AL AL - Ronald Dumas, 37, Huntsville, 15 Dec 2024

One thing I found interesting but which could mean nothing is that only one of the five suspects' photos is a mugshot. The rest are ID photos. This is looking pretty extreme for a first crime (if indeed it is their first and they're all guilty). I wonder what in the world happened.

This article shared some info on previous criminal history for 4 of them.

During the news conference, family representative Troy Styles said that the family was not given this information before it was released to the media. He also said that the family's private investigator found some of the same names listed by HPD.

A representative for the family said deadline for the $10,000 reward is Feb. 28, although the family may choose to extend it.

Glad to see that LE is now looking into this WRT danger for Dumas... Certainly LE needs to look into things when someone goes missing -- false alarms, STS, gone simply to get away from a situation, etc., etc., but...
Hoping Dumas will be found alive and as well as possible, but
things don't look good at this time...
Hoping one of those persons will talk about what he or she knows... SMH.
Positive thoughts for Dumas, his family, and LE.

My observation and opinion(s) that may or may not be unpopular:

<modsnip>

As far as them believing he is not endangered, it is easy to look at this and wonder why that is (and I do to some degree), but if all available footage of Mr. Dumas after he went missing does not show him in distress, even if he is with unknown parties, they have to take that into consideration. We wish LE could treat every missing person case as if they are endangered because you never know, but unfortunately that is not realistic and adults do have a “right” to be “missing.” MOO.

I do hope that if something bad has happened to him, then he is found quickly and justice is served as swiftly and solidly as possible. And I hope that if Mr. Dumas has done this of his own accord and is still alive, that he comes to his senses ASAP no matter the reasons why, and stops putting his loved ones through this. MOO.
As a local, everyone, outside of the police, knew this man was in danger. The police dropped the ball. My heart breaks for his family.

"We have now received confirmation from the investigators that 'Ronnie' was taken against his will," Shakeria Samples said.

Samples said, "If [HPD] had taken things seriously from day one and looked into things like his bank records or they were able to get a timeline, they would have been able to track down the video from the liquor store sooner."

White, McLaurin and Chambers are all wanted for first-degree kidnapping while Clark is wanted for conspiracy to commit kidnapping and Cash is wanted for first-degree receiving stolen property

They have identified a 450-acre area south of Memphis, Tennessee, as a possible location for Dumas.

Memphis is over 200 miles from where Dumas was last seen in Huntsville, Alabama, and about 150 miles from where his car was found in Camden, Tennessee. Dumas' phone was last tracked on Dec. 21, heading south from Memphis, police said.

I’m curious to see if there is a relationship at all or if this was random. It looks like the two men are from northern Mississippi where that 450 acre search area is and more than 200 miles from Huntsville, but at least one of the women is from Huntsville.

If they abducted him to syphon his BAs then hopefully he is still alive and restrained somewhere. So they use the women to trick a man in going somewhere because you usually have less guards on with women, then the men take over ?
I would say he was specifically targeted, he is well known in the area
There are many known cases of people kidnapped and forced into moving sums of money or withdrawing them.
Just a possibility

James Andrews is the Dumas’ family investigator. He contacted the family at the beginning of the search and said he had been doing the groundwork for this investigation for some time.

Andrews was the one who found the footage of where Dumas was last seen at a liquor store in Huntsville on Dec. 15, 2024.

Andrews said he talks to people who may not want to talk to police. Andrews adds that the Huntsville Police Department is doing everything in its power right now to bring Dumas home.

“I do think that HPD is doing absolutely everything that can be done on the case,” Andrews said. " Just from everybody that I have talked to — they are working this case like crazy."

IMO, the most positive development in this case is "U.S. Marshal’s Task Force."

These five have family, friends, and with that kind of criminal history, they no doubt have some enemies. Someone will turn on them. MOO

The private investigator said he’s been contacted by people from Alabama, Tennessee, and as far away as California and Connecticut about this case.

He said every day another person comes forward or calls with a tip. Although that hasn’t led them to Dumas, he knows someone out there has the answer.

What does syphon his BAs mean?

Andrews is a former cop and really knows his stuff so I was glad to hear in the news interview that he thinks HPD is doing what they can, but that can’t mean much to Ronnie’s family right now. The saying “Why do bad things happen to good people” definitely applies here, Ronnie is a good man and his family are salt of the earth people. It’s just not fair.

The Huntsville Police Department confirmed to News 19 that Chambers was reported missing before the warrants were issued in the Ronald Dumas Jr. case.

Ms. Rosa Hardy, Sabrina’s grandmother, said her granddaughter is autistic and suffers from bipolar disorder. She fears Sabrina’s inability to think for herself has gotten her mixed up with the wrong people.

“So here I am, what do I do, what do I do,” said Hardy. “I did everything I could possibly do for Sabrina, and Sabrina did not get the proper help.”

Hardy said the last time she heard from Chambers was on January 17.

She declined to share what the conversation was about. She also declined to speak about the case at all.

According to Shelby County, Tenn. court records, White is due in court Thursday in a prior kidnapping and assault case.

News 19’s sister station WREG in Memphis reported at that time that White and another suspect in the Dumas case, Clark, were arrested after Memphis police said they kidnapped a mother and her child and began sex trafficking the mother.
