@ Otto - if DW disabled GPS then DNV is voluntarily missing if she was the only occupant of her car.....
(sure hope to hear about this 3 car/people thingy...VI even says doesn't believe it....)

DW was only at the Shell station for 1-2 minutes. He did not disable the GPS.

Car 3 disabled the GPS. There must have been 2 people in Car 3

Disabling the GPS at 11:08PM on July 17 is the beginning of an incident that ended with Danni and her car vanishing.

@ Otto about car 3 & two people (at least)...that's the only way it makes any sense (and/or another perp already in her car)......going to be pretty tripped out if cedgison says LE is stating 3 cars...with one driver per car, no other occupants....

  • #783
cedgison....well: that's what is bugging me.....no one doubts DNV car or the car that is apparently in no doubt is DW...
If we already know DWs car: it should be obvious that it is or isn't....it was just there!
That's what I would like to know: is it because the CCTV is really bad...the car is too far away....? How can we know: DW car....then one minute later, not know...
Gosh, really feel I'm not expressing myself well!
If someone said - same color, same shape...(maybe some other thing)....it's too far away to be certain...but...maybe, can't rule it out...
No one has said why they think it could be though so I have to guess at why....
TIA
(btw do know TT is JDT son...sorry if I got anything confused!)

I was very confused by the Party Train language. I was offline for a couple days during the last thread when it originated. I went back and could not find find out exactly where it came from. It was something that definitely threw me off for a bit until I realized it was just four people and two bars.

We only know of 4 people, who were driving at least 3 separate vehicles, but there could have been more people. Collectively, this is where “party train” comes from/why it makes sense.

“Barhopping” because they planned to go to more restaurants/bars than just Dublin & Ollie’s.

There’s nothing that says it couldn’t be possible

I'm curious. If Car 1 is DW and Car 3 is DW, then DW and Danni left together at 11:24. Doesn't that mean that she is voluntarily missing?

I interpret "detectives confirmed 3 cars/people" as meaning at least three cars and 3 drivers.

As soon as we have three cars, we have Danni alone at the Shell station with another car at 11:08. Her GPS is disabled and she vanishes at 11:24.

That's the beginning of the incident that ended with poof. Since the arrival of Car 3 coincides with Danni's disappearance, it's safe to assume that there were two drivers, two cars, and Danni was no longer making decisions at 11:24.

Yes.

That's interesting. DW hides Danni's phone, lures her to the closed Shell station, leaves at 11:07. At 11:08, a car load of buddies arrives in Car 3 at 11:08. Thank you for explaining Party Train!

Does Car 3 loop back and then everyone decides to go to a party, or is DW waiting at The Dublin holding the phone?

It's like a shell game with the cars. Where is Danniella?

Also, it seems too convenient, but what if the GPS just malfunctioned at the Shell Station rather than was maliciously disabled? The only statement from LE was the last ping from the GPS was at the Shell Station and then it stopped functioning.

Do we know if the GPS was built in like OnStar? One of my SUVs does not have built in GPS so we have a Garmin GPS that you have to plug into one of the car's electric sockets (what they replaced cigarette lighters with). If you knock the plug, the GPS stops working. It happens all the time if the passenger reaches to change the music since you have to reach past the plug we use.

@otto - well - only if there was no one else in her car...maybe she's not driving..or is being directed by another person in her car...but yeah, otherwise....she voluntarily went under that scenario - DW & DNV pull out together after GPS disabled, she vanishes......yeah, anyway...
IF DW is car three....then she couldn't have been alone in that car....and/or she may have been in his for all we know, unconscious...or heck...getting into speculationlandia here...precisely why I'd like to know what reasoning is behind him being car 3 & if we know that people moved between cars or not and if LE knows how many occupants per car.......

If LE said "there were three cars on the surveillance video," that means they enhanced and/or studied the video and determined that there were three separate and distinct cars. That means Car 3 was not DW, or LE would have said "there are two cars on the surveillance video."

Now the question is could they get enough information from the video to see what type of car #3 is and any identifying information? Will they release a BOLO for the equivalent of a black malibu with front-end damage?

I read through Thread #1 in the last couple of days, and the first mention of the GPS is that it is built in OnStar. After that it morphs into "LoJack", but the original information is OnStar.

I'm curious how long it takes pro-carjackers to disable OnStar systems.

I don't know that it matters how many people were in Car 3. I think we know that there was movement between the two cars because Danni had no reason to disable her GPS. She just bought the car and wouldn't want to disrupt that transaction. Based on everything we know about her personal achievements and goals, she did not voluntarily disappear.

Hope so. The photo of the video that was posted here was too grainy to be useful. One would expect that a gas station has camera equipment that can at least read license plates! Gas theft can be a big problem.

cedgison: 3cars/people....that isn't limiting how many people...just how many cars, right?
In which case LE is saying then....not just 3 cars...but 3 DIFFERENT cars....correct?
TIA

Cedgison: When you state that TT and JDT have been officially ruled out by LE....does that mean you are personally in contact with LE? Does LE provide you with some of the inside information you post here? Thank you.
C

I have not, personally, spoken to LE.

I think the answer to this is it depends on the trim package on the car. OnStar is standard across every 2014 Cruze. See section bolded below.

From cargurus.com:
"As a small and affordable car, the Cruze isn’t a tech powerhouse, but Chevy delivers in the ways that matter. A free 6-month subscription to OnStar service is standard for every 2014 Cruze, and all trims except the base LS offer or include Chevrolet MyLink, a reversing camera, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Side Blind Zone Alert.

As a part of the OnStar service, the Cruze provides remote door unlocking, horn operation and lighting operation; remote diagnostic checks and reports; stolen vehicle assistance; and turn-by-turn navigation. Several safety features are also included with OnStar and are detailed in the next section.

MyLink includes a 7-inch color touchscreen, a USB port, Internet radio access and Bluetooth connectivity, including music streaming and hands-free texting. Pair an iPhone, and drivers can use Siri Eyes Free technology to ask for directions, compose and send text messages and emails, and make calls. Owners can even configure the MyLink screen to show the most frequently used touch-sensitive icons on the main page.

Generally, I find MyLink graphically pleasing and both easy and intuitive to use. Pairing a phone is easy, and making voice-activated calls is no trouble."
Chevrolet Cruze

OnStar I believe is on every car and requires a subscription. We had gone through the car specs in Thread 1 to explain the options but here is Chevy Cruze 2014 manual to explain the Infotainment system which is different from the OnStar.

That is very helpful: so it definitely had a screen for GPS if it came with OnStar, and she would not have had a separate GPS like Garmin.

I'm pretty sure that the official missing poster says that it is a 2017, but everywhere else it is reported as 2014. If there's discrepancy the car will not be found.

Does anyone have the official missing poster link handy?
