She may have been afraid that carrying the babies outside would be seen. Better not to arise suspicion.
Who knoze?
I haven't seen anything mentioned about the smell in the house, but I would imagine there was one. For pregnancies to occur, I'm assuming another adult was in the house at least a few times after the first death. Maybe not?

Okay, in general I avoid giving my two cents on these. But here we go...

My theory for this is as follows, since it's obvious her self-management is off, which is easy to see from various photos and overall situation with children and so.
I was thinking first of the money, and with those hours, she should be ok. But would she really be? We don't know her wage situation that much. She could possibly have a lot of debt to pay off - her own, or.... pethaps the husband? All is possible.

Another point, that I was thinking was, as others have been speculating as well; her mental health, or even mental status. Is she bipolar? or possibly have something else haunting her mind and/or body? I would see unprotected sex as, for lack of better phrase, as very destructive behaviour. Is she seeking acceptance this way? or enjoys some kind of thrill it brings?

Or is she spiralling so badly, that this was her way to either gain control or get help in a system, which doesn't support her (in her mind perhaps) very well? Is she afraid, that people would had judged her for having more babies, while not taking good care of her boys? Her act of killing her own babies is rather brutal and even my stomach finds it sickening. I try to think this perhaps in weird ways, but I remember reading long time ago, that women, out of desperation (being unfaithful, assaulted etc.), might be more open to kill their children to safe them, or keep them safe - rather than ask for help and get stigmatized by having relationships of physical nature. But this was more common in older times than these

Who knows. There is so much unansweted questions, and perhaps not yet - the right question to unlock it all.

Investigators say they’ve found a fourth dead infant in the Cadogan house Jessica Mauthe had been renting after police searched it last week.

Moo..what is the husband in jail for?

Is there any speculation that the husband knew or had a hand in the murders? He may have already been incarcerated by that time, I don't know.

Based on the link from earlier in the thread, it looks like he's only been in prison for a few months, but I don't know how many previous incarcerations he may have had. I imagine one of the first steps in the investigation will be determining if he was the father of any or all of the babies

So, KDKA/CBS was correct in their article on Tuesday when they said 4 babies.

LE should check attics of her previous residences. JMO

During a police interview, Mauthe said she had given birth to the first child six years ago in her bathroom. She told police she passed out on top of the child soon after she gave birth and woke up to find it lifeless, according to the complaint.

Mauthe gave birth to two more children, at different times, in her bathroom, the complaint said. The first made no noise, and she removed it from the toilet and confirmed it was deceased, according to the complaint.

About a year ago, she gave birth to a second child in the toilet, wrapping it in towels and holding it against her until it stopped breathing, the complaint said.

The complaint made no mention of the fourth infant’s cause of death.

probably no point in changing the title yet to reflect 4 infants. I have a feeling they may find even more. :(

I wonder if the first was truly an accident and her body/mind reacted positively to that feeling of the baby passing and holding it

I need to go back and reread this thread. Do we know how long she had lived at the address from which she was evicted? Wondering if she moved the bodies with her at any point. Was she at that address for more than 6 years (when she claims to have birthed the first)?

Is there room for me on another planet?

These defenseless babies, at least one purposefully smothered.

It is a sad fact that the word mother is swallowed up by  smother.

Whatever happened here, malice or mental health, I grieve for those poor, unnamed babies.

JM was the defendant in a landlord/tenant case with a different landlord back in 2021. Possession of property was awarded to the landlord in July 2022. Though it is possible the same residence changed property owners, thus different landlords, it appears she was evicted from another property in 2022.

I truly hope they were all hers, else this situation becomes even more horrific.
