I think Casey is starting to look nervous or anxious or trying to impress someone.

InSession just showed the F word and Jose's anger with reporters.........coming into court this morning.

You find nothing relevent to Casey borrowing a shovel a day or two after she claims that her daughter accidently died in a pool accident when she had shovels of her own in her very own shed? She had no problem breaking into the shed to get gas cans... why not break into the shed to get a shovel??

PRECISELY, Lola.

It's called "laying a foundation". The state has to show the chain of evidence related to the shovel as a possible means of hiding Caylee's body. They don't have to prove the relevance of the shovel at this point - they only need demonstrate that Casey had it in her possession at the time in question.

I have no doubt they'll connect all the dots later.

About the shovel.....
JB is going to say/imply "What's the big deal? My client borrowed a shovel to dig up Bamboo roots!
Hey, it COULD happen!"

Yes, two days after her beautiful daughter died in a tragic accident... NOT! She would not even be able to look at that backyard if Caylee had accidentally drowned.

You know what is really sad ... this gentleman was just being a kind and nice neighbor to ICA and lets her borrow his shovel ... and almost 3 years later, he is in court testifying in a murder trial ...

Sad ...

ICA has wreaked havoc on everyone she has come into contact with ...

MOO MOO MOO

Just throwing this in red herring or no - but in the pic shown to the jury there was a shovel standing in the corner - so why did she need another - I'm not being snarky, seriously trying to noodle this one out....

That was a pic of the neighbors garage

They didnt present anything .

I am trying to look at what the jury knows and so the states questions didnt place importance on the borrowing of the shovel.

An hour is all she had it ,not sweaty , acting normal.

What could have been asked is what time did you return home on the 16th. So at least the jury could compare that to when GA said he left and the jury has a clearer picture of whats going on in the hood.

Another beautiful woman. She looks incredibly nervous.

Ever the chameleon...KC now fancies herself a Judge in her black robe.

Can anybody understand why someone would google "shovel"? What was she hoping to glean from such a query?

The cost, the closest place to buy one and perhaps it was all part of the premeditation and that she had already decided that soon she would need to buy one to bury someone. Then dispose of it afterwards with no one the wiser.

I really wish we could see more than just ICA.

Is it just me or does casey seem like the cat who ate the cannery upon arrival?

Except the State doesn't expound on how the shovel was used, or what its intent was? Scratching my head on this one. The State contends that she dumped the body in the swamp, not buried it in the backyard, or did I miss that in their OS?

Maybe I'm just impatient and want them to get to the meat, but I found this witness to be a waste for both sides. JMO of course.

I think this witness was a must for the state to show what she may have been considering. They couldn't get too specific because they didn't have any evidence to do so. But, it still shows she wasn't hysterical, crying, or in any way upset at that point. jmo.

How soon after death does a body put out an odor that a decomp dog would find? minutes, hours or days? TIA

I have read that within a couple of hours after death the distinctive smell that they are trained to will start to emanate from a body. All deceased persons naturally have a distinctive 'musty' odor as soon as they die.

I too thought that the body was placed in the playhouse at some point. Maybe initially, and she did try to bury her in the yard, found it too difficult, and then put the baby back into her trunk.

I have to go back and read the transcripts to see exactly what date MK and TonE were in ICAs car.

There is a timeline also that might have that info........but I always believed there was something odd about the shovel. She must've thought she could bury that child in the As yard.

Weird.

Yes, GM...I agree. She backed the car into the garage, borrowed the shovel, with plans of burying Caylee in the yard perhaps under the playhouse? Ground was too hard so put her back in trunk. That is why the dogs hit back there. Smart dogs to pick up a scent considering Caylee may have only been there for a matter of minutes.
