If it is the J we think it is, he is a first cousin.

aiobhinn..I am lost, help. The audio is so clear but I think I need more than two seconds to understand. It sounds like the word mother is being said. Can you explain, pretty please.
OMG!..TN says in response, "my mother was actually over". Oh, what a specialist could do with that statement...oh my.
With that word alone.
Please elaborate, I'm feeling particularly dense! tia

I really think that it is simply, "the cousin wasn't there" because that is how NG referred to him, as "the cousin", wasn't it?The problem is that we need longer to adjust to the voices. On the "cousin" tape I can hear "cousin wudn't there" but can't grasp the bit before the first "cousin".
About the repairman, I need more before that, because I can't just jump right in and pick it up what RC is mumbling. I guess my brain is slow, but I need a period of adjustment. Does that make sense? Thanks.
I don't want to go too far off topic, but usually when someone says the word "actually" it is a sign of fabricating. Not always, but used in the middle of the sentence, such as "My mother was actually over", it almost shows that they are trying to convince the listener of what they are saying.
For example,
Someone could ask you, "Did you have steak for dinner?"
You would answer,
"Actually, I had pork chops"
It draws a comparison, when in TN's case, what was her mother being there being compared to (in her mind?)
Sorry for the OT
You're welcome and that is precisely why it bothers me so much, in that case. I know a lot of people think it is only a word, but things like that really stand out. Thanks Badme-- I suppose then, she may have been comparing her mother to the other individuals who were named as being at the mh that evening? :waitasec:

Is J the son of DS? Also is Aunt Elise's ex husband DS?
Just a note on the 2nd file. What I hear is 'What the cousin? Cousin wasn't there.'
If you listen with earphones, it's a lot better than speakers.
Working on the name file again. Will take a little while? Any luck with listening to those, Whisperer?

OK, I will lengthen both of those at the start of the soundfile. Will take a little while and will post here asap.
