500-Acre Fire Forces Evacuation Of O.C. Homes

  • #81
Hi gang,

Checking in very briefly. We're leaving to go to my parents' house in Huntington Beach. We live near the bottom of Orange Park Acres and the ashes are so thick, hubby (who has been fighting pneumonia since December) is weezing and I'm worried he'll end up in ER if we don't get out of here.

Grabbing important docs and a few photo albums (better safe than sorry), and of course, my laptop, and heading out.

I'll check in again when I get a chance.

Goodnight all! Take care!

2036+ acres burned now, with a 10% containment as of 7pm. The winds have died down, as have the temp. The airpower has done a fantastic job hauling water to the front edge of the fire. Residents are worried about all the dry brush.

More crews have been called in.

I'm here, had to read through the posts first :)

Lilpony lives in Riverside County, I live in San Bernardino County, but I'm not in a remote area.

I've been holding my breath as always waiting for something to spring up out my way. I have to go to Yucaipa one day this week JBean, need to put a deposit down on some catering from that area.

Scandi, you're a sweetie!

I like Yucaipa also, know a lot of people who live over there. I hate driving there in the boonies at night, can't read any of the signs in the canyon areas. A friend of mine has a big beautiful house over there, but so far not much vegitation around their hilly area.

Nope, my daughter is the one that lives in Riverside, but the Metro area..........no 'boonies' for her :D

Hey, looks like she's cooling down a bit. That is a very good thing! YaYa

I wonder where they took all the horses and animals. They brought them to a park I think. Wonder if that is where they will stay for the duration of the fire?
They'd have to keep them tethered. Well, horses are kind of used to that so I bet they will be OK.. Bet their owners are nestled right beside them!
