Been on vacation, trying to catch up.

Okay, I have a theory and it ties into why LE refused to release the video from day 1. Perhaps in addition to the kidnapping, the security footage also picked up Keyes burglarizing a vehicle in the same parking lot. Notice how closely the description of him matches the description of kidnapping video as well. Perhaps "person A" is referred to as such because they are a conglomeration of the footage, the actual victim, the police, etc.

They went out of their way to say that he was armed and has "obscured" himself from being identified. Is it possible both of these incidents took place at the same time???

It would explain why releasing the video would compromise hunting him down. They could have been just praying he would use that ATM card and were just waiting. As to how he could have gotten the PIN, that part I don't know. Either he already had that info ahead of time or he got it from Sam.

Otherwise the story of someone just happening to note a person ransacking their car, failing to report it and then letting multiple withdrawals occur sounds too farfetched.

Opinions?

Is it correct that in the first two ATM withdrawals that occurred after the debit card was stolen(2/2/12) that the person withdrawing the funds DID NOT wear a disguise? This would have been the two transactions on 2-28 and on 2-29 in ALASKA totaling $1000.. if this is true does anyone have any ideas on how or why that occurred that fits with any of the present theories?

  • #283
Except in this case the owner of the vehicle that was being rummaged through gave a perfect description of Samantha's abductor, & le already had the disguise info in their paperwork. So maybe le put 2 & 2 together & decided to follow it as a lead that connects both cases.

Depends when the card was reported stolen. If Person A reported it straight away then Samantha hadn't been reported missing as yet.

If he arrived Friday, wouldn't he have been in front of the Judge Saturday or at the latest today?

LE was vague on just when the card was reported missing. I know it was days later. Why would that be?

Just thought id clear this up, as much as I can, if anyone else from AK knows any better, chime on in. Regarding weed being legal, it has been legalized in the state of Alaska, but you can still get busted for it. A cop friend of mine explained it like this federally its illegal( troopers work for the feds), state its legal, municipalty of anchorage its illegal. Prosecution all depends on where you get caught, who catches you, and how much money you have for an attorney. People still get fined, sometimes arrested, for marijuana, not even large quantities, in AK.

I have no first hand experience with this, just know of some people who've been busted, and asked a cop :) , who could be wrong himself, but I do know you can get in trouble even though its been legalized in the state.

If I call the police and say my card was stolen they take my info down and thats it.. I never call and cancel the card...

The card was reported before SK was Reported missing so he's covering Tracks someone broke in to my truck fits the same description as in the video for SK APD watch's the account and see's the card being used they follow it for several days and realize it's IK,,

Like every one has said who the hell is up looking out the window at 3 in the morning and does nothing about someone breaking into there truck and top it off they got the pin and to top it off some more to be able to see the person(mask and all) that just happens to be the one that is GOING to be wanted for kidnapping..

Omgosh you're right! That's right Sam wasn't reported missing til the 2nd, right? Or no? Maybe she was reported missing but it hasn't been made available to the public... But the kidnap theory didn't arise til the Duncan's saw the surveillance tape & then called the cops to see.

When exactly was the car breakin reported? Maybe that guy didn't realize his card was missing til sometime after, therefore maybe there were 2 calls to le: 1 call to report the burglar rummaging through his vehicle and then 1 subsequent call later when he realized his debit card was missing?

Maybe?

Also, for a burglar to specifically rummage through this guys car, dis he know there would be a bank card in it? I mean, did he only specifically rob this guy or did ge rummage through other nearby cars as well?

Pin? I'm wondering if you still need a pin if you choose credit instead of debit from checking or savings? When you choose credit, it automatically pulls from checking. Just wondering...

Bessie, remember that Craig's List link I asked if I could post? It was at the beginning of this case... I just tried to pull it up again but it's an old broken link now. I didn't screencap it. A person posted at the beginning of February a Thank You to the 2 guys in a white pickup that helped her/him to get up a hill to her home. This person came back down to help the 2 guys in the white pickup out from being stuck, only to find them gone. These guys had a shovel & gravel in the back of the truck. It happened on the 1st or 2nd of Feb. It was posted in the rants & raves section of CL. I just checked & now it only goes back to Feb 9 (as of today).

Wouldn't it be ironic...

Jersey,

Found a Cache of the Post through Bing. Here it is attached. The full message is on the right square.

I am sorry really to confuse you guys its probably nothing i was just thinking as i was trying to nap about how the hell he knows the pin and the ways he could know it and i thought well if it was he's card he would know the pin so that got me to thinking he called in and made a false report about the card being stolen.

again sorry

Are you kidding me? Sorry? Why? I love the way you think! Keeps us all on our toes & gives us all a chance to delve into another facet that could pan out or not... Don't you dare be sorry!

There are a lot of states that will over look a possession charge if it looks purely for person use, even a plant in the house can be overlooked. They take it off you but no fine.

We don't know when the card was reported missing to police yet.

You still need a PIN to access an ATM. I know at home you can withdraw funds from an ATM from a credit card, can you do that here? I have never done it.

I still don't understand, even if person A, called the cops right away after seeing his vehicle being robbed, the cops hadn't seen the coffee shop video yet, so they couldn't make the clothing connection. He may have waited, read the report about the abduction video, then reported it, but that doesn't explain why he wouldn't have cancelled the card right away, after being robbed. My car has been broken into 3 times in the last year and a half in a "nice neighborhood" in anchorage, I didn't call the cops, in my mind what were they gonna do?? Nothing was stolen, though, not even my cds (i was kind of insulted!). :)

I think Person A knows Keyes quite well. And only reported his card stolen when asked by LE why Keyes was using his card.

Still don't know how Samantha ties in.

I think you can run a card as credit at a business, but I've never seen that option on an ATM machine

Hi akmama! We have links to laws in AK & in specific Anchorage I believe in the first thread which in fact states it's legal up to a certain amount. It's only illegal in being over that amount and to selling it. You couldn't smoke a joint walking down the street but you can in the privacy of your own home. Distribution and/or sale is illegal but you could legally grow your own up to a certain amount. Definitely legal. I couldn't believe it when I first read it, but it's true. Then again, call me crazy bc I don't even smoke ciggies, but I think weed being illegal is ridiculous bc look at what all these greedy med docs did to our country by legally subscribing known addictive mind & body altering narcotics to our citizens. It's sick.

Lol about your CDs!

I agree BUT it would make sense if he didn't realize ge left his debit card in his car... Alot of people don't use a debit card on a daily basis. I do & it gets on my husband's nerves! :D Anyway, maybe this guy didn't realize til sometime after the burglary that his card was missing bc he had no use for it. When his need for it arose, he realized he couldn't find it then a lightbulb went off & he thought pffft musta left the card in the car after it's last use...

Maybe?
