Overstreet was visiting family in Putnam County the night Haleigh vanished. Investigators have said they think he is the key to solving the Haleigh case, which investigators said is now considered a homicide investigation.

Last night, I went digging. Hogue was recently released from prison after serving an 18 month sentance. Can I post his Myspace? (it isnt private)

That is violent, B. So Jo is into robbing people too? My thing is this, when did Ron supposedly rob that drug dealer, or was that a rumor? If this really happened....when? Was it before Jo got to Satsuma or while he was there?

many ppl use a card thing (such as credit/driver's license) to remove/clean the seeds from the marij b4 smoking it - when U scoop up the marij the seeds roll away from what U R left to smoke

I am trying to look up his previous charges, which I believe where felony for car theft? If so, had LE found any weapons at his residence I don't think they would have bonded him out as isn't illegal for a convicted felon to have a firearm?

I believe JO was a minor at the time of the car theft. I am not sure what he was on probation for, whether that was the car theft or something else, and whether the offense was as a minor or not. I am not sure if it would make a difference or not, if it was an offense while he was a minor. Seems to me if it mattered, they would not have released him, right? I do believe another person had stolen the car (referring to Sunday night's arrest) and was charged with that. I am not sure about guns...if any were found or not, or if they were JO's or not. He seems to like guns so it wouldn't surprise me.

hmm maybe tommy ratted him out to get a lower sentence?

If it came from Tommy I don't think his sentence can be changed if it has already been handed down. (Which it has, unless for some reason it isn't final yet.) That is why Ron's keeps getting pushed back, to make sure they get the best possible deal and he's done all he can do to help before he's sentenced. So ratting him out wouldn't help him sentence wise.

However, I can see another scenario.

Tommy - "15 years?! I am not going to let anyone stay out there, they are ALL going down with me!"

Then he gives up anything he has.... I think it would be more likely to be immaturity than anything if he ratted someone out.

Okay, so I read the title and only saw "8/08/2010 Police swarm TN home" and thought that it was Ronald's mom's house (TN) - LOL I need more sleep. Gheeez.

What is with all the drugs? Good grief.

Swarming Ron's mother's home.... now THAT would be surprising news! It didn't occur to me, because I came here AFTER hearing about the search. Otherwise I probably would have thought the same thing.

Ron has a relative in Putnam now held on no bond, probation violation. Must be something in the water.

In reading this article Joe was not the one charged with "Assault". He was charged with growing marijuana & possession of drug paraphernalia.

The other guy was charged with grand theft, petty theft and possession.
I did not notice where anyone was charged with "Assault". If I missed that please correct me.
Also, note that said that PC LE were not planning to interview Overstreet again after this arrest. Could that mean that PC feels that Joe has nothing to do with the Haleigh case?

J.O. a Tennessee man questioned in the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings has been charged with growing marijuana after police went to his house looking for suspects in an aggravated assault.

Joseph E. Overstreet, 21, and J. Blair were arrested Sunday after police received a tip that suspects in the assault and an attempted robbery were there.

Five pot plants were found growing in the backyard at the house.

In Feb 2009, Overstreet was questioned in Haleigh's disappearance and then left to go back to Tennessee a within a day of her going missing.

Flora Hollars has said she was told he took Haleigh but other family members deny she was told that happened.

Chief of detectives Rick Ryan of the PCSO said barring any new developments they were not planning to interview Overstreet again after this arrest. He has been questioned in the past but not called a suspect.

Joe Overstreet was Charged with growing marijuana & possession of drug paraphernalia.

Justin Blair Hogue, 22, was charged with grand theft, petty theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after telling police he traded narcotics for a stolen car that was found on the property, according to an arrest warrant.

Can I just say that I think this is a huge coincidence?

If LE felt like Joe was involved, I don't think he would have bonded out so quickly. We have seen players in this case held for a long time with really high bonds. Tommy's theft? Anyone remember how long he was in for and for what amount he needed to get out?

Now, here comes Joe's arrest. Not only did LE have the opportunity to search the house, but they had the opportunity to hold Joe for a few extra hours, fly up to TN, and do some more questions....but they didn't.

IMO, Joe has absolutely nothing to do with HaLeigh. It's a HUGE coincidence and if Joe was never brought into HaLeigh's case, we wouldn't even know he existed.

And can I also say: how stupid do you have to be to commit a crime with a noticeable car. A caddy. Really? AND, growing plants outside? Duh! You don't grow plants outside. You build a box and grow them inside, in a closet or something. Gah!!
