AL AL - Ronald Dumas, 37, Huntsville, 15 Dec 2024

  • #121

Officials say Dumas’s vehicle, which was abandoned on I-40 in Camden, Tenn., and found on Dec. 16, has undergone three searches.
  • The initial search was conducted by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP).
  • The second search was conducted by Huntsville Police investigators in conjunction with TBI.
  • The third search was conducted by HPD Crime Scene Investigators in the Cime Scene Lab
Huntsville Police officials say 36 affidavits have been filed to obtain information related to Dumas' background. Of the 36 filed, they say 24 of them have returned with some degree of information.

“I understand that they want to protect the investigation but they haven’t let me know what direction they’re going in,” Dumas Sr. explained. “I haven’t talked to them and they haven’t given me no details.”

“I understand they got video coverage of him in the store, but none outside the store, what car did he get into, was anybody following them, doesn’t seem like it’s moving productively enough for me,” Dumas Sr. told News 19.

In a casual comfy outfit. For sure he realised there are always sec cams in liquor shops…But then disappears and phones are shut down.
Another “R. Borgwardt” type of case ? Not so extreme but I do see why LE does not believe in foul play for now.

Isn't it odd then, in that case that le searched the water and area multiple times with canines and divers?

Just a thought that popped into my head, without having seen the video. Maybe he wasn't actually "with" the two women. Maybe they happened to enter the store at the same time he did, and perhaps he politely held the door for them. They might've even said "how's it going" or "thank you" or other small talk. I'd guess that most people already know what they want when they go into a liquor store, and once they found it on the shelf, it's very possible that they happened to reach the cash register(s) at the same time. Plus, if it was at 10:30pm, the store may have been closing, and the cashier(s) were anxious to lock up and get home. If he happened to hold the door for them either arriving and/or leaving (especially), it could appear that they knew each other and/or were leaving together. In other words, maybe it was just a coincidence, and the two women had nothing to do with his disappearance?

JMO MOO etc. etc. etc.

Dumas “was later seen leaving the store” with the same two women and did not appear to be “in any distress at the time,” investigators said

My observation and opinion(s) that may or may not be unpopular:

<modsnip>

As far as them believing he is not endangered, it is easy to look at this and wonder why that is (and I do to some degree), but if all available footage of Mr. Dumas after he went missing does not show him in distress, even if he is with unknown parties, they have to take that into consideration. We wish LE could treat every missing person case as if they are endangered because you never know, but unfortunately that is not realistic and adults do have a “right” to be “missing.” MOO.

I do hope that if something bad has happened to him, then he is found quickly and justice is served as swiftly and solidly as possible. And I hope that if Mr. Dumas has done this of his own accord and is still alive, that he comes to his senses ASAP no matter the reasons why, and stops putting his loved ones through this. MOO.

That’s a good point. Either way, whether he was with them or not, why haven’t they come forward? Even if just to say “we saw him, he held the door for us.” The fact that NO ONE has come forward with ANYTHING is what bothers me the most.

I’m hoping it’s not that LE doesn’t “believe” there’s foul play but that they just can’t find any proof or actual evidence that would point them in that direction. I totally get that they need SOMETHING to go on, and unfortunately the only “evidence” they have is that he’s still missing after all this time…but that’s not proof of anything.

It could just be that some people strongly dislike law enforcement

Huntsville Police said it obtained new evidence prompting the missing person case involving realtor Ronald Dumas Jr. to be upgraded to an active abduction.

Arrest warrants have been issued for the following:

  • Quintarius Shikelion White, 32, of Memphis, TN is wanted for first degree kidnapping.
  • Toure Laron McLaurin, 33, of Memphis, TN is wanted for first degree kidnapping.
  • Sabrina Rochelle Chambers, 27, of Huntsville, AL is wanted for first degree kidnapping.
  • Kierra Symone Clark, 27, of Memphis, TN is wanted for conspiracy to commit kidnapping.
  • Carissa Cash, 33, of Memphis, TN is wanted for first degree receiving stolen property.

With assistance from the FBI, Huntsville police said a credible lead was developed that led to a 450-acre area south of Memphis and into northern Mississippi as a potential location for Dumas Jr.

Through the investigation, HPD says they received information that led to the identification of the women and traced them to their apartment.

As the case progressed, the police determined multiple individuals were involved in the incident.

“A coordinated search effort was conducted on Thursday, Feb. 6, by 20 investigators, including crime scene personnel and drone operators, from HPD, the Memphis Police Department, the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office and Southeastern Search Dogs to gather evidence and potentially locate Dumas,” the release continues.

During the news conference, family representative Troy Styles said that the family was not given this information before it was released to the media. He also said that the family's private investigator found some of the same names listed by HPD.

A representative for the family said deadline for the $10,000 reward is Feb. 28, although the family may choose to extend it.
