If anyone is interested in listening to the Jason/Lisa/AC audio file, I have resized it (38kb) to a tiny file, enhanced/cleaned it best I could and uploaded it to a safe filesharing site for download.

Btw, it only contains approx 2 seconds of audio, just the relevant bit.

If it is the J we think it is, he is a first cousin.

We sure do need a family tree on the Cummings side of the family. Didn't we see one on the wall of the Haleigh Unit at LE's headquarters? We need a copy, now.

aiobhinn..I am lost, help. The audio is so clear but I think I need more than two seconds to understand. It sounds like the word mother is being said. Can you explain, pretty please.

I couldn't pull out Teresa's voice. Can you hear RC saying 'Jason'? It's just that small section of the file. I can make a longer cut if needs be. It's no bother at all.
I'm so used to listening to it from working on it that I can recognise it.

Try out the cousin one and let me know what you think. Does it need to be longer?

I'm far from being an expert with this sound program. I'm just fiddling around, removing noise and amplifying the male voice.

-----------------------------------------------

Remember that RC's voice is in the background and I don't have the know-how to bring it forward, so to speak. So listen for it and let me know. :)

Teresa's voice is saying 'my mother', RC is in the background saying Jason/Lisa/AC ... in the first mp3 I loaded before this one.

OMG!..TN says in response, "my mother was actually over". Oh, what a specialist could do with that statement...oh my.

With that word alone.

Please elaborate, I'm feeling particularly dense! tia

I don't want to go too far off topic, but usually when someone says the word "actually" it is a sign of fabricating. Not always, but used in the middle of the sentence, such as "My mother was actually over", it almost shows that they are trying to convince the listener of what they are saying.

For example,
Someone could ask you, "Did you have steak for dinner?"

You would answer,
"Actually, I had pork chops"

It draws a comparison, when in TN's case, what was her mother being there being compared to (in her mind?)

Sorry for the OT

The problem is that we need longer to adjust to the voices. On the "cousin" tape I can hear "cousin wudn't there" but can't grasp the bit before the first "cousin".

About the repairman, I need more before that, because I can't just jump right in and pick up what RC is mumbling. I guess my brain is slow, but I need a period of adjustment. Does that make sense? Thanks.

Just a note on the 2nd file. What I hear is 'What the cousin? Cousin wasn't there.'
If you listen with earphones, it's a lot better than speakers.

Working on the name file again. Will take a little while? Any luck with listening to those, Whisperer?

--------------------------------------------------------

OK, I will lengthen both of those at the start of the soundfile. Will take a little while and will post here asap.

I really think that it is simply, "the cousin wasn't there" because that is how NG referred to him, as "the cousin", wasn't it?

I did use my headphones, it's just too quick at the beginning for me.

Thanks Badme-- I suppose then, she may have been comparing her mother to the other individuals who were named as being at the mh that evening? :waitasec:

You're welcome and that is precisely why it bothers me so much, in that case. I know a lot of people think it is only a word, but things like that really stand out.

The way TN says "my mother was actually there that night", it sounds like no one else was "actually there", not the A/C guy, nor the cousin, or Tommy and his kids. Also, actually is an unnecessary word if all the people were there. Unnecessary words have important meanings in statement analysis, signifying the person isn't being truthful in many instances.

"Actually" could also compare to Ron's statement that the "cousin" was there-- sort of draws the focus away and challenges his interruption at the same time.

BBM

Maybe the aunt. Maybe TN (in her mind) was justifiing the reason for GMSykes being there with the Aunt. IMO, GMSykes was there to accompany the Aunt and not the other way around. But because they wanted the Aunts presence omitted they had to justify why GMS was there, that's where the laundry story originated from. GMS needed a reason for being there, the Aunt already had a reason-to see about Haleigh, does that make sense?

Is J the son of DS? Also is Aunt Elise's ex husband DS?

I wish I had my research but I just came across a note I made and I have Leisa married to a Sykes in 1996.

I will have to research uncle D. It has been awhile..

Thank you for taking the time to do this. I still hear the same things I did (Jason and the cousin wunnit there) on your smaller snippets.

I use these earbuds, $10 at the Sony site (also $10 at Wal-Mart or Staples where I have previously purchased them) and they put out excellent sound!
