DATE: May 10, 2022 SUBJECT: Alabama Fugitives Arrested in Vanderburgh County RELEASE NUMBER: 2022-NR-0510 CONTACT: Sheriff Dave Wedding AUTHORITY: Sheriffvanderburghsheriff.org
His attorney who stated in an article linked up thread that Casey was suicidal and would die rather than return to prison was certainly mistaken.Cant help but wonder if she thought he would die with her and not take the cowards way out at the end while she sit there dying? He had time. He could have taken the gun from her and shot himself or started running and shooting which would get him killed. Instead, he,s dangling his hands out the window hoping they dont shoot him.
It was not immediate aid and i certainly was not impressed when after they dragged her out of the vehicle they continued to drag her up the incline."Aid was immediately rendered to Vicky by on- scene personnel, but she was later pronounced deceased at the hospital."
I wouldn't consider what I saw in the bodycam footage to be immediate aid. I understand they couldn't get to her bc of the wreckage and were being careful as she was still holding the gun. Wording should be aid was given as soon as the scene was secure or as soon as leo confiscated the weapon.
Maybe I'm being too particular or I've watched too many trials where leo doesn't render aid at all.
imo
Maybe the honeymoon was over? Two observations based on what I hear in the released audio--
I never hear, "we surrender."
Or "Casey, I love you."
Read into it what you will.
JMO
From the videos, VW was disarmed, extracted from the crashed vehicle, and administered to in less than 7 minutes! It also appeared to me that LE was preparing to transport VW in a police cruiser."Aid was immediately rendered to Vicky by on- scene personnel, but she was later pronounced deceased at the hospital."

I also think it's implied by that LE rendered aid when safe to do so (as evidenced by LE holding back the EMT from approaching the crash).
No complaints about the first responders here.![]()
I feel it has to be something more than boredom or emptiness that would cause a woman to voluntarily latch on to a man who kills women, and expresses the desire to kill more women. I don’t really have any sympathy for her, although I am not glad she’s dead. She willingly unleashed a violent, predatory person back into society - what, because she was lonely? She worked for years among some of the most undesirable people in society and picks this guy. Something is very deeply and sadly wrong when this is the kind of person a woman would willingly choose. And if we’re going to feel such grief for her because of whatever weaknesses she had that led to this, are we also going to give CW the the same kind of response?
I do understand why you would reword it that way."Aid was immediately rendered to Vicky by on- scene personnel, but she was later pronounced deceased at the hospital."

Yes, it sounded like a scream. Even though this is the second time I'm listening to this audio I didn't hear VW say "Help me" to the dispatcher. I was surprised I heard that today. I guess the first time I was actually shocked to hear the recording as many people on this thread I'm sure are. Also VW said either after or before asking for help she implored the dispatcher to have the chase stopped. Unfortunately it was a very volatile situation and LE also had to be protected as well. So it was an extremely difficult situation whereby LE couldn't call off the chase either. They would be dammed if they did and be dammed if they didn't. IMO The Marshal's Service did the best they could under a very trying circumstance. Sadly I completely understand that VW was trying to get the chase to stop but by the time VW expressed this it was too late even though it was just minutes after they left the hotel. In a split second the dynamic of the chase changed into the crash. It took less than a minute to deploy the spike belt. So, sadly her need to have the chase stopped was to late by the time she verbalized it.
Whoa, where did you hear that he had killed a woman and expressed a desire to kill more women??
Pretty much speaking my own heart.Well...I'm going to hold my breath and share my opinion. It's only an opinion. I'm a very open-minded person, so feel free to offer up constructive objections...but please don't be mean! I think that they loved each other. (the kind only they understood, I guess) My opinion only, V.W. had some issues, but was basically a good person. In my opinion only, the crime that C.W. was convicted of, should have been considered a 'crime of passion' and also with mental issues??
Moo 75 years?!?
I mean, what kind of lawyer did he have? Not a high-priced one, surely? (I have to admit that I didn't like the part about him killing a dog, though. I love dogs!) Also the murder that he confessed to is in question. It's not proven, even. Thank you to Websleuths, and Tricia, for letting me share my opinion.
IMO, the 30 seconds of audible communication by VW was between VW and CW, and not the 911 dispatcher. It appears that VW is not aware the dispatcher has answered. Her calls to stop are directed at CW to stop the vehicle so they can get out and run -- and hopefully avoid the airbags going off.Yes, it sounded like a scream. ^^rsbmThe 911 audio appears to start near the end of the chase. It begins with someone saying something indiscernible, and the dispatcher saying “Evansville 911.” No one appears to address the dispatcher, who says, “911” and “hello” seemingly without being answered.
Instead, a woman’s voice — which authorities say is Vicky White’s — is heard within the first six seconds saying things including, “Stop,” and “Wait, stop … air bags going to go off and kill us.”
Twelve seconds in, a loud noise is heard — the first of at least four loud noises to happen in about 15 seconds. It’s unclear in each instance what the noises represent, and it’s unclear from the audio when the car was rammed, when it rolled over, and when a gun was fired.
“God,” the woman says after the first noise. “Air bags are going off. Let’s get out and run.” She mentions a hotel.
I suppose it's possible they loved each other. Who am I to say? I've never even met them, so how can I assume anything about how they felt? But whatever it was, it does not justify breaking someone out of jail and committing a bunch of felonies in the process. Even if it was "love" that's a bridge too far for me. jmoWell...I'm going to hold my breath and share my opinion. It's only an opinion. Is it common in the U.S. for LE incident reports to be released to the public?
Appending to my earlier post, in Indiana, the Access to Public Records Act is provided for at Indiana Code 5-14-3.Actually, it's decided more on a state-by-state basis and their respective statutes for freedom of public information.
Generally, there's an exception to releasing information including police reports, warrants, and autopsies, during ongoing investigations -- (i.e., citing protecting the integrity of the case).
In the officers report she was holding a black semi automatic handgun. It doesn't appear any other gun was retrieved from the inside of the car that was easily accessible. So, if there was going to be a shootout he would be driving and she would have been the one trying to kill other police officers. This is so sad. jmo.
I wonder if she called her mother on Mothers Day?
