Slightly o/t, here is something I learned about rewards offered by CrimeStoppers - I thiiiiiink it might’ve been in the Seminole Heights shooter case where I learned about this; I know there are at least a couple instances of where this has happened, iirc:

A person calls a tip into PD which leads to the arrest of the individual responsible.

There is a reward available.

The tipster doesn’t get the reward.

You know why?

Because he/she didn’t call it in to Crimestoppers, they called it in to PD instead.

This is a bad deal for the tipster, imo.

I don't understand how an anonymous tipster would get a reward anyway unless they reveal their identity.

If the tip is online, you leave your email address - if you choose to. I left one of my email addresses, a non-identifying one, when I used Crime Stoppers. In case they wanted further information.

I don't know how it works when a person calls Crime Stoppers. Maybe an email address/phone number can be left then also.

They seem to encourage some kind of response point like an email address, in case detectives need further info. They do not push for your name.

And, as I mentioned before, a receipt number is given when a tip to Crime Stoppers is given. That is the personal identifier.

Of course, to get the reward they would likely have to hand it to a person/deposit into their bank account. But I feel the person's identity would be guaranteed anonymity by Crime Stoppers.

Many of us would call in a tip, regardless of a reward or not. It’s a scary thing though when one’s safety is potentially at stake. No need to take any chances. Sometimes inmates have connections to the outside. I can understand someone claiming a reward anonymously. It’s interesting how an anonymous person actually does this, as you mentioned. Iirc, the Chief said “you can walk in and pick up your cash”. I wouldn’t blame anyone for wearing a disguise.

I know that this is total speculation on my part, but it wouldn't surprise me if Derick Irisha Brown is the one who suffocated Kamille. I can envision the little tot crying because she is scared, and Brown telling her to quit crying. When she doesn't, she suffocates her. I mean, if she will put her own child in a washing machine, just think what she will do to a stranger's child.

I have not commented about how Cupcake was killed...been having panic attacks since finding out. My mom died from that...I made the mistake of researching it after her death (I needed to know what she went through & if I could have saved her). I may not be able to comment or read anymore about what happened to this lil baby doll, but want everyone to know I will be here following along & I am thankful to all of you for keeping the updates pouring in...My heart is with Cupcake & her family...

I'm so sorry for you too subiechik, cancer is horrific to watch a loved one battle. It's awful to see how many people have all dealt with terrible trauma in their lives, but seeing how you all carry on with such care and compassion for others is so uplifting

Thank you! It is really how I was raised, my mother & I followed true crime together after I became obsessed with the Jon Benet Ramsey murder. I was a daddy's girl, but true-crime was our bonding time. I was always baffled by how someone can think like that much less carry out the crime.

For the record, the DA in Jefferson County (Birmingham) is awesome! A great guy - is well-respected, efficient, pragmatic. Sat ont Grand Jury recently and even the people who work for him are rock stars. I have no doubt this case will be handled as well as possible. And it’s been really nice to see the community come together and support the family and LE during this time. I hope it continues as Birmingham has a really high crime rate. But it’s a great place to live and raise a family for the most part.
