I didn't want to respond without asking JDT first; however, in our Admin chat, I did ask her to clarify this and she told me that LE has not told her anyone is cleared; that they are all suspects.
This is one of the few things that we have heard recently that makes any sense IMO.

I think it’s probably a good idea for you to apply for verified insider status here at WS. The rules here require links to LE or mainstream media sources for information shared, unless you have been verified as someone connected to the case. It’s simple and involves emailing with the admin here just so they can make sure you are who you say you are. You can, of course, maintain your anonymity on the public boards.

Thanks! I've sent a message to WS admin.

This is a whole new slew of info that lead me to bad assumptions.
Young girl with more then $10k in cash.

For somebody who worked at a restaurant...

This story seems far fetched.

Yeah...was the $10,000 stored in her freezer? That's like 1/2 a year salary working as a waitress.

That segment with the young boy was surreal.

I still can't wrap my head around the various people that were with DV on the party train the night she went missing not coming forward and giving their personal testimony as to the events of the evening. I don't know the actual number of people involved but it was at least 4-5 people including the car that showed up at the Shell Station. How do these people just walk away? JDT said the person that supposedly recovered the phone at Dublin Pub was interviewed and gave a statement to the police. But what about the other people there that night - did they give statements to the police? Do the police even know who all was at the Shell Station? I would think that given the amount of time that has passed that the details of the individuals would be known by Mobile PD, but unfortunately we don't have any updated information on situation? Where is the press on this case?

There were only 2 people at the Shell station - DV and one other. The alleged Car 1 & Car 3 are the same car. I forget the time stamps, but it's the car that left shortly after arriving & returned 15-20 minutes later.

I just realized I likely misled you. The user with the name Admin is our tech guy. @Tricia is who you want. Hopefully she’ll see this tag & the two of you can get connected.

Once again.. another open end.
This 24 year old waitress with no credit cards, no bank account and according to her “goals list” had an outstanding debt with the library she wanted to pay off in the next month BUT she had more then 10k hanging out in a shoe box under her bed? Fishy

When I couldn't message Admin directly, I responded to the Welcome email that Tricia sent me so it did go to her. Thank you for clarifying!

This is in no way victim blaming, and people are free to spend their money however they want. But you can get a used car much, much cheaper than $10k. Why wouldn't you buy a model a few years older and use the rest of the money to pay off your debts? It does not make any sense to me. What would make sense was if 1) someone bought the car for her, 2) the dealer gave her a dealer-financed loan where she paid set amounts each month but it wasn't through a bank that would use a credit check, or 3) someone was loaning her the car.

Could this have been a set up? Someone promising to buy the car or loan the car and they had no intent to ever actually let her keep the car? Was it registered in her name yet? Did she have insurance on it yet?

Thank you for going through the process of verification. I would encourage you to reach out to JDT and ask that she consider verification as well.

Excellent questions. We have been trying to get more info on Pearl Motors but don't have much yet.

I just checked and 2014 Chevy Cruzes on CarMax range from $11,999 - $14,999 using the zip for Mobile, AL. So even more than we thought.

Do we know that’s what she paid for the car, or is that just the estimated value?

When JDT says “the gps pinged at the shell”
What is the gps? An onstar sort of situation? A gps from pearl motors?
Do we not know?

I wanna say I read that JDT said pearl motors pinged it which doesn’t make sense if she paid for the car with cash.

If she took out a loan for the car, at what point does the bank attempt to repossess the car? I’m not familiar with the procedure, but I’m going to check it out.

Dependant on who the loan was through, I imagine it's quite a lengthy process.

It’s usually not difficult. In my state at least (Midwest), if someone buys a car and doesn’t pay their bill when it’s due, the finance company will turn the account over to a repo company (or multiple repo companies). They will send folks out to locate and tow the car. It can happen quickly (within days or weeks of a missed payment even).

I thought the information released said she bought the car that day and was out celebrating. It couldn't have been repossessed, she hadn't had time to make the first payment- even if it was a buy here pay here lot.

Personally, I feel she maybe purchased the car with a large up front downpayment in cash, and then financing on the rest. It IS possible to get financing with crappy credit if you have a sizable downpayment, and pay stubs to show you have a steady job and reasonable enough income to pay your monthly bill. I bought a car when I was 21 doing that very thing.

If she was trying to improve her financial status, she maybe bought that particular car (rather than a cheap beater for cash) because paying the monthly car payment on time could help her build credit.
