lmao He likes to say the word "yag"..........

I'm glad the jury seems so responsive to Dr. Vass. He really is a good witness as his testimony is very easy to follow. IMO!

  • #743
I pretty much love how everyone is pretty much dismissing JB. "Objection" "Overruled" moving on...

  • #744
Dr.Vass warned to slow down. Apologizes, "I'm sorry, I get excited when I know something."

  • #745
"lasers" !!! LOVE IT!

junkyard car graph (car in Knoxville, TN)-

(much much smaller peak) chloroform 5,000 not 16 MILLION Dr. Vass says you also must look at area under peak - for FL sample it was 400 Million for TN sample it was 10,000 - control sample typical of environmental samples (trace)

Calculus! I knew that measuring the "area under the curve" would be helpful someday -- at least that is what they told me many years ago :)

"Now what's cool about that...." discussing ground and excited states of electrons. LOVE him!

  • #748
I hope so, I think that was a figure of speech, not literal. JB would attack him on that I am sure...

I just think the jumping back statement makes a more memorable impact.

  • #749
OMG! JB enough with the objections!

he's not a physicist...outside his area of expertise...OVERRULED...Baez should just sit back, listen and learn....his client is done...JMHO

They collected the family's vacuum iirc just in case?

I know this was Saturdays testimony but I just wonder if it was a bag or no bag vacuum, and did she clean it up or throw away the bag. We'll just have to wait and see if there is any testimony

  • #751
"I get so excited when I know something."

"I like to say 'YAGS."

He's just too cute!

  • #752
What is "cool" about that is- Dr. Vass :)

  • #753
Dr. Vass could teach the most boring of subjects and still have a 100% pass rate.
Love him!

  • #754
Between JB's objections getting overruled repeatedly, and Dr. Vass getting excited about what he did and saying it was "cool", I am literally becoming giddy and starting to laugh uncontrollably.

LIBS is laser based. Laser creates green light 532 nanometers. Laser is directed onto carpet. Electrons of atom nucleus are "excited", when the laser is turned off, electrons go back to ground state and emit energy they had produced during excitation. The energy is released as a photon of light. Picked up by fiber optics and can be measured by spec. Therefore LIBS can be used to ID elements in a sample.

This guy is AMAZING!! I could listen to him all day!! Great teacher, IMO

  • #757
I pretty much love how everyone is pretty much dismissing JB. "Objection" "Overruled" moving on...

I personally think JB is objecting to get this into the record for appeal. He has to object for procedure. jmo

  • #758
Too much information about LIBS testing! He lost me a few excited atoms ago...

  • #759
Maybe Dr. Vass is saving his "jumping back" statement for cross....LOL

  • #760
Baez, if you had listened in your 9th grade science class you would understand about basic atoms. This is hardly outside Dr. Vass's area of expertise!
