I’m on the east coat of FL visiting my family. We’ve had 3 straight days of drenching rain bands from the tail of Gamma. Even the dog seems miffed. No walks in driving rain. Poor little pup.

My oldest is driving home from Charleston today and it looks like she’ll hit some rain along the FL/GA line.

Tropical Storm Gamma leaves 6 dead in southern Mexico

At least six people died and thousands were evacuated in southeastern Mexico after Tropical Storm Gamma lashed the Yucatan Peninsula's resort-studded coast with near-hurricane force winds and drenched Tabasco and Chiapas states, authorities said Sunday.

Time to root for wind shear!!!

Tropical Tidbits

A tropical wave east of the Lesser Antilles seems to be forming a closed circulation, and while hostile wind shear is limiting the system, it has a chance to become a tropical storm as it approaches the eastern Caribbean Islands. Rough weather is possible in the region, especially in the Leeward Islands Wednesday and Thursday.

As Delta fades from relevance another tropical system on the horizon increases its odds of development leading to the possible formation of Tropical Storm Epsilon.

A tropical wave about 900 miles east of the Windward Islands has shown signs of organization Monday morning,

A tropical depression formed Monday morning in the Atlantic. The depression is not expected to enter the Gulf of Mexico or pose a threat to Louisiana.

It will be named Epsilon if it strengthens as expected. Forecasters say it could come a tropical storm later Monday and then a hurricane on Thursday.

As of 7 a.m., the depression was stationary about 720 miles southeast of Bermuda. It has winds of 35 mph.

It's expected to start moving northwest on Tuesday, and residents in Bermuda were encouraged to watch the storm's progress.
