I just don't know if I can get on board with the GPS being intentionally disabled or damaged, I'm filing it in the maybe (has some potential to be true) file... Although at this point I think every single thing I think I know can go into that file....

If I'm coming across argumentative I don't mean to be at all, I'm just really frustrated and annoyed with this ENTIRE case. I need the gif back of the emoji slamming his head into a brick wall!!!

I totally understand. If it happened to malfunction the last time she was ever seen (so we are told), it would be a really incredible coincidence.

The OnStar GPS can be pinged regardless of whether the car owner has a subscription or uses the system. There is only one way to prevent a ping, and that is if the system is disabled or damaged. The system could be pinged up until Danni arrived at the Shell station, and could not be pinged afterward. Therefore, something was done to the GPS at the Shell station.

I think part of the frustration is related to how the discussion moves forward. Collectively, we analyze some aspect, such as exactly where DW was throughout the evening, and then something from Facebook is added that not only ignores everything we've discussed, but is based on wild unsubstantiated speculation.

Do we have any proof yet of TT 30 day jail stint? Why is this so hard to provide? It would help to be able to rule out at least one person!

Can someone PLEASE tell me if it is verified fact from LE or MSM that the GPS was turned off. I know we all spent 3 threads discussing this, but I just don't believe it happened. I want LE or MSM confirmation only!!!! I really think this was a wild goose chase of fabrication to make something else seem like something it wasn't!!

I think she just didn't have active GPS, and it was turned into, she turned her GPS off 10 minutes before she disappeared.
I will go back and research this again as after all the discussion I am well and truly confused how it was described by LE.

For what it is worth though even if she didn't have OnStar activated (factory installed in her car) it is still possible for LE to go to OnStar to locate the vehicle unless the system was removed using the process described in one of the many you tube videos that were posted in Thread 2. A number of articles were posted in thread 2 about the fact that OnStar still transmits information even with no active service plan and how a number of people with GM cars were concerned about the associated privacy issues and so sought to remove the system from their cars (Wired article on this topic was particularly interesting).

The exact LE quote is "The GPS last pinged at the Shell Station." So the last place they can place her per GPS is the Shell Station. That lead all of us to conclude that the GPS was either disabled or malfunctioned at the Shell Station or shortly thereafter.

In the very beginning we all looked at maps to find bodies of water she may have driven into that would cause the GPS to stop as well. There didn't seem to be anything big enough to submerge a car that close.

Young Mobile mother missing- "...MIL says her car last pinged at the Shell station around 11 p.m..."

Thread 1, #171 comment by @Vail - "the shipping containers she was referring to are where LE told her the car originally pinged, which as at the East end of Dauphin St (if you cross over Water st.) I think that is the most we can say about that as LE is now publicly stating the last ping is at the SHell, so that is what we have to believe is the truth. For the sake of speculation, if her car pinged at that dock the night she disappeared, it changes everything.."

Thread 1, #172 comment by @theides- "when I first shared the original missing post from JT on FB, it stated that he last ping was on Dauphin St. and it was a faint ping so possibly a parking garage. A few hours later I went back and looked at it again, and it had been changed to the ping being at the Shell...."

Obviously Dauphin was out there at some point, but I can't find anything now on it.

Opinion - This case should have had a well broadcast sizable Crime Stoppers reward( 5 grand or more for arrest and conviction) early on. Something big enough to get people talking and possibly bring in a truthful snitch.
CrimeStoppers of SW Alabama is involved with original reward. The Chief spoke about this in his press conference. I have been on social media asking for additional promotion of the CrimeStoppers involvement in the case for the past 3 weeks. I know each CrimeStoppers operates a bit differently so maybe why that is MPD is manning the tip lines. I honestly don't have an answer as to why CrimeStoppers hasn't been front and center in this case as I've seen them on so many other cases. If others could tweet/message on social media it might get some clarification and additional promotion which just might help the case.

Here is link to CrimeStoppers of SW Alabama FB page: CrimeStoppers of Southwest Alabama

You are correct. Early references to to ping at Dauphin Street are gone. Even the early JDT quote on Dauphin Street I believe is gone. I've tried to use Wayback to find the references but had zero success.

MSM article confirming that the $2,000 reward (initial reward) was put up by CrimeStoppers of SW Alabama. I cannot find confirmation of the source of the $3,000 increase in the reward to its present level of $5,000.

Reward offered for info on missing Mobile woman - Lagniappe Mobile

Facebook page for Crimestoppers of SW Alabama: CrimeStoppers of Southwest Alabama

"The Mobile Police Department is currently offering a $5,000 reward for information about Danniella’s disappearance."

- the MPD blog

Yes, thanks for posting this info. I was trying to figure out where the $3,000 addition to the reward came from and can't figure out if its from MPD, CrimeStoppers or another source.

I am back to thinking there was NO Ping, No GPS, no nothing.... I think the "pinging the GPS" is about as truthful as the lojack story. I personally feel the "ping" and it being on Dauphin street was another ploy to get everyone to look at DW (the whole shipping supervisor)! I also think we were almost forced into believing car 1 & 3 were DW and that's why we heard the story about the disabled lojack, eyes on DW... I was suspicious of DW, but now I'm not at all, I want to defend him, because I feel he is being used as a scapegoat from paying attention to people we would normally look at. MOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

WHY can't we have basic facts in this case confirmed, this is seriously beyond outrageous.

And I'll be real honest at this time here is my theory....

DNV, walked away, she got really really tired and left. I think TT knew this and I think TT was car 3 and he was saying goodbye. I think instead of saying she walked away he figured with 🤬🤬🤬 and the like they could make some $$$$$$, after all he is an addict... TT probably doesn't tell JT so she is in the dark, but wants her sons name out of it. MOO. My theory is subject to change every five minutes, but I've been on this one for awhile.

I think we have the basic facts and that we can rely on them. What we need to be cautious of is wild theories alleging that DW and hard drugs are somehow related to Danni's disappearance. There are no facts to support either allegation even though that appears to be a theory held by the ex-boyfriend's family.

I did a list of verified by law enforcement and msm only, there was 11 things on the list. I disagree 100% that we have the basic facts.

I just spent 1/2 hr again searching for this GPS information from LE. Does anyone know how to set up a media page for this case as I think it could make searching alot easier? There was a quote made in thread 2 in a MSM article that Pearl Motors was able to ping the DNV car at the Shell Station. The original article is giving me a 404 error and basic google searches on issue of ping/pearl motors/danniella vian aren't turning up anything relevant to confirm LE making a statement about GPS ping. If anyone can find this article (believe it was NBC Mobile station) please post it. But at this point I don't think we can make any assumptions about the GPS as all the other comments I've been able to find regarding GPS have been Mobile 'family' related and not LE.

The other issue is that MSM reporting is taking Mobile 'family' statements as fact rather than using LE confirmation of Mobile 'family' statements and this is also causing alot of confusion.

I do think though that MPD has been quite clear that the last known location was 3500 block of Government road. I know this doesn't answer your question about GPS but absent any confirming statement from LE it seems we just might have to assume there is no GPS and go with LE statement about last known location. Its sad that this is where we are at 2 months post missing.

I didn't mean to send you on the same wild goose chase I went on, but I did the same thing for the past 3 days, searching desperately to find something from LE confirming a ping, I NEVER found it!

Thank you for trying, and confirming. I do appreciate it! Very sad this is where we are at 2 months missing.

Thank you for sharing your theory. It is just as important as anyone else's. DNV being alive would be a happy ending.

I agree with you that we don't have all the facts. What I find particularly sad/pathetic is that MSM is not confirming statements about the case that were provided by the Mobile 'family' with LE. So, finding statements of case related facts is difficult as so few facts exist that have been stated by LE. I have watched the Chief's press conference at least 5 times and it interesting that he didn't use that PC to confirm any of the basic facts of the case. He was simply making an appeal for information with no confirmation of basic facts (date of disappearance and basic details of DNV were mentioned), no new news, no photos, no graphics or CCTV. It almost seemed that the Chief was trying to reach a very specific individual/individuals in the press conference and that these people would know precisely what had happened to DNV so repeating the basic facts of the case wasn't important. This is my opinion only but I think LE knows who they are looking for but might not know where they are.

I very share your frustration and very much appreciate your wanting to deal with LE confirmed facts only. I agree the Mobile 'family' comments while possibly well intentioned have been a huge distraction in this case and I agree with you that we would be well served to focus on LE confirmed information only at this point.

I don't mind. I did it because I totally agreed with you. I think I've read almost everything on this case from MSM at least a couple of times and I totally share your frustration. Media IMO is NOT doing its job of presenting facts that have been confirmed by LE. Its almost as if this case needs a MSM reported information excluded from consideration warning as they are simply rehashing statements from the Mobile 'family' with no separate due diligence that I can see.
