fla*mom, you did exactly the right thing. I hope they leave you alone now.

The 'smirk' he left with doesn't surprise me - everyone associated with that defense team has that expression mastered and they wear them proudly.

I believe in the justice system and a defendant's right to a vigorous defense. BUT, the fact that there are no restrictions - that anyone who ever searched for Caylee by simply walking down Suburban Dr. is fair game is just wrong. This whole thing makes my blood boil. :furious:

I agree beach,

Defense is playing games with this! The 32 were those within 50 yards of the site where the remains were found... :banghead:
Yup...you're right. Caylee was not found ON the road. This is ridiculous. Does that mean anyone who was driving by can be questioned? I assume fla*mom is included in the new "expanded" list. What a complete waste of time (IMO).

That about sums that up for sure.

I would write down everything that was said while the investigator was there , while it is fresh in your mind and keep it in a file .Also the date and what time he got there and left . I myself don't trust anyone on the biaz team or anyone associated with them .IMO

Thanks I will. It is kind of interesting who they sent to talk to me. After a little looking around about the name. I am quite shocked who it was.

Those here that are really up on all the players might know who it was.

Can you give us initials?

Or give us a link to a document in this case which mentions the investigator?

Was it the defense investigator who has a similar last name to the DP lawyer who recently left the case?

Was it Dominic C?????

Yep has the same sounding last name as DP lawyer.

Jeremy Lyons. (Jeremiah I guess)

Just saying good thing I didn't know who he was. I just thought he was just from PI's R us. guess he is not.

Yup! same defense investigator who interviewed the Marinator who caused Judge S. to step down, and same P.I. who investigated George and his non-suicide attempt.

Not to cause concern, but psychic Gale SJ said that this P.I. was calling her constantly and really pressuring her to make statements that would help the defense.

You (fla mom) and any other searchers, are under NO legal obligation to talk to the P.I. at all - period.
You have every legal right to say you will not speak to the P.I..

And he had a smirk on his face when you answered the questions. How very unprofessional. That surprises me, well, maybe not. Certainly no one who would be totally objective. Given what has happened with other's he has questioned in this case I would be writing everything down, date, time, etc. just to protect myself. I thought they might use law students as JB has in the past at no cost, and then send out the investigator if there was something they could use. Interested in seeing this bill. jmo

ThinkTank is correct. When my husband was a PI people would just blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And he said they were under no obligation to talk to him.

Not that it makes a hill of beans difference, the guy is good at getting you to talk. Very personable.

I was making soup at the time and when he was leaving he said "Oh, next time I come I will be here later in the day so the soup will be done.

Chatted about how he was retired New York cop/detective and was very good at it. (Good at getting a person to feel like you could talk to him. He just didn't know I had nothing to give him.)

You do NOT have to talk to him. If you had a lawyer on retainer, I am sure your lawyer would advise you NOT to talk to him again.

He sounds sneaky and underhanded to me .I guess that is normal considering who he works for .

Interesting...as this is exactly what Marinade Dave pointed out in his blog when he felt like Jermiah Lyons "tricked him"....

Tried to find that blog to link back but MD has moved to another site and not all previous blogs available....

He was only smirky after he was out the door and talked about the list. Inside he was really nice. I could see, like your dh said that people could just blah, blah, blah, they are good at what they do, get people to talk. I guess if the person was not careful and not aware of what the objective of the PI was you could say something you might regret or it could get twisted around.

For sure he did not say "you don't have to talk to me you know. you can just slam the door in my face if you want."

Now there is a profound statement if I ever heard one. He'd better be good at it or he would have never made detective. LOL It's their job and they are suppose to investigate crimes. You don't find out what happened interviewing people if you are shy. "Charming the birds from the trees" comes to mind. That would have been my husband. He could get information from anyone, including me. jmo

Beware of soft shoe shufflers
MD's blog article - excerpts:
April 17, 2010

"When private investigator Jerry Lyons came calling last Sunday, I had no idea of the tack the defense would ultimately take. The guy was as smooth as butter. To be truthful, he was exactly like a car salesman who loads you up with all the options without you knowing it and before long, you pay a huge price. First, he plied me with compliments about my blog. Then, he asked me whether Casey could get a fair trial in Orlando. He questioned my friendship with police, especially Sgt. John Allen of OCSO. He segued into the judge and before I knew what he was doing, he got me to talk. Mind you, as soon as I realized what he was up to, I told him the defense would be stupid, stupid, stupid for going after Judge Strickland and I stopped. But it was too late."

"Between you and me, Jerry Lyons said that John Allen is a bad cop. He’s got a ridiculous track record and he makes all police look bad. He’s dishonest and a liar. Did I agree with his sleazy critique? Of course not, and this is how he tricked me into opening up, by hitting below the belt and getting me to defend his targets, but there’s nowhere in that motion that any part of this conversation took place. Clearly, it was a pick and choose edit intended to do one thing and one thing only: nail the judge to a cross. How naive I was......"

I hope he does not think that he got to me!! I don't think I came off scared or anything. If he came back or called that would be overkill for sure. I had nothing on the first call, nothing on the visit.

My story is not going to change.

I listened to a youtube thing Gail St. John did back in Aug 2010 and she said he called her 2times a day asking the same thing over and over. She said all I can say is the truth. No matter how you ask.
