Speaking from experience, nobody probably believed her. I know in my family we didn't believe our lovely little sociopath. Most times you just go with it to keep the calm. It is beyond words living with a person like this not to mention that they are family and you love them.

And there-in lies the problem with this family- enabling makes them worse.. teaches them they can get away with anything and everything.

I have always stated that if Cindy is truthful at trial I will stop discussing her harshly, she deserves credit for FINALLY standing up to her daughter and I'ma give her that but enabling is enabling.. it can't be ignored or denied- it happened. If this girl was held accountable YEARS ago this could have been prevented. This "family" is a perfect example of why children must have consequences and be taught about personal responsibility.

He will do anything for a mistrial now ANYTHING! JMO

I am hoping that Cindy remains as calm as she can. I don't want her exploding and causing a mistrial. My heart aches for her today though. I hope Lee is up next.

Do we understand that up until 6 weeks ago, Cindy's mind wasn't ready to accept reality? It took 2 1/2 years for Cindy to get here. It was painful for her to accept that Caylee is deceased. It was even more painful to accept that her daughter murdered her granddaughter. To accept that at that time says to Cindy, "You, Cindy, are a bad mother," which is another layer of pain. It's not true but this is what parents can feel especially in a situation as this. For 2 1/2 years, it was safe for Cindy to remain in denial. Her mind couldn't take it and that is the way her mind protected herself. Many of us here and people in the community and the media tried to snatch her into reality but the mind wasn't ready--Cindy wasn't ready. She has now arrived and is now dealing with pain on a whole 'nother level. It's a process and she must go at her own pace because this tragedy has the potential to take her out of this world. Her mind has to cope with layers upon layers of issues concerning this tragedy and on top of it all--if that wasn't enough, here comes another damn whopper of ICA throwing them under the bus. That's a new level of pain to contend with and it was that whopper that dried up that river of denial. The mind knows what it is doing. She still has a lot of processing to do and once she completes that stage, then healing will begin. Let's all just pray her through it.

I think the phone call home from the inmate shows several things, but two of the most important are ICA is a bully and that she has no empathy or emotions herself except anger and contempt, manipulation and lies.

I think this phone call home will show the jurors that she is a psychopath.
------------------------
Hi Frigga. I agree. I've always been confused between what defines a sociopath and what defines a psychopath. The two terms seem to cross at various intersections. I've also thought that ICA could be a psychopath.

Either way, neither of those two categories constitute grounds for legal insanity, as far as I know.

IMO CA will not survive if ICA is put to death...the jury might consider this after seeing CA's reaction today. CA just might be ICA's saving grace after all....the jury may have such pity for CA that they would not put her through the trauma of having her daughter put to death.

The jury might possibly think that, but I don't think it's true. I've always thought Cindy was incredibly strong, and I think she'll emerge from this even stronger.

My grandma lost her daughter (my aunt) and her unborn child to murder just a day before my aunt would have likely gone into labor. She was already overdue by 10 days, in fact. It was hard for my grandma for MANY years, and she was suicidal for a time, but she made it through. I think Cindy will, too.

You know what I'm thinking?

How lovely ICA goes back to sit in her cell have a lonely lunch and mull over the 911/Jail calls :)

I can just picture her sitting there working herself up into a rage, and she can't do a damn thing to stop the juggernaut rolling, rolling, rolling.

Maybe they will give her chili to keep her calm. I'm sure she has no problem eating.

Which is the very worst thing the DT can do coming off from those 911 calls + the jailhouse call from Casey. This jury now has emotions for a grieving Grandmother, plus Casey's stone cold look while it was all being played for them.
If they go after Cindy now, they mine as well bring a needle for the jury to fill themselves.

ita..

The trial thread flies so fast that I can't keep up and thank everyone for their posts and observations.

So, THANK YOU!

I agree about keeping up with the threads, there are about 20 of us in chat and it' instant and easy to follow and chat with others. Come on over and join us everyone!

The emotion that we are seeing from Cindy should also be the same emotion that Casey should be showing. It just isn't there. She is devoid of any emotion for Caylee. And the Jury will see it. Casey's ship is sunk. When LE takes the stand and they tell their story about Casey's lies it will be over. I think what will seal the deal is Casey's actions on the day Caylee was found.

The jury is taking notice of it for sure. No matter the circumstances surrounding the actual death, the child is gone and the reaction to that should be the same if not WORSE than what Cindy is showing today. Casey gave birth to Caylee, yet she sits there with ice running through her veins.

This jury already knows the truth, there was no accident- now they are just waiting for the evidence of premeditation.

I agree...Mason and Baez will try anything to get a mistrial...:twocents:
And to think ICA thinks she will get an Acquittal so she can get away from the parents....
IMO a GUILTY verdict is coming down...
Here are some of the highlights, IMO
Simon Birch's testimony
the 911 Calls
The jail call
the lying that Cindy testified about
Tony's testimony
The photos of Casey partying
the videos of her shopping...

Then to the above we add
Lee's testimony
Amy, Jesse's testimony
LE's testimony
and then unleash all the scientific evidence...

Sure Baez..put Casey on the stand to tell her side of the story.....I am sure Casey will perform the best work of fiction we will ever encounter in our lives:twocents:

I was just thinking that same thing as I let the four legged fuzzies outside for their "special break"

I was thinking.. too bad AF is not in the courtroom today.......

this is not going to be fun to watch beit CM or JB...

MOO

You know, I was going to bet a Thwartini on CM doing the cross, but I just don't know. Baez was wheeling in his "super deluxe calendar with new an improved thwart action" right before lunch - I don't think he can dodge and weave and readjust his technique to what just happened. Bill S said during commentary that if he goes off on CA on cross like he did to GA he will be toast. I think I'll go fetch that lovely marmalade I've been saving....

I've been one of the worst at despising and criticizing the elder Anthonys throughout the last three years for all their cover-up nonsense and downright meanness.

Right now I don't even care that it's taken them this long to come to their senses or how it came about. I'm just so very grateful that they finally have and that it was before this trial began. Otherwise this trial could be going in a very different direction, IMO.

Cindy's pain is excruciating and palpable and I have to remember this is all a new realization for her. I commend her strength and endurance through this trial - and through the last three years. I wish them nothing but comfort and peace and that this can finally be the beginning of their real grieving process and the path to healing. It's been a brutal last three years and it's going to be a tough road ahead. God Bless them!

I agree. Empathy for Cindy may be the reason Casey's life is ultimately spared by this jury.

Oh wow you're so right, I had actually forgotten that LE would indeed take the stand. So the state has established these 31 days, KC chilling at her boyfriend's place and hanging with her friends, then the 911 call where she says she's been looking for her daughter the whole time and gives the nanny story... then LE comes up and describes how the trail for Caylee went completely cold after ICA because everything she said was a lie. Amazing.

It always drove me crazy, the accusation the LE had decided to "pin" it on ICA, while she didn't give them one single shred of any truth to go on to find her daughter. Like, who else are they gonna look at? :waitasec:

I just cant understand where the defense came up with the theory for her defense. Its awful. Were they led to beleive the anthonys would go along with it?.

The DT got the theory from their client. Casey. Who else would weave such a ridiclous story?

I think at this point CA has been taken to the limit and will do well... they cant hurt her anymore then she has been already. JMO

Casey is not distraught over Caylee .:twocents:

What I find astounding is that all this information is only the backdrop for the LE Investigations. We havent even heard what the Investigations completed were, the forensics, the interviews etc....It is an excellent "Backdrop" for the jury to understand just why they did and thought what they did after July 16th,2008....

JB and his "Rush to Judgement" claim is going to sound truly baseless..given the jury NOW knows where the "Starting Point" was for them....

Yikes, I havent even addressed JB's Fantasy he trying to sell the jury :banghead:

I believe this completely. It took me a very long time to realize that the soc in my life was one and there are times even now where I have to remind myself that he is only telling me what he knows I want to hear and I have to snap myself back into reality. I never thought I would say it, but I really feel for CA right now. I was really worried about what she was going to do. I now have no more fears about justice being served.
