Oct 13th interview?
In the interview, Allen — then a CVS clerk — provided an account of what he’d done that Feb. 13. He described the outfit he’d worn that day — jeans and a blue Carhartt jacket — and said that after seeing his mother, he went for a walk at Monon High Bridge Trail around noon.
Thanks; that's the first of any I've seen.
It looks pretty generic, citing sources for a lot of what he wrote with a few quotes thrown in later.
Do you happen to know who from NBC attended the trial?

Just out of curiosity I Googled: "richard allen wearing blue jacket".
lol... I got this message: "In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 138 already displayed." A good number of those dated back to 2022.

9 a.m.: Court resumes for Saturday session

News 8’s Kyla Russell is back in Delphi for continuing coverage of the double murder trial of Richard Allen.

Brief summary of Day 12 in the Delphi Murders trial

Threadreader by @MaxLewisTV, November 1, 2024

Delphi Murders Trial Day 13 Afternoon Highlights:

-After the video debacle in the morning, the defense called several witnesses when we got back from lunch
-First up was Brad Heath who is a retired exterminator
-He was doing a job at a building near the trails on Feb. 13, 2017

-The building is near the old CPS building where the prosecution says Richard Allen parked his car that day
-He arrived around to the building for the job at 1:46 PM and left around 2:06 pm
-He described seeing a dark blue, older car parked near the trails that day

-He said "it just looked out of place"
-He said he believed the car was from the late 80s or early 90s
-However, he could not say whether or not other vehicles were parked at the old CPS building that day

-Next up was David McCain who has walked the trails ever since he was a kid
-He says he believes he was on the trails sometime between 2 and 4 PM on the day of the murders
-He walked to the bridge and took some pictures before walking back

-He was interviewed by the FBI and gave over his SIM card but has never got it back
-He testified that he heard nothing unusual while on the bridge or the trails
-After him former fire chief Darrell Sterrett was up

-He was helping lead searches in the area of the bridge the day the girls went missing
-Sterrett had a lot of trouble remembering almost anything and had to reference his deposition several times
-He testified that nobody out there that night saw any clothes in the creek

-He also said he could hear people searching on the north side of the creek which is where the girls were found
-I believe this is an insinuation by the defense that the girls were taken away and then brought back otherwise they would've been found

-Next up was Steve Mullin who is the former Delphi Police Chief and now is the prosecution's investigator
-His testimony started off with defense attorney Andrew Baldwin asking him about missing interviews from early on in the investigation

-Mullin admitted that dozens and dozens of interviews were lost forever due to a DVR issue
-Every interview from February 14, 2017 to March 21, 2017 was lost
-Mullin also said interviews from April 28, 2017 to June 2, 2017 were lost as well

-They were able to recover the video of those interviews but not the audio
-I noticed a couple jurors shaking their heads when this came up
-Baldwin then asked about Mullin's recent phone call with Brad Weber where Mullin says he asked to speak with him

-Mullin did not record that phone call and admitted that he should have
-Mullin was trying to talk with Weber about when he came home from work on the day of the murders and if he drove his fan
-Baldwin again brought up the fact that Weber has given conflicting statements
-Baldwin insinuated that Mullin may have given some information to Weber about the van and its ties to Richard Allen's confessions
-Baldwin also pointed out that Weber's Sig Sauer gun was never excluded by the state police lab as being connected to bullet found at the scene

-Baldwin then asked Mullin how many people he thought were involved in the murders of Abby and Libby
-Mullin said one
-Baldwin asked him how long he had thought that
-Mullin said since the arrest of Richard Allen

-Baldwin then asked about a trail camera that was apparently within a 100-200 yards of where the girls bodies were found
-Mullin says someone was seen on it on the 14th and possibly the 13th

-Baldwin then points Mullin to his deposition where he said someone was seen on the camera on the day the girls went missing
-During cross, Mullin said he confirmed Weber drove his van home through phone records but there was no explanation of that

-Last up was former Sheriff Tobe Leazenby
-He was sheriff when the murders happened but is now the chief deputy
-He said he didn't have a major role in the investigation
-Baldwin asked him how many people he thought were involved in the murders
-Tobe said it was initially unknown

-Baldwin then asked how many he thought were involved after Allen's arrest
-Tobe said one
-Baldwin then reference Tobe's deposition in August of 2023
-In that deposition he said he believed multiple people were involved or at least two

-Baldwin asked if anyone else thought that as well
-Tobe said he didn't know
-Baldwin again referenced Tobe's deposition where he said the current sheriff and the chief investigator Tony Liggett thought that as well

-McLeland barely had any cross examination
-That wrapped up the day.
-Tomorrow, we expect to maybe see some of the videos the defense tried to play today
-ISP Superintendent Doug Carter may take the stand as well

Should be interesting! #DelphiTrial

@NewsyBarbara

Day 14 in the Delphi Murders trial. Sequestered jury expected to see videos showing Allen in his solitary confinement cell and during times he was moved within the prison (to showers or therapy). We won’t hear audio but defense says they show his deteriorating condition.

Allen was held in solitary for 13 months at Westville. These videos are said to begin after he’d been there for 5 months. April -June of 2023.

He’s facing more than 100 years behind bars if convicted of all 4 counts of murder he’s charged with for the brutal slayings of Abigail Williams and Liberty German.

I’ve never got a message like that! Sort of like google saying “just pick one already, quit being so picky!” lol

But I did find this, apparently testimony from this trial which once again leads to the October 13, 2022 interview, however this time coat may be blue or blue -

Allen, who did not seem nervous initially, told the investigators that he spent the morning of Feb. 13, 2017 at his mother's house in Peru. He left Miami County around 11 a.m., stopped by his house to put on a jacket and went to the trail. He wore his Carhartt coat, although he said he wasn't sure if he wore blue or black jacket. He also said he wore a skull cap or a beanie and either boots or tennis shoes.

This better addresses the coat color and why some scribes may’ve simply shortened the coat color explanation to black.

First, the state played the Oct. 13, 2022 interview with Carroll County Sheriff's Office investigator Steve Mullin and Chief Deputy and now Sheriff Tony Liggett. The video was about 90 minutes long.

Allen told the investigators he was wearing blue jeans and a Carhartt jacket. He said he had a black and blue jacket at the time, but he believed he wore the black one. Liggett asked if he was wearing a hat, Allen said that if he was, it would have been the "skull cap" he kept in his jacket pockets. Allen said he was wearing tennis shoes or military-style boots.

The pieces that have caught my attention:

RA placed himself there, then lied 5 years later about the timing.
His car is captured on camera.
He threw away his phone.
The van interruption explains the creek crossing.
He is lucid in his confession to his mother.
The DTH voice is his.

jmo
We don’t know if he threw away his phone.
We don’t know if the BG image was the person that uttered down the hill.

I hear ya, but I think we're listening so hard it hurts. Honestly, this group is paying attention to what dribs and drabs we get.

jmo
That is why you and others are not part of that group. I was intentionally vague so as to not offend anyone.

There are many posters here I have a lot of respect for. Thankfully they are in the majority!

It’s more complex than that. FBI agents are federal employees of the DOJ and they are exempt from state subpoenas if there are other methods of obtaining the info. Hence, calling Goottee to try to get the info. My guess is the DOJ would allow the agent to testify, but only if he’s allowed to do so remotely.
And in between AB’s snarky moments in her livestream last night, she revealed that the defense only sent the subpoena to the agent a few weeks ago and were trying to work through the Touhy process. I originally suspected Gootee being called was because there was a Touhy issue.

It was noted that Allen had a different phone in 2017, however, that investigators never found. He no longer had that phone when police came calling in 2022 after finding an old report placed Allen on the trails on Feb. 13, 2017, leading police to decide to take a closer look into the man.

Allen said he ordered Abby and Libby "down the hill" and intended to rape them, but he saw something -- either a person or a van -- and was startled, Wala said.

In one of the two interview interrogations he mentioned more or less it could be at his home and that his wife would probably know. He also said it may have been recycled.

Will see if I can find something, but I don't know if word for word would be released on the news as they tend to do summaries.

Found one!

I listen to yesterdays recap with Layer Lee. And when investigator Mullins was questioned and testified that he did a report on the missing/lost interviews he didn't put a date on that report. Mullins said he didn't know it needed a date. Any person working for LE has training on report writing. They are trained to write a clear and concise report. Because at anytime that document could be called into question in a court of law. We were taught to CYA (cover your 🤬🤬🤬)! Again my mind is blown!

Abby and Libby are heroes.
Iirc, someone else mentioned about Libby's phone being found under Abby's body.
I also feel if it wasn't for KS would there even be a trial? moo

Given that Libby's phone was found beneath Abby's body and the last detected movement in the phone's health app was at 2:32 p.m., a juror asked Mullin whether he believed the girls died where they were found.

"Yes," Mullin replied.

Wait…so now he saw a person or a van??

@KaitlynReports

The first full day of defense witnesses taking the stand in the trial of Richard Allen was overshadowed by Judge Fran Gull's ruling at the end of the court session. The Special Judge ruled against a second defense motion to allow testimony related to Odenism, ritualistic killing, and Norse paganism evidence.
