4 infants found dead when landlord cleaned out rental home - Sept 2025 - Ford City PA

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

Police arrested Mauthe, who representatives from a nearby Italian restaurant said had been working there about 50 hours a week.

Ok but if her salary was not going on rent (eviction) <modsnip> then what? 50 hours a week is a lot of dough $

Good question. Neighbors were feeding her kids, too.

If she wasn't spending money on drugs, I can still see how her money would go fast. She seems completely incapable of managing life - and that is expensive. You forget if you bought something (or can't find it, broke it, lost it), so you just buy more. In a burst of energy, buy groceries but then not cook so it's all wasted and the kids eat fast food (expensive these days) when the neighbor is not feeding them. Perhaps she bought her kids a bunch of stuff like toys, games, streaming subscriptions to keep them occupied while she worked or slept. It's hard to budget when you don't have the skills PLUS something else is going on whether it's drugs or mental illness. Disorganization is expensive and a messy life is not cheap, imo.

Speculation, brainstorming. I don't know, in fact, how she spent her money.

Absolutely sickening. As others have mentioned how has no-one not seen her pregnant multiple times and thought it strange there are no babies!
Exactly what i'm thinking. And surely they found some info inside this abandoned apartment that will help them find where this woman would be, right? Also family members would be asking about their nieces and/or nephews.

Has there been any names released yet? any family thats come forward ? So sad.

These cases are strange, but she's not the first to have done exactly this.

I wonder what reason she will give for not just leaving the live babies at a safe-haven location. She has other children and knew what to expect.

She wasn't a teenager or college student desperate to keep pregnancy a secret from her parents.

I think that sometimes the frustrations we encounter with cases like these is that we are trying to apply logic where it doesn't apply.
This is SO very true. It's something my husband says often when I'm telling him about various cases I have followed. I often say, I just don't understand and he says, it's a good thing you don't.

It is very possible (even likely) that she had no siblings, and her parents were deceased. She may have lost contact with her husband's family as well, perhaps due to events that led to his incarceration.

I can totally see this going the way of Erika Murray. So many similarities in this case. I believe EM was mentally ill but not legally insane. I think this woman is mentally ill but legally sane and therefore should be tried just as EM was.

Possibly a long, rambly post, but I just want to throw around some ideas/get some thoughts out of my head.
- Was the eviction sudden? From the pics available, it seems like a lot of stuff was left behind. Maybe she didn't have enough time to move/dispose of the bags.
- Things like previous pregnancies, body weight/shape and position of the fetus can all affect how much a pregnant woman "shows". There's multiple cases, including ones mentioned in this thread, of women concealing multiple pregnancies. It's unusual, but not THAT odd. It's also possible that people knew she was pregnant but she lied after giving birth, saying the baby was given up for adoption, was stillborn, etc.
- Also getting shades of Erika Murray here. Three dead babies concealed in the house, multiple healthy living children- EM also had two additional living children that were severely neglected and hidden from the outside world. In her case, she said that her boyfriend/father of the children didn't want any more kids, which is why she concealed the pregnancies.

Did she take anything from the house or just walk away from it all?

Not certain I would assume by case overview, she was evicted and looks as if no resources or support from anyone because most-likely she didn’t want anyone around other than the man/men who got her pregnant, likely was in fear of letting the possibility close would expose her true self. IMO

From the photos, it looked like most or all furniture was gone. She was evicted in August, so where was she from August until her arrest in September?

I think when this kind of thing happens, the woman has psychologically willed herself to "forget" what she did, until she can deny it no longer.

Otherwise she would have wrapped up the babies and buried them somewhere when she had a chance. The mental denial is strong, but not insanity. I'm not a psychiatrist, though, so JMO.

Will the autopsies be able to determine how long ago the now-deceased infants were born? It's possible she moved the bins with bodies from a previous home, meaning they were not all born at her last residence.

Absolutely.

Fly high, little ones.

I don't know either, but KEEPING the bodies in the home and then leaving the home without removing them has to be a sign of mental issues. Even if she was hiding the births and deaths, she didn't fully hide/dispose of the bodies.

She may have been afraid that carrying the babies outside would be seen. Better not to arise suspicion.
Who knoze?

She is in jail now -- waiting to see what the charges are.
