If she can sit there and do all her paralegal stuff, how can they say she has
brain damage?

Maybe it's like CM's selective deafness?

Oh dang I missed it was too busy writing and reading

I am still seated . . . and having stinky squirrel pizza for breakfast . . .

Interesting that CM just said "11 angry men" are out there......

THat is IMO a tell that demonstrates his chauvinistic beliefs. couple that with his comment about meeting his wife (his secretary at the time) before sexial harassment!
The name of the movie/play is "Twelve angry MEN" -

Interesting WS consversation on the last juror. Many thought he would be bad for the state, and many were stating they believe he would be great for the state. I believe, once evidence is presented to him, he would be good in deliberations. MOO he would be good as once evidence comes out, it will be intuitively obvious for guilt.

I think he may have been referencing 12 Angry Men, which has, in part, a jury of 11 people who think the accused is guilty, and one who thinks the accused is innocent who tries to convince the others, etc. It's an interesting play.

So the guy they just had, won't be the foreman. He's 5th alternate right now, with 4 strikes total before swearing in. So, at best he'd be Alternate #1. Of course both sides receive extra strikes based on the number of alternates HHJP chooses, so, who knows where that guy ends up. I agree, though, he'd be an interesting juror, for sure.

No, I believe the alts are random. No one will even know they are til the end

I noticed yesterday there were more than there had been. And again may I say as I follow this on thread alone, it is kewl to read posts that give opposite opinions one after another. Different strokes for different folks.

What gets me is when people say she is crying and I am watching her and I don't see it.

I can understand those that feel he is arrogant. I talk to very educated people all day long because of my particular job and the kind of clients we have. There are those like this guy who are highly educated, secure in themselves, and speak very precisely. They know what they know, and that's what they know. I think sometimes they are just so smart that they don't realize their tenor might be off putting. However, I give this guy a go because of his involvement with academically challenged kids. In my experience the truly arrogant intelligencia don't demean themselves with that kind of job, they are too good for it. Of course this is all MOO and YMMV.

My train of thought on this is like you see with some cops who develop a (cannot find the word) cynical view of people since they see a lot of criminal activity all the time. This guy has seen so many kids making stupid choices and it probably has made him somewhat cynical while he still can hold it in check with others, he inwardly is disgusted.

I hope I was able convey what I was thinking ok.

Yes I understand what you are saying. I can't outweigh this guy one way or the other as the pro column equals the con column. I don't know what to think of him!

I do think he "wants it" bad tho!

:cow:

I don't know Ws'ers should we go into detail tonight?

I gotta wonder if whoever is dressing ICA got her this shirt so that she could not be fiddling with the sleeves. They look pretty tight. No pulling them over her hands today.

Lizabeth Fryer, the attorney who just passed the bar 4/15/2011

Oh wow, I had no idea she was such a newbie attorney! Is she interning for Baez or something? Ms. Fryer, there are FAR BETTER attornies to learn from!!!! I hope she doesn't regret starting out of the gate with this DT!

Umm...:waitasec: ...just realized CM might not know Michael Connelly writes murder mysteries...

Lol!

There is also the fact that in almost all of those books, the prosecution wins, the bad guy goes to jail if not murdered first.

Also, could creep CM that the juror is too interested in the drama of it, and being one of the good guys. ;)

I have never seen ICA this animated with her hands

  • #498
Is ICA talking to or acknowledging Baez today?
Something about ICA got angry at him as she was walking out of court yesterday

Which doesn't make any sense actually. If DUI is an issue, why are these people eligible for jury duty to begin with? I don't get it.

IIRC, discussed previously = DUI is not considered a criminal offense

I bet Casey is one of those people that hates to read. And she probably hates people that like to read since they tend to have a larger vocabulary and can speak and present themselves better. Add reading murder mysteries on top of that, and there's the fear of a Miss Marple or Sherlock Holmes being on the jury! The DT and Casey can't have that!

No, that is not true at all. Casey LOVES to read! CA told the FBI that Casey read the Bible all the time at home!:innocent:
