Hi myvice,

There is no such thing as "getting help" for a sociopathic or borderline child. I had such a child and took him to Stanford Univeristy to the top child psychiatrist and this is the help he gave me: Try to have a stable home without a lot of chaos. Perhaps you should remarry. You've done well so far, all things considered, because I think he will be in an institution before he is ten (he was six).

I could go on and tell you of other psychiatric visits, like why is he so obsessed with movies? why is he so obsessive? why does he talk to himself like he is two people?

THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO!

They can help you as the parent to manage the behavior and your own emotions, but that's it. The idea that there is a cure for everything is a product of a society that wants to fix things rather than accept that some things must just be lived with.

IMO as another mother with a violent child, Sandy Arias is just demonstrating that she is a good mother. she is sending a message that says, "Look, we are regular, normal people and this monster that we raised, well, we remember her as a baby and she was sweet. She had a great smile and ws so smart. We still love her."

My experience raising a sociopath is a horror story of cold-blooded attacks on his siblings, of rape and a complete unconcern regarding the welfare of anyone else. Imagine how well you sleep raising a houseful of little kids with a teenager like this. He ended up in a school for deviants followed by prison and then an early death.

Jody's behavior in my book is excused. She is a victim of Jodi Arias, just like the Alexander family. She abused her mother ALL HER LIFE and all her mother wanted was a normal relationship. She was baffled by the mood swings and didn't know how to handle it, BUT IT WOULDN"T HAVE MATTERED.

All she could do was protect other people. I did that fairly well although I failed to protect younger children from rape because I couldn't believe that could happen in our family. As a mother, you cannot, simply cannot believe that the beautiful rosy cheeked baby that you saw as perfect is, in fact, a conscienceless murderer.

Sandy Arias suffers from PTSD and is doing the only thing she can do - pretend to believe her daughter was abused. Think about her reaction when she first heard that Jodi was there. She told Detective Flores that she asked her if she had been to Arizona. SHE KNEW THEN THAT HER DAUGHTER WAS CAPABLE OF THIS.

If they came to me and said any such thing about any of my daughters, I would say, "Oh you are barking up the wrong tree, mister. My daughter? Are you KIDDING ME? She WOULD NEVER be involved in a murder! Sweet Lord you must be struggling hard for a suspect!!!" That's a normal reaction, not "Just a minute and I'll ask her."

On the other hand, there was a time when I called the police regarding my son and told them I thought he possibly had murdered someone because of a conversation I heard.......
It's a bit of a Stockholm Syndrome in a way...some parents I have met are able to extract themselves...but I have met a small few that just....get all sucked in and believe something in order to survive. It messes with my mind just being with those kids...I refuse to work with kids anymore unless I absolutely HAVE to. The adults are hard enough...those who have the official Axis II diagnoses. The kids worse. Gahh ok :scared: better now

To say he didn't like her. That is out of line as her att'y to do that.

Vigorous defense is one of the things that validates our criminal convictions. Guy saying that damages the process. He should be reprimanded for that. The Wilmott lady was terrible in court too. Wish she had a better DT - I would feel better about the execution.

I believe it was actually Jodi who told Nurmi to say that...it seemed really stages/orchestrated. And remember in the interview Troy asks her about it, and she says "I read about the Elizabeth Johnson trial where her lawyer said something like that....I think it's standard"....but all the TH attorneys on HLN said it's NOT standard, and Nurmi would obviously know that....so the only one dumb enough to believe that is JODI = she told him to say that.

Can someone point me to the newly released parts of the interview containing this ridiculous Jodi-lie?

It was on Geraldo tonight on the fox news channel. It is probably up on their site.

What! Where did I miss this story? $300.00?? Were they used! ...gross humor that has to be a lie to cover another lie...

I went to Google to look for it and it seems it came from Darryl Brewers testimony. Someone speculated that she probably told Brewer they were $300. She didn't want him to get angry at her for spending so much money while they were struggling to make house payments.

It's an expression of disbelief. Like saying 'I can't believe this stuff!'

True, usually jokes or 'sayings' are put in quotations, as you just did :), which is the common practice used in order to clearly communicate the actual intentions of what is being said, imo. It's also even more important when it concerns someone's moral character, in this case, Travis', imo :twocents:

IMO they defended her as good as could be expected. When it's her that goes shooting off her mouth, saying vile disgusting things, makes it easier I'd think to rest assured she deserves what she's got coming.:moo:

IMO she could have never had a "better DT," bc no matter who she had, she would have never relinquished her control over the process.

I didn't watch this trial from the beginning, but my friend convinced me to tune in at the end of her testimony with nurmi. Once juan started his cross i said to my friend, " wow, she sure is arrogant." After a few hours of watching her spar with juan i knew her arrogance would be her downfall. And it was.

Geraldo had the entire interview on his show tonight. What I know of it is what is posted here because I refuse to watch Geraldo.

Geraldo is on again in about 10 minutes in OR....Pacific time. Not sure what time zone you're in.

Anyone else watching CNN http://superusvoxtv.com/index.php/en/live-tv/video/cnn I'm hoping Beth gets a job over there and they start a new show with her, she is awesome. Great discussion on the trial. Show called Inside the Arias Trail.

I really like Beth...I'd rather her get a deal with FNC (she will be paid what she is worth) with Mark Fuhrman, maybe Mark Geragos, and some really good prosecutor (A little of OJ, Scott Peterson, and maybe this trial)...Just a thought. Beth doesn't seem to fit in with the group over yonder like JC and JVM in my opinion.

oh jeez! This nonsense about the picture of the 4 yr old is pure b.s. Am I the only one that has pics of my kids (from 30 yrs ago) fresh out of the bathtub nekkid with their hair all crazy because I fluff dried it in the bathroom with a towel and then it looked all crazy? And now I have the same pics of grandkids, doing the same routine. (Quick dry off in the bathroom by Nonny, then run into the front room to PaPa, to get ears cleaned and jammies put on). Of course I took pictures. It was adorable.

This accusation just pi***s me off.

What is she going to say next? Travis was an abuser because he stood by and smiled while watching a one yr old nephew or niece smear blue frosting all over their face from their first birthday cake???

How stooped does she think people are?

p.s. I never did the blue frosting thing, but I know plenty of people that did.

I could be wrong but wasn't JA's harddrive destroyed? LE weren't able to extract anything from it?

I don't know why but last night I was wondering if any forensics were done on all of her photo memory cards. Didn't she have a boyfriend that used the library computer to talk to other women.. She probably taught him that trick...

Come to think of it, for some reason I do seem to remember a joke picture of Travis dressed like that holding a Bible. It looked like halloween or something and it did NOT involve a naked 4 year old. I could be wrong but I'll try and look for it. That could be why it "scared Nurmi off." Because it was nothing.

If Jodi was so concerned about his pedophilia, and this picture that she originally thought was cute made her "think" after the January 2008 "incident" where she vomited twice (obvious lie, Jodi), why did she keep this photo saved onto her computer? Wouldn't she have deleted it in disgust? Or is the Jan 2008 incident a lie? Definitely a lie.

For some reason...maybe someone will know, Geraldo, was a lawyer, but no longer practices or has an active status.

I remember as issue where he made a remark with the FCA trial and it was mentioned he was a lawyer and I was shocked.

Did a quick check. Yeah, he was a lawyer.

Let's not lose focus, fellow Sleuthers.....I did some research (it's called "Google") today on what happens when an inmate at Maricopa County is on "Suicide Protocol / Watch". I've posted before about JA's testimony why she so-called lied to the reporter on Inside Edition why she said "No Jury Will Ever Convict Me Because I am Innocent". She tried to say the reason she didn't tell the reporter that she wanted to kill herself was because there was a guard about 5 feet behind her and that if her heard her say that, she would be stripped down and put in a padded cell.

We know she knows the "system"...It is true according to the MCO website. Inmates that are put under Suicide Watch are placed in a "safe cell" where they are stripped of clothing and put in a padded cell. I did find photos of such a cell today but won't put it here because there is a dead person laying there on a white pad with a "drain hole" in the middle of the room.

Here is a link to MCO Arpaio official website:

http://www.mcso.org/JailInformation/Operations/Default.aspx?t=CentralIntake

Snippet:

"Central Intake incorporates a fully functional medical clinic located within it. Doctors, nurses and psychiatric counselors offer a variety of medical needs for inmates processing throughout the initial booking process.

With the necessity to control large numbers of both male and female inmates with various psychological, institutional and behavioral issues, Central Intake is equipped with tools which enable the staff to maintain order. There are 23 holding tanks for the majority of inmates; this is referred to as general population. There are 17 isolation cells for inmates who may need to be isolated because of the nature of their charges, for their own safety, for the safety of MCSO officers, or for medical reasons. Additionally Central Intake has 10 safe cells for inmates with severe psychological issues and are deemed to be suicidal or homicidal. The safe cells are completely padded and offer no fixtures which an inmate can harm themselves or anyone else with."

Ah, the one for JA I can now see , as she can certainly be deemed as homicidal. :seeya:

That would suit me too actually .. our CNN is CNN International which means lots and lots of stuff that interests me NOT AT ALL .. :)

Nurmi said he didn't like her because he was pretty sure the jurors didn't like her, and he wanted to make sure they didn't let their personal feelings get in the way of doing their job.

I believe she had a very good DT. Really, when you think about it, they gave it their all and pulled out all the stops to come up with a defense for this killer.

I do not think anyone needs to feel uncomfortable about her getting the death penalty if that's how this turns out because appeals courts from here til probably Doomsday will go over the record with fine-toothed combs. There will be no execution if the DT was negligent in their defense.
