEO... you can't get rid of them all!!!!!

JA on general VD:
PJ married 15 years, 2nd marriage. 2 adopted children. Feed froze!!!

Adopted as infants. A cook at Publix - worked there 10 years but before that was a daycare worker in MI. Hubby retired from GM then Publix. No one in LE, not witness to a crime, and never a victim/accused of a crime. No computer, not modernized (I like her) - doesn't even know how to turn a computer on. Makes quilts and Christmas decorations.

CM up on general...commiserating on hearing aids. More hobbies? Bike riding, arts and crafts - NO computers. CM digging in on the daycare issue. PJ states no concern or conflict with that. And finally...who are you? HATE that question...

'Old fashioned, friendly, kids think she's a great Mom'...she has a 2 y/o grandson. Not as much contact as she would like. PJ states no conflict having 2 y/o gs. Yes to wanting on jury - finds process interesting and would like whole truth. Press didn't phase her at all...no concerns on media. Normal process she feels. No cable tv. No greater weight to LE testimony. CM seems to want her to say something she never did. Q & A over.

-- I think the DT will strike but I like her.

crap, she wants to find out the real truth. here we go with them saying "it is not your job to find the truth. it is your job to judge if the Prosecution has proved their case.

This trial will be on TV, if she wants to find the truth, then she needs to watch it there. Judging based on the evidence is the reason for being on a jury. I don't like people who think they're there to solve a mystery.

Child centered most of her adult life and wants the real truth.

SEE YA!

(I think its a shame though)

ETA - YAY!!! I was wrong - no challenge by DT!

Sorry a little OT, but I have to ask just to vent...

When did our system so fall apart, such that in order to protect the perceived rights of the individual to not simply a fair trial, but to project the trial environment into a complete vacuum from reality, that we took away our communities rights to actually try and adjudicate the crimes committed within them (change of venue) and we stripped out the ability of a reasonable well informed well educated lay citizenry to be permitted to sit in judgement? (Voir Dire actively selecting for the uninformed, the uneducated, the ignorant and the true hermits in our society). Whatever happened to the presumption that the typical citizen, so long as they are not a felon, insane or a sworn state officer, is competant to sit in judgement of any trial at any time. You could not or were not supposed to call the jurors into question in these manners.

Ahh... to strike now or later? That is the question....

DT - no challenges. SA no challenges. YAY!

please explain how she says she has no opinion on the DP but believes in it absolutely, on the AF scale, a 10?

you understand that?

I think she is saying that she believes in the DP 100%. I believe in the DP 100% but don't know if I would be able to think of any instances off the top of my head that would make me decide one way or the other. I can understand that it is hard to think on the spot when you are on that witness stand.

Isn't it ironic that Casey is sitting there judging these people, but in the end, it is they who will be the ultimate judge? :waitasec:
