What supports she drove the to disable it period? None. The

It was actually during and after based on his petition and the photos of her and her daughter allegedly with weed.

I don't understand how we can take DW's story as told by JDT as the truth such no since room, but doesn't order items good by JDT. The fact is there is very little confirmed evidence or information by LE or MSM (whose main source has been JDT). Perhaps the best way to attempt to weed through the case is to take the timeline as we currently know it, cite the source and disregard anything relayed not confirmed by LE and MSM.

ETA: to finish my statement I clearly forgot about, the only thing we know for sure is that two-three cars, purportedly DW and DNV, can be seen pulling into the Shell station at 11:05 and leaving at 11:25. At some point during this stop the GPS stopped responding due to unknown causes. DNV and the car disappeared.

This is what we know about when the GPS was disabled:

"The company where Vian purchased her car confirms the car’s gps pinged at the Dublin and then at the shell gas station on Government and I65 that night."

I do tend to believe some of JDT’s story regarding DW. What she stated he told her In the very beginning. Additions and deletions started when it became clearer DW was not involved in disappearing DNV. IMOO, anytime someone made a statement disproving DW’s as a culprit, something new popped up to go back to DW. I am sticking to the original story and LE/MSM information only.

That doesnt say it didn't ping elsewhere. Just confirmed she was in fact at those locations, right?

Alethea also posted a comment yesterday morning about LE stating that the last ping was at the Shell station. That, combined with the information from Pearl Motors, tells us that the GPS worked until the Shell station and that it was then disabled or damaged.

Is there a transcription of the police chief's press conference? That may help us pull out 100% LE statements. He said a lot, it was half an hour.

That's my experience as well. As long as DW was the primary target, the story about where he was, when he was there, and what he did remained the same. When we looked more closely at whether he could have been at The Dublin at 11:37 with the phone, and at the Shell at 11:24, the story changed quite a bit. Suddenly no one was at Ollies, and instead of DW stopping to talk to 2 of the four at Ollies for a few minutes, suddenly he had several drinks at Ollies.

I too will rely on the original information.

I wish we had the person from the MT thread who transcribed a press conference or two. I am terrible.

I think @Vail was hitting on an important point. Dublin's closes at midnight. I think it was very important for DNV to get her phone back before it closed. If it closed, she wouldn't have her phone until the next afternoon. If she planned to stay out late and celebrate her new car, she would want to be able to contact her friends and meet up with them after work.

I think DNV and DW ran an errand. At 11:05 DNV tells DW she lost her phone. I think they both would realize they only have ~50 minutes to retrieve the phone or she'd risk not having it until the next afternoon. DW offers to run back to get the phone while DNV 1) checks her car or 2) waits for someone.

It would make sense for DW to run to Dublin's while DNV stayed at the Shell and checked her car for the phone because if she found her phone in the car she could call him to tell him she found the phone, & he could come back or meet her at Ollie's.

If she finds it, good, DW can turn back around or meet her whereever. If she didn't find it, DW is already almost at Dublin's ready to grab it before it closed.

If they waited together and searched in her car, they're ticking down the time that Dublin's is open and getting the phone would be possible.

Why is the GPS disabled at the Shell station?

To clarify, I am trying to get at WHY DW went to get her phone and ultimately had it. Them both going back to get it doesn't fit for a couple reasons, so I'm exploring why she couldn't do it herself.
My recollection was that most people on thread 2 believed there was a reason for her to stay at the shell vs DW. If she knew Car 3 vs DW not knowing Car 3 and this was important for whatever reason then what happened made some sense given that Car 3 pulled in shortly after DW left and stayed for a good while. Are you implying that at the time DW left the Shell that she was incapacitated and unable to go get the phone herself? Is your theory that one person from Car 3 drove DNV car out Shell with DNV in passenger seat and the car headed in the direction of Midtown/Downtown?

I think she's intercepted by Car 3 and the GPS is disabled at that point.

I was addressing the question of why would DW leave as Car 1 at 11:08 instead of wait 20 minutes while DNV searches her car for the phone. I think it makes more sense for him to have left as Car 1 at 11:08 as reported so he can definitely get to Dublin's before it closed.

My mother-in-law is visiting next week. I might volunteer to transcribe them just to spend additional time at the office.

Do you have a link?

I recall a rumor from a facebook site that there is more CCTV footage, but I haven't seen any confirmation of that.
All we have are LE statements that they looked for additional CCTV. Given that the area around the Shell station is commercial it is likely that they found something to confirm a direction but none of this information has been shared with the public.

  • #554
Was there not statement that LE had her on video from some homes along the way?
No, I haven't heard anything from LE about a second view of DNV on CCTV. LE said at one point that it was looking for additional CCTV footage along the possible routes after Shell departure.

This second look at DNV is coming from JDT and I'm not convinced that she has any information confirmed by LE.

A few people did this the other night on this thread and direct quotes were presented. The Chief's conference was just about 10 min. and didn't release any new information. In fact the PC was unlike many that we've seen on other cases in that it didn't even rehash known facts as understood by LE. The sense you got from watching the delivered message was that the Chief was trying to reach either DNV or someone with her or holding her. There were no facts confirmed by the press conference and new new facts shared IMO. I think I've listened to it at least 6 times now and each time the sense becomes stronger that he is trying to reach out to DNV or someone with her vs what we typically think PC's should be with case updates and shared information. The only 'news' he shared was that MPD was out of leads at the time of the press conference and he asked the public for assistance. I've never seen LE ask for assistance without a rehash of events, pictures of vehicles or some other tool to jog a memory. Maybe if others could again watch the PC and post their thoughts maybe others will see things differently but I saw no new info released other than that MPD were out of leads.

Do we have anything to believe that there is any connection between DW in Car 1 and unknown people in Car 3? I guess LE would be able to look at DW phone records to review all calls made along with DNV calls. What I have a hard time understanding is the short period of time between DW leaving Shell and Car 3 arriving. Was Car 3 following DNV or were they alerted by DW or was it a previously scheduled meet up? We've talked all these possiblities through previously but unfortunately we don't know the answer. DNV stayed with Car 3 either voluntarily or involuntarily but she did stay there with them for 20 min at the Shell.

The actual talk time was about 10 min or so. For some reason the video is 30 min in length but the early part is setup of media and media sound check. I've listened to the non-Chief speaking portions to see if anyone says anything interesting in general conversation or asks a question and didn't hear anything interesting. Even the press questions weren't answered by the Chief with any new information IMO. There was a reason for that press conference but it wasn't to share news with the public IMO even though the public was asked to assist in the process of finding DNV. Curious what you thought about the Chief's plan for the PC as it wasn't what we typically see.

I have heard that there is additional CCTV footage but that it’s from other businesses near the Shell, but I don’t know which businesses or what the videos reveal, if anything.

BINGO. This is my theory.

car#2 (assumed to be Danni) and car #3 are together at the shell for 20 minutes, correct? Is this a typical amount of time for a prearranged drug buy, say, of marijuana?
