I forget exactly but I think he’s got some 40 minutes to an hour. For how much of it were they alive? What fantasies did he fulfill? Did he look for that bullet? My mind goes all over.

But if he never talks, we never know.
Abduction at 2:13 pm. Investigators testified that they believe that RA left the crime scene at 3:30. Someone who looked like him was seen on the road at 3:57.

RA spent more than an hour with the girls - which is the typical time that a victim is kept alive after abduction.

"FBI research revealed that 74 percent of children abducted and murdered were killed within the first 3 hours of their disappearance."

And what time did the white van drive by? I have a hard time keeping these timelines straight. Seriously.

ETA: I really need a visual timeline to understand this.

He may have had some challenges leaving the area in order not to be seen by the individuals who were there, ultimately forced out on the road where despite his efforts he was seen anyway.

My understanding is that they were mostly focussing South/downstream - towards the direction of Abby's home, since they logically assumed that this is were the girls would have been heading, if for some reason their phone had stopped working/they missed the pickup. All MOO
I wonder if the searchers had more in mind the girls had missed the pickup, were afraid they were in trouble, hiding, whatever, and never thought they should have been looking for bodies. I think that would influence their search.
MOO

ETA: Just read that the Fire Chief said something along those lines.

If as I thoroughly believe Muddy Bloody Guy was RA, he spent a long time on the north side of the creek with the girls before setting out for his car. What he was doing, we may never know.
I've thought about that for hours. My gut tells me he was taking pictures but it has been said in here his phone was not in the tower dump. So IF he used a camera he could possibly have made copies at his job at that time. Moo

The white van passed the South end of the bridge at approximately 2:25. Second visual is posted by @m00c0w and shows time stamp of location at time that white van passed nearby. First visual shows topography (corresponds with elevation of Libby's phone between 2:31-2:32).

Yes, it was in the guard’s testimony and Wala’s according to reports I’ve seen.
Guards, I can see as they’re probably not encouraged to make much contact with inmates, regardless of why they’re being held or what assignments the guards are given. I can’t see a psychologist just sitting there taking notes without asking a single wuestion, especially when a person is talking about suicide & murder. That’s like walking into a doctor’s office & him not asking you to describe your pain or symptoms. Not worth debating though.

I cut this line out of your post, as it simply isn't true. In fact, it's entirely possible, if RA's account is even true, which it may or may not be, but assuming he racked that slide on the bridge, that ejected bullet could easily have landed in his pocket, or even in one of the girls' pockets....now that would be a thing, wouldn't it?
Sounds like a stretch to me, tbh! But I guess stranger things have happened?

Thank you so much! That is very helpful. Question: Could the three of them have made it to the final location in 10 minutes? That seems unlikely to me, given the terrain and considering it takes 10 minutes to cross the MHB. I hope someone in the trial has actually determined if that’s possible.

North of the South end of the bridge is still South of the creek. It's hard to say how that was interpreted. Regardless, we now know that no one walked up the ravine towards the cemetery in the middle of the night.
To that end, and because I'm super behind - do we know if anyone walked DOWN from the cemetery (side, not specific location) towards the creek? Not moo - this is a question.

Another question I have is: what time was that picture of Abby on the trestle taken by Libby? And was that on the Monon High Bridge?
This photo was taken by Libby shortly before they were abducted. I don't have the timestamp, but it's probably available online. There are other photos of the Monon bridge that can be compared to this photo to determine whether it is the Monon bridge or not.

From the court update above:

Sounds like they did search north of the creek, at least they were supposed to.
There’s a relatively large area of land north of the bridge but south of the creek. I’m not faulting the searchers, but I am saying that the way the testimony is framed, it sounds like that particular group probably did not go north of the creek. And if that’s the case, it’s actually somewhat detrimental to the defense’s theory.
