I’ve been out of commission for a couple of days and am trying to catch up. I’m so pleased to see so many more interested members. I’m still reading but haven’t seen anyone list her full name yet. Danniella Nickole Vian. I noticed the unusual spelling of her middle name. Does anyone recognize it as a cultural reference? It’s listed here along with additional details of appearance.
Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Online Services

It reminds me of the way names are spelt in Bulgaria or Russia. Although, I am not sure I have ever seen Nickole spelt like that, more so with C or K but not both (although, I don't know many Nicoles haha). Just like how Anastasia is usually spelt "Anastasiya" where I am from.

Yes, that post is gone. Wonder if JDT made the decision to change her story because she was incorrect or because LE told her to stick to story about Shell station being last ping. Can only imagine what happens at parking decks in that area late at night. But we have zero official confirmation of that entire line of thought about the parking deck and downtown though which is unfortunate. If the group were heading downtown to party it totally makes sense they would need to find a place to park but we don't even know which direction they were heading after leaving the Shell station. JDT made mention about her theory of what happened in one of the MSM interviews as she said she explained it to the police. I wonder what it is? I still am coming to terms with how long it took them to report it to the police? A daughter not realizing her mother is gone and missing? Husband (even though he was in jail for a portion of the time I think as he was supposedly in jail for 5 days)? JDT and her husband? People on the party train with DV that night? Nobody helps her or reports her missing until Friday? Doesn't make sense.
I keep wondering about her regular routines within the day and those who were accustomed to seeing or hearing from her. What do they think happened? I’m sorry for this next sentence before I even type it but. Where is Danniella’s mother?

I've been following along this thread for a few days and feel strongly about a few things.

1. I believe DV stopped in that Shell station to use drugs. She was there for 20+ minutes with another car, which may or may not have been the friend she was following, or may or may not have been a drug dealer. I can think of very few other reasons she would be parked in a gas station parking lot in the midst of a night of partying for that length of time.

2. I think her friend may have also been a drug user, and that's why he's been so quiet. I bet he was going with DV to also use drugs. He may have been planning to meet up with her later, after circling back to grab her phone, to do the drugs they were buying in that Shell station parking lot. Maybe DV did a little bump to try it out first, and that's what took her so long.

3. I think DV followed a drug dealer/sketchy person in car #3 to go somewhere. More drugs, another party, something. Somewhere along the way, things went south. I think she probably arrived at a location with this person and then something happened that resulted in her being assaulted and/or murdered, or potentially an OD.

4. Potentially LE is deprioritizing this case because DV and friend are drug users and there is no real evidence at this point that harm has been done to her. They may be thinking, well, she followed some guy home to do drugs with him. Until we have evidence that she's been hurt in some way, what are we supposed to do about it? Not saying that's right, but with a heavy caseload, they may be prioritizing others over her.

IMO.

It's sad, but this is the truth. It reminds me of poor Shannon Gilbert... Gilgo didn't want to look for a drug user just as Mobile doesn't. I'm not saying that Daniella is definitely a drug user, nor am I comparing her life to that of Shannons. But, it's the same old story where no one cares because of your past.

Feel better and take care of yourself! The info from the vigil footage was that MIL didn't know she was missing until Thur and filed the missing persons report on Friday. Doesn't look like any of the people involved with the disappearance night activities reached out to the family which is quite sad. Lots of time was lost.

Odd.

The Shell Gas Station should have video cameras. IMO
Would be nice to know if they have been reviewed.

They do. And They have been. LE does not want whatever is on that video to be shown to the public.

I KNEW IT. I hate that. I really don't think LE should withhold information from the public who are worried about the missing person for a television show. The first 48 hours passed and we haven't heard anything at all.

I think it was @cybervampira who told me about the first 48. She said they used to cover missing cases but now only murder. :(
I think @Vail brought up the show first and I explained what it‘s about. The missing persons cases were a separate spin-off called “The First 48: Missing Persons“ which has been discontinued for a while. Once the ”original“ First 48 is in, there‘s gotta be a dead body, they don’t do missing persons. There‘s another spin-off called „After the First 48“. Again, no missing persons, they cover what happens after the arrest and during trial.

Police mentioned searching her apartment. EX BF Mom also said she had cash at her apt. and that she didn't have credit cards or debit cards and that she was working hard to rebuild her finances. Car was her first major purchase and it sounded like she worked around the clock to be able to buy it.

This is so sad. A young woman working hard to better herself, and she goes missing the first day with her new car. Someone with authority, political or otherwise, needs to get on this and fast.

I think someone already did! I think that’s the problem. Why there are no answers.

Nothing technically to support it. All we know is that LE most likely knows what was going on in the cars as they have the tape. LE also demanded that the Local TV Station take down the tape after it had been posted online. You scratch your head and wonder what was going on in those 2 or 3 cars for around 15 min? Looking for phone is possible but 15 min? not so sure. Disabling GPS? very possible but would just take a couple of minutes. Getting caught up with friends or figuring out where to go for further partying? maybe but why do it at gas station when they could just text or use SM? I can easily see someone in the group phoning around and having a dealer meet them at the Shell station as its right off one of the interstates? Dealer arrives then they split up the drugs and then they hit the road. Its speculation because police pulled the tape. There must have been some reason to pull the tape. We just don't know what the reason is unfortunately. There are any number of things that could have happened in those 15 or so minutes. What is your theory?

Is there time enough for her to realize her phone is gone, pull into the gas station, they call their dealer and he arrives?... Depends when car 3 arrived I guess.

I have a question? During the interviews after the Vigil JDT and Husband referred to them selves as MIL and FIL So my question is IS TT her husband or EX BF and if she is married why doesn't she carry his name. Iam really confused.

Hm, I'm not too sure, but my partner always calls my parents MIL and FIL even though we are not married yet. Hell, I even call him DH when he isn't yet.

The answer is somewhere here in the threads. I’m confused a little right now but I remember the discussion somewhat. My memory fails me.

What is it about this case that has me thinking about Danielle Stislicki? Is it just the name? Or the fact that I feel as haunted by her disappearance as I did with Dani's. IDK. I can't walk away from this one.

I spoke with someone who was at the car wash fundraiser, and apparently The First 48 interviewed some folks that were there, and it will be part of an episode to be released later. They don't usually cover missing person cases, do they? I don't think I've ever seen an episode about one.
I doubt they would interview friends and/or family during a fundraiser withholding information about Danniella being deceased. They usually do interviews where you can see mourning family members, family/friends providing leads, pleading to find the killer, KNOWING their loved one is dead. I cannot imagine they (along with LE) would play these kind of games with family, even though they have been criticized a lot. Maybe they have a strong suspicion they will eventually find her body. Maybe they are closing in on someone. But to pretend she‘s still alive when they know she‘s not? I don‘t think so.

I don't think they would do that either. That would be a bit extreme to do to somebody for the sake of a TV show, I would think.

I agree. The public outrage isn’t anything anyone in authority would be willing to risk.

Snip:

The Mobile Police Department is offering $2,000 to anyone that can offer information that leads to the discovery of missing Mobile woman Danniella Vian.

MPD Chief of Police Lawrence Battiste said that Vian's case is not an ordinary missing person scenario.

"Some people go missing because they want to" "There is nothing that has led investigators to where she might be."

$2,000 reward offered in Danniella Vian missing person case
The Alabama LE Page listed the alert Aug 1. What changed in those hours between the alert to Aug 2; to add a reward when it was/is not included in the initial/current public alert? They could be enticing potential leads from a targeted audience of which only they know. I can’t conceive they have positive proof she is no longer alive and continue to create a false scenario in real time. No, I don’t think that is what’s happening. The benefit does not outweigh the risk.

BBM. This is the most damaging thing LE can say during a missing persons investigation. Even if she had of gone missing voluntarily, who are we to say she is still ok? Her safety is still unknown and until that time these things shouldn't be said and public interest would not be so diminished. I'm left angry that someone (LE) who knows perfectly well that voluntarily missing persons/runaways are not always ok, just because they decided to leave.

She's out there somewhere and she deserves to be bought home. Her little girl does not need to be bought up not knowing where her mama is.
