Hope this isn't a stupid question, but what is a proffer? TIA!!

Proffer means to offer or tender something for immediate acceptance. In the context of a trial, to proffer means to offer evidence for admission at trial. For example a party may proffer documentary evidence or witnesses in support of an argument.

Where a party is denied the right to introduce evidence because that evidence would be inflammatory, hearsay, or would lack sufficient authentication, that party must make a proffer of what the evidence would have shown in order to preserve the issue for appeal.

And Judge Perry ruled that all hearsay regarding sexual abuse claims has to be heard in closed court to determine if it will be allowed into court/evidence (= must go through proffer).

I know it's immature, but every time they ask for a mistrial I want to yell "NO DO OVERS!" or "NO TAKSEY BACKSIES!" haha.

On the bright side, I cleaned the kitchen, den, and bedroom while listening to the trial yesterday. Cut back my orchids and poppies, ironed every shirt in my fiancee's closet.
