Yes, he appears to be very cool and flip about Casey, as though he wasn't that involved with her.

He just wasn't as into her as she was into him.
She needed a place to stay and he was convenient.I don't think he really wanted a live in girlfriend.

I get that it is entered in to evidence, but what does publish mean?

All JMO - AL was not that into ICA. She was a bed friend to him and he used her to help his promotion business. BIG JMO - He only told her he didn't want children, especially girl children, to push ICA away when he felt/saw she was getting too close, too fast.

Wow he is going to be declared a hostile witness? He is just not remembering anything. This is not good.

Sometimes it is done during direct so that the Lawyer can ask leading questions. You are not supposed to ask leading questions on direct - the witness is supposed to tell you the story. So.. asking "what happened next?" "How did you meet her?" are okay on direct. But when you have to go past that and say "so you met her on facebook?" and "then you went to fusions" and all the witness is saying is yes sir or no sir - the witness is not telling the story, the lawyer is. This is an incorrect form of exam on Direct (it is okay for cross). So.... if the SA's has TL designated a "hostile" witness, the the SA can continue in the fashion he is. Doesn't necessarily mean TL is a hostile witness, it just means he is not being forthcoming.
