“In a Tuesday night update, police said Russell went to Target after leaving The Colonnade and bought snacks.”

The Colonnade is the location of the Taziti restaurant.
I think the spa that she works in is also at the colonnade. So she would have already been there. Doesn’t necessarily mean she also went to the restaurant

To me, it sounds like they know exactly what happened.
ref: The employers statement.

“We understand there are many posts on social media claiming certain information to be true. Some items are factual while others are not“Please rest assured that the Hoover Police Department is working around the clock…
I am curious as to why the Spa put out a statement. Do employers normally make statements under circumstances like this, especially since she is now safe? I could understand a "We are thrilled our co-worker, ? ?, has been found safe and is home recovering from this ordeal with her family, etc..."

i feel like the best thing Carlee and her family could do would be to get a lawyer and go talk with the police... ASAP.
Very much agree.

I'm on the fence on this. Ordinarily, I'd agree NEVER talk to LE if you're accused of a crime. But this situation is different. It may be that the longer she waits to speak to police, the worse the outcome might be for her, as she's continuing to soak up man hours for a non-case. (provided she wasn't actually abducted.) Also, the longer this goes on, if she wasn't abducted, the more shame she'll feel (presumably) and the more her name will be out there permanently attached to this situation. It could impact future employment and other opportunities. JMOO
I think Hoover LE would like to have this all go away quietly. I think they would show extreme consideration and compassion and let her get the help she needs if she comes clean. I think last night they let her know that they have the facts and that they will go public with it at 2:30 if she doesn't fess up. The tone of the PC probably depends on that. That's justified because would save them a lot time and all of us a lot of $$. Avoiding discrimination accusations is probably also a consideration.

So.. .Harperville PD took down the post about their contact with her. I wonder if it was made as a way to communicate something to her.
I think that was just PR. That's a notorious speed trap town and I think they saw an opportunity to improve their image. There's too much of that _____ these days. JMO

If I were a sex trafficker or kidnapper, my method of choice would NOT be to unleash a child on a highway as a lure.

A toddler would be very apt to run onto the highway, so from the point of view of a trafficker or kidnapper, you lose control of your “bait.” The alternative would be to linger at the side of the highway holding the child’s hand until the last second, but then of course the child would not be ”alone” on the highway.

I won’t be able to watch the press conference until later today but I’m very eager to get some closure from LE.

I want to restate that no matter the truth, I’m thankful Carlee is alive.

Impatiently awaiting the PC. Hopefully it will clear up a whole bunch of stuff.
Does anyone know where it will be televised? Maybe Court Tv?

I don’t think they’ve said she’s not cooperating
I believe the point here is that on July 15, she was taken to the hospital, evaluated, and released, and four days later -- still radio silence. What could be more important than talking to police since "walking home" to her parent's house?

Has it been confirmed that six carloads of people showed up at RRI after the hoax text from Carlee? And that the family went to Atlanta after getting a tip that she was there?
I cannot say what I would do in her parents’ situation, but it is hard for me to believe that LE would have advised the family to go to RRI or Atlanta. Based on the alleged circumstances of her disappearance, she would presumably be in grave danger and it would not be safe for anyone other than LE to handle her rescue. It’s almost like the parents were trying to get to her before LE did.
What hoax text from Carlee are you referring to?

Apparently, there was no toddler. LE could not locate a lost or missing toddler.

I cannot imagine this grown child being able to handle the pressure due to publicity focused upon her. In fact, if I were her parents by this point, Carlee would have had an attorney yesterday even tho she's not guilty of any crimes, that we are aware of at this time. Even the innocent need protection of their rights and liberties.
Idk… maybe misdemeanor For the false 911 call.

Doesn't she also work there?

She worked here:

“She was on her way home from her job at the Woodhouse Day Spa in the Summit, stopped to get food at The Colonnade and was about 10 minutes from her house, according to her parents, Talitha and Carlos Russell.”

I wish I was better at maps but this is what google tells me. From her work she‘d have crossed over i-459 to get to the restaurant, about a 5 minute drive. Then the Target is on that same side, about another 6 minute drive away.

Maybe they’ll arrest her. Then will she talk? No doubt only with an attorney. Which of course, would actually not be a bad idea. JMO

Appears she’s truly become unresponsive.

What exactly is a "grown child?" Do you mean a 25-year-old woman with very active social media accounts, driving a Mercedes that was left abandoned on the interstate?

If Carlee had a mental breakdown or crisis wouldn't medical staff have picked up on that when she was checked out after returning home? Really don't think that is going to be the case here. JMO

I can't even imagine what it must be like for Carlee right now.
Best thing she could possibly do, is tell LE the 100% God's honest truth about everything.
Then shut down all her social media, if she hasn't already, because that will just continue to get uglier and uglier.
I'm not sure what it is about social media that brings out the absolute worst in people, but in true crime cases we see it ALL the time. It certainly isn't helpful to someone already in a predicament, to read hateful, cruel messages directed at you.

jmo

That's what she should do, but doubtful she'll do it.

In her head what she did, the actions she took throughout this whole ordeal were better than facing whatever she's running from.

Problem is when someone is running, the issue just snowballs, and is much, much worse when it finally catches up with the person. Rather than having faced whatever she running from.

It's going to be a long day waiting for the presser.

Not necessarily, it can take years to get a diagnosis.
