... and a good reason to fly into Vegas. No ATM use and a quick trip to Texas.

Although I am still questioning if he did fly at all. There was that couple of days between the ATM use in Anchorage and Arizone - enough time to drive.

I think we will get news some time this week. I'd love to go through all bank robberies and compare photos.

Okay, thanks. No sheriff's departments? I could swear that I've seen movies or read books based in Alaska and the LE in them is a sheriff or deputy.

I thought I saw that too. I'm really confused with the criminal justice system in AK. It's so different from the 48. I guess it would have to be with as huge & diverse Alaska is.

They have boroughs and I think the richer boroughs have a department but mostly just local. Alaskan public safety folks fill the gaps from memory.

Anchorage is a big city TxLady. I thought the same thing as you bc in the beginning people kept saying "like a small town where everybody knows everybody", but it's actually large. There's over 200,000 people that live there, maybe even closer to 300,000. It's the size of Orlando, FL.

Thanks. I don't consider a town of 200,000 a small town, and I've seen that comment on many articles, that it was a small town. Good grief, my hometown is between 2000 and 2500 pop. THAT is a small town!
But, still... unless it's a city the size of NYC, some LE agencies don't have a dept. devoted just to kidnappings. It's usually lumped in with some other major crime units, so that was my point.

I do hope you get there! I have been there for all 4 seasons and loved everyone of them.

APD have 500 employees - that is a pretty decent sized department.

"The largest police agency in Alaska, with over 500 employees including nearly 400 sworn personnel serving over 260,000 residents."

Have a look at King Cove PD in the picture lol

Cant sleep now!!

What if person A is IK that makes sense say your card is taking and of course you would see yourself take it at 3 in the morning and you would have no need to cancel that card or dispose of it and you would have the pin!!

I think it's important to note that he took $1000 out of the ATM before leaving Anchorage and then popped up again in Arizona in a week.

$1,000 is enough to get you to Arizona from Anchorage and a week is enough time to drive there.

But why wouldn't he use the ATM card anywhere in between?

Good idea. He wears the mask to make it look like the burglar was doing it.

Well, we have his address 2456 Spurr Lane. I'll see if I can find a report of car break in during the month of Feb. Feel free to help search if you can't sleep :)

There are no counties or sheriffs or any of that in Alaska. If you saw it in a movie or a book, they got it wrong.

The way the system works here is you have local cops and then state troopers. If a crime occurs in a city area then it is usually within the jurisdiction of the local cops. If it occurs anywhere else it's in the jurisdiction of the troopers. The troopers' jurisdiction is quite extensive as it includes all the little towns and villages that do not have their own police force.

When people say that Anchorage is a "small town" they mean that there are typically not a lot of degrees of separation between people. If two people have lived in Anchorage a while, you should be able to find a common link between them very easily. Because even though there are over 200,000 people here, it's the only substantial city in the state so in a lot of ways it feels smaller (you don't have people passing through from a ton of other Alaskan cities or on the interstate, for example).

Just thinking.. if person A is israel keyes that said he's truck was broke into on the same night and the card was taking by a man wearing a mask, glove hoodie shirt you know everything he had on at the time of the kidnapping so then he looks like a victim not a suspect..

This makes more sense of him having the dam pin

A person can report their card being compromised, and the bank will reimburse your account for your loss. If you use a disguise to make withdrawals, not only do you get the money from the withdrawal, but you also get the money back from the bank. It's like double dipping.

Agree with AK907 too.
