AL AL - Kahleb Rowan Collins, 1, his dad & sis were killed in a car crash, he wasn't with them, Fayette County, 8 Dec 2024

What sickos these children were surrounded by.
Burned like garbage and refuse.
My god.

Sad when the searchers and the public cared more about them, than their own parents and grandpa.
At least he can be laid to rest properly now.

Rest in gentle peace, sweet little Kahleb and Ryleigh.
This world was too cruel for both of you. 😭

I know that when the search was on, I remember there seemed to be a bunch of focus on some kind of barbeque or grill by the forensic team. Perhaps it's only now that some of the ash and detritus from the burning has been properly analysed. It's very difficult when remains are very destroyed, especially if they were mixed in with nonhuman bone material.

Like Elijah Vue, it does seem that the only people who cared about Kahleb were those seeking him after death. I'm glad they didn't give up until they found a trace of him. It's going to make the court case firmer, having human remains. She won't be able to claim they gave him away to strangers, for example.

This whole story is just so tragic for those poor children. I can't even fathom the sadness and pain they both felt in their short lives, especially Kahleb who seemed to cop the worst of the abuse. His eyes could not hide the horrors he lived through. I'm thankful his remains were found and he can be laid to rest, with just a little of the dignity he was denied in life.

I hope the court system acts accordingly and never releases his tormentors. Does the state they live in have the death penalty?

Yes Alabama does & is not afraid to dish it out!!!

Thank you. I'm wary of the death penalty because you have to be absolutely 100% certain the person is guilty, but in this case I'm all for it. It's just a shame the perpetrators (if guilty of course - MOO is that they are) get to live life in prison for so long before they actually get to be put to death.

it was better for him. I hate saying that so greatly but as he grew he would feel it and understand it more and it would probably be worse than it already was and this way he had peace and never had to feel it again
I never believe that an abused person is 'better off dead'. Children (and adults) can be abused to unfathomable extremes and still have meaningful lives with joy in them. Some get saved from those circumstances, some grow up and endure and 'age out'. Just think of that young man who escaped decades of imprisonment last month. His ordeal lasted well into his adulthood, but it isn't going to be the entirety of his experience.

I will never be grateful that Kahleb is dead, just sad that he didn't get the opportunity that young man is getting now - that of self determination away from his abusers.

I agree 100%.

I see your point and I know where you and the rooster are coming from but knowing that he was being dropped to the floor by a rope until near death among other things, I personally am still grateful he doesn’t have to endure that any longer.

Sorta in response about abuse and death. I’ve never understood people have children to intentionally abuse them. I suspect there is some type of generational abuse going on. Then again, the husband, at the end, was a coward. He knew what was coming . . . he (they) couldn’t get away with it forever. IMO, I suspect there were starting to be more questions from, at least his family.

I think you are correct. Alabama, this year, has had stormy weather with a lot of rain. The state forensic science dept has an anthropology division & I believe both Alabama & Auburn have forensic anthropology programs & certifications.

Getting ready to watch Dataline about BK/Idaho case. Hope it’s not too out there.

How did they miss him for this long?
I'm pretty sure they found the remains that last day we watched them searching around a burn pit and there were a couple of photos in the news coverage of them appearing to examine a grill. Probably took that long for the DNA to come back :(

Maybe their waiting for forensics/DNA results from their 2 searches of the Collins/Bailey property?
And in light of the remains being found this post from back when the prosecution asked for a delay makes sense and is probably exactly what was behind it. waiting for that ID
