Your point about the CCTV is the main fact that makes the drug deal angle an unlikely one, more than anything else. I don't actually remember if it was confirmed the CCTV is from the Shell though, I thought someone said it was actually from across the street. @cedgison can you confirm that for us? What we do know, based on the still images, is it was terrible quality - I really don't know how they could discern who was who or what car was what with that footage. While someone else's phone or a phone we don't know about could have been used, you are correct that LE not only probably knows who car 3 is if they are known to Danni, but they have her phone and should also have her ping info and records by now.

Of course, there is SM discussion about a phone call she did make to someone that night which fuels the drug angle but I do prefer to work the more obvious angles until we can say for certain they are impossible.

I've wondered the same thing- if the footage was so terrible, how could they be certain which car belonged to each person? Just because I don't think there's enough evidence to completely rule out a drug-related occurrence, could Car 1 have been a dealer, Car 2 have been DW/DNV and Car 3 have been the other? JUST BRAINSTORMING If DNV set up the deal- which I think people go to because, well, we assume she knew people based on her people circle- and realized she left her phone, maybe she signaled DW not just to say she lost her phone, but to also let him know this is where we're going?

Admittedly, I don't think this is likely since both cars got there at 11:05, but sometimes brainstorming on other ideas does help rule out things.

Update: I spoke to MPD a little bit ago. My [and JDTs] request to search a specific area is being passed on, again, to the Detective on Danni's case. Hopefully this search will happen soon, especially since it's been asked for twice.

Can you tell us where this area is? If not, can you give us any description of the place (a body of water, a stretch of road, a neighborhood)??

I have not once victim shamed Danni. All I'm saying is there has to be a reason she was there and it's not because it's on the way between The Dublin & Ollie's (because it isn't). So what was she doing in that area?
Isn't this the route DW would take to his house?

The discussion on a phone call is new to me- that's interesting.

They do. I can confirm this 100% from personal experience (keep in mind, you don't have to be habitual, you only have to do a shady pickup once for it to go wrong)

I have never used drugs because they're illegal and I'm a nerd but when I worked in NYC, a few of my colleagues did regularly. I was shocked that they could just text a drug dealer and he'd show up at their apartment and sell them pot and cocaine. I truly couldn't fathom just inviting a known criminal into your home but they didn't think it was a big deal. The guy had a big messenger bag and it was like a pharmacy! It was very professional, like he was the white-collar version of a drug dealer. If they were out partying, they would text the guy and he'd meet them at bars or clubs. This seems like a very, very bad idea to me and we did not last long as friends because the whole thing made me so nervous. If you met these guys and didn't know this you'd think they were upstanding citizens. And they really were except for this hobby.

That's why I didn't rule out the 11pm errand being related to drugs, even if we all agree DNV and DW seem to be great people with established job histories and their lives going in the right direction. Lots of people do drugs for whatever reason and I don't think it makes anyone a bad person. Once you get into harder drugs and dealing I do think you have much more a criminal risk.

I worked through the car order problems a lot in thread 1 and then we later were told car 1 and 2 pulled in more or less together from the same direction and are DNV and DW. Taking that at its word, LE must have better footage or another way to correlate that these two cars are indeed DW and DNV (GPS info+DW pings for example)

Well I struggle to reason why a carjacker would kill a 24 year old woman, especially an attractive one, but these people are rarely reasonable. If you search for news of carjacking murders in Mobile, there are a number in the last couple years and more attempted carjackings, one right round the time Danni disappeared also. Now combine that with a car that ranks high for theft, which has paper plates making it easier to identify and flip, and a dark gas station at night right next to an auto-body shop and you have a reasonable setup for a carjacking. No matter what turns out to be the real story, we will probably be asking why it happened and why Danni had to be killed. That question doesn't disqualify carjacking as a possibility at all. Murder is never simple.

I lean away from carjacking because a closed dark gas station seems like the perfect place to pull a car owner out of a car and leave them there and drive away with the car. I don't know why anyone would go through the extra hassle of taking the person too if the goal was stealing the car.

Yes, that is exactly how it would go down a lot of the time! It really is nuts. They'll meet you anywhere. I should probably add that I was not engaged in illegal activity during my experiences with this there.

Yeah, when was the call and who was it to? I've never heard about it before.

A portion of the Dog River.

[Redacted the additional specifics as they shouldn't have been given.]

Well it looks like its been snipped, but here is a link to round 1 of the drug buy speculation in thread 3 where it came up the first time (so we could honestly move on to the Being Followed scenario now IMO) AL - AL - Danniella Vian, 24, Mobile, 17 Jul 2018 #3

@cedgison can share any info posted to their group if she thinks it's constructive.

A portion of the Dog River.

I am happy to hear this. I was looking over the map the other night and kept coming back to the Dog River wondering why it wasn't being considered a real possibility. There are a few places she definitely could have gone in along with the car, though it would take some explaining on why and how it happened.

I am also starting to wonder more and more if car3 was a police car. It could just be Toni Anderson coming back to haunt my thoughts.

I've been following along since Thread 1, and my feeling (IMO, just a gut-level thing) has always been that Danni and car may be "hiding" in plain sight. Occam's razor may need a bit of sharpening, but a car entering the water (or another, as yet unknown normally inaccessible area) would seem to explain her abrupt vanishing act.

I 100% agree with the plain sight. I tried to start the discussion over and use only what had been confirmed by LE and MSM, but it didn't get very far.

@cedgison- I asked earlier, but it may have been missed, what is the significance of the bar off of Broad- Papa Buddhas?

That's one of the million dollar questions at the moment. I don't know for sure.

We don't know where they were going, but we do know that they were not going to Ollies.

We also know that drug dealers do not set up shop in front of a CCTV camera.

They were not going to the Shell station, but stopped there because Danni forgot her phone. They did not plan to stop there, and indeed they were there together for 2 minutes before deciding to return together to the Dublin.

Danni was prevented from following him to the Dublin. Instead, her GPS was disabled and she and her car vanished 16 minutes later.
Not everyone who gives someone a small “bud” isn’t always dealing drugs. A friend who smokes might share with another friend once in a while. And those people aren’t aware of cctv as much as someone who’s selling it by the ounce or pound. Imoo

And I can tell you it happens more than a person might think at convenience stores. It can be concealed in a gift bag or something unnoticeable.

I'm confused- I thought the addresses were significant to DNV and/or the people involved. I'm assuming the Highlands Rd. address is one of their home addresses. Did DNV frequent the bar, is that why it was listed? The pins appear to have been manually entered, so someone must have relayed the specific bar to her or did I misunderstand?

How did the car help make Danni disappear?

The car helped Danni disappear because it wasn't being tracked.
It wasn't being tracked because of someone disabling it
For that someone to have it disabled
  • They must have known it was enabled
  • Where the car was
  • And how to disable it
The Questions are who and why?
