"Puparium" is not in most folk's everyday vocabulary, especially JB's and ICA's! JB is practicing pronouncing "megacilia" right now!

Noticing that ICA doesn't look at all upset by the testimony of decomposing material, fluids, body, flies feasting, etc. - from the look on her face Dr. Haskell could be discussing anything. The words "purged fluid" didn't make a blink on her face. Now talking about the impact of heat on the process.
No reaction at all.

The girl is a true enigma, any other mother would really be puking hearing about filthy flies feasting on her child.

Clearly showing that the body was placed there soon after the initial decomposition in the trunk. Witness said it had been out there for many, many months.

LOL I think he's still practicing "iorn"

no doubt that the body had been there many many months - was deposited there as a body not skeleton

  • #226
Witness- it had been there since June, early July. Because there were a few blow flies present, it was not skeletinized when placed there.

  • #227
Not deposited there as a skeleton! Yeah!

  • #228
Oooh I don't remember this guy estimating how long the body was there...June or July. And was a body partially decomposed in the purging/bloat phase.

  • #229
i have no question that the body had been there for many many months?

can you be more specific

June or early July

was body deposited as a skeleton or decomosing

since there were blowflies it was not a skeleton but partially decomposed

still with soft tissue?
yes

are findings in car and body consistent?

decomposition had begun, early colonies had been excluded
body couldn't have been in the trunk for very long due to temperatures
could have been placed where it was found,

Body had to be out there many many months. Based on recovery the body had to be deposited as not skeletal remains. Insects found were consistant with body partially decomposed with considerable soft tissue.

I am glad to hear JB objecting, means he will be doing the cross...which also means (IMO) the States case will soon be made stronger! THANKS JB!

To literally play devils advocate for a minute... could there be a chance that JB does know that ICA is guilty and there is a part of him that could care less what happens to his client because he too has seen the light on ICA's guilt. I mean at this point, he is stuck defending her (right?), and he by law has to put forward some sort of defense (right?). His defense, however, is SO far lacking ANY validity that perhaps, just perhaps, he is only going through the motions and doesn't actually want his client to get off?
Please remember I am only playing devils advocate, just wondering if anyone has also had this cross their mind? TIA

OR, is he just a REALLY bad lawyer. (IMO)

Based on the bug evidence the body has been there many many months and was a partially decomposed body when it was placed there with considerable soft tissue.
BAM! Baez, did you hear that?

  • #233
OT - This is my first day to be able to actually watch testimony instead of reading about it at night on Websleuths- wooohoooo! :)

  • #234
Sorry, late to thread, but yay, the bug guy! ICA looks irked again by Dr Haskell's testimony. His experience, resume, and knowledge as an expert witness should skeer the DT sufficently. He has an easy manner and is obviously very confident in his abilities. A wise man imo.

OOo, Just ruled out a skeletal deposit at scene...the bugs found tell of soft tissue decomp, not skeletal at burial!

  • #235
Are George and Cindy in the courtroom, having to listen to this testimony?

(Thanks in advance for answering).

  • #236
Witness - it was left with considerable soft tissue. The findings in the car and the scene tell a consistent story. Decomposition began in the trunk (It was not in there for very long), body was then removed and then placed in the woods.

  • #237
Body was deposited with soft tissue. Bugs has something to feast on. Not a skeleton like JB would like everyone to believe. Thwarted again JB. JA just knocked that one out of the park.

  • #238
LOL here we go!

I hope he tries to write it on his big crumpled pad of paper. Complete with his own illustration! :floorlaugh:
