This one resonated with me, as it was by far the least ambiguous.

The call from May 17, 2023, was between Allen and his mother.

“Did Kathy tell you I did it?” Allen asked his mother.

“We’re not going to discuss this, okay?” his mother, Janis, replied. “We love you. You know that, don’t you?”

“Regardless?” Allen asked. “I’m just worried you guys aren’t going to love me because I said I did it.”

Just saying it doesn’t mean you did it,” his mother said.

It does when I did,” Allen replied.

Ricky, they’re just messing with you,” she said.

No, Mom, they’re not,” he said. “So if I said I did it, you wouldn’t love me anymore?”

“I will always love you no matter what. You can count on that,” his mother said.

Rick is never invited to go beyond “I did it!” before he gets shut down. He’s never asked what exactly he did or how he did it. That’s not proof of his innocence, as it is he’s protected by his wife and mother on advise by his attorneys no doubt. Don’t let him talk! JMO

I wish for this case we had someone like Brandi Churchwell--who during the Murdaugh trial created a huge spreadsheet timeline with all events and then added in information as it appeared in testimony to the timeline...both forensic testimony and witness testimony. It just made it so much easier and it helped point out some inconsistencies.

How many credentialed reporters (who were allowed to see the photo of the girls at the scene) recreated the image with distinct-secret-meaning-implied sticks ?? I've only seen one.

And, if these stick placements were so noticeable (as to be sending a message or signature, of sorts), I would think that anyone (art-inclined or not) would attempt to depict them.

She didn’t know about the box cutter and the CVS parking lot.

He tells us specifics about his day:
  • Allen said he saw his parents on the morning of the crime. He bought a 6-pack instead of lunch, drank three beers, bundled up, went to the trail and saw the girls.
  • He then followed them to the bridge, did something to his gun and thought that was when the cartridge came out, told the girls “down the hill.”
  • He said he planned on a sexual assault but saw a van, “got scared” and decided not to, crossed the creek and “cut necks” before covering the bodies with branches.
  • Then, staying off the trail to not be seen, Allen said he returned to the car and had lived his life normally since.

TBF we don’t know that a box cutter was used or that RA actually disposed of a box cutter at CVS. I don’t think you can count that as only information the killer would know, since we don’t know if it’s true.

Yeah but apparently the prosecution did not object. So what's her issue? MOO
The issue is the defense is asking her to modify rules, regardless of what the prosecution wants. I think this is more about her not wanting to accommodate (relatively) last minute plans because the defense is unprepared despite having quite a bit of time to prepare. Including multiple continuances.

That man approached the girls and ordered them down the hill, that is not in dispute. In what world does that not make him the killer?
I think that is in dispute from what I glean from Rozzis cross-examination. He insinuated that “down the hill” could have been said by someone off camera. We don’t actually know how close BG to Abby.

Not for a fact, but those wounds sound exactly like a box cutter to me; these aren’t stab wounds, and with a knife I’d expect stab type injuries in addition to any slashing (if any at all).

I have a very high level of confidence that this is true.

It is totally within her discretion to allow remote testimony. No one is asking her to change the rules.

As a former clinician and now someone who works in legal, I went into this case open minded. I figured the prosecution had evidence "beyond a reasonable doubt" which is the standard for a criminal conviction. I do not see the evidence at this point. I do not even see how they got probable cause to arrest him. The ID of "bridge guy" is weak. There is no physical evidence, and the bullet can be a match to other peoples guns possibly. His confessions were made AFTER he was given the case files through discovery which means he SAW photos and discussed details with his attorneys. He was clearly having effects from being in prison (people can debate the degree) but he has not confessed to anything that wasn't known. Why he confessed...there can be million reasons, but he did not give any information that was not known already. At this point the prosecution needs to find some convincing evidence because if he is convicted, I see this going straight to appeal. I feel horrible for the families of Abby and Libby.

He can allege whatever he wants, but that’s complete nonsense for numerous reasons that don’t even have to do with video.

Which is why it’s so upsetting that the images of the girls were shown but not these videos of RA- I don’t think either need to be viewed- verbal testimony is sufficient for public records- and just the jury needs to view them - in my opinion
Agree, the gruesome images should have only been showed to the jury. From all accounts it was horrifying.

Omg seriously? We all know “down the hill “ wasn’t said by someone other than BG ie: Richard Allen. It’s quite a stretch to say it was someone off camera. Imo.
