Sounds to me like she was so loud you couldn't help but hear.

That's true. The article did say she was more or less screaming. Anyone could have heard her and called TMZ.

What I found most immediately alarming with the reported conversations, is that she thinks she's getting out tonight. It's going to a long night on the psych ward if that's the case.

CarpeDiem,
I hope they give her a strong sedative.
Then again if Brit is truly bipolar, they may have to administer a major dosage sleeping med to get her to rest. When some bi-polar people are manic, they can go on and on like the Energizer Bunny. lol

(My loved one who is bipolar was up for 5 days straight:doh: before being diagnosed and receiving the sleeping pill that worked..)

Pfffft you can't even get a perscription for sleeping tablets for that here. My other half has been awake from thursday to thursday at his longest and his doctor would not give him anything.

no way.
How do you deal with it?
You have my blessings hon.

Hi Pepperoni! Welcome to WS. I agree with everything you wrote as I've seen this happen in my own family.

It's difficult enough to get through this (if you ever get through it) living a "typical" life, let alone one where everyone reports on your every move.

Absolutley! I told my hubby the other night that if I'd been followed by camera's while manic, I'd have had our son taken from us many times! Poor kid would probably be a ward of the state!

And i'm with someone who has Bi-Polar and he is the same useless arehole on drugs as he was without. You would have no idea how much like Britney he is like.

Then he isn't on the proper medications.

I agree CD, but while she's on a 72 hour hold doesn't she have the right to refuse medication? Hopefully she'll get something to calm her down.

Plus you have to have really good insurance to cover all the specialists and prescriptions and hospitalizations. It truly sucks. At least Britney has all that, or at least the money to do all that.

If a persons mental illness is honestly disabling, they are eligible for social security disability which can help pay for prescriptions but otherwise you are sooo right!!

My Bipolar meds cost over $1,300 a month and I only take 3 different prescriptions!!

I think there are still ways she can be medicated while there for 72 hours. I just found this that answers a lot of questions, I need to read more though:

http://www.fresnohumanservices.org/ManagedCare/ConsumerAccess/5150FAQ.htm#P68_5301http://www.fresnohumanservices.org/ManagedCare/ConsumerAccess/5150FAQ.htm#P68_5301

From above link:

If you are being detained against your will under Welfare and Institutions Code, Section 5150 (72 hours), 5250 (14 days), 5260 (additional 14 days) or 5270.15 (additional 30 days) you have the right to refuse treatment with *antipsychotic medication. However, you may be treated with antipsychotic medication over your objection in the case of an *emergency or upon a determination that you do not have the capacity to refuse treatment, in a capacity hearing held for this purpose.

. . .

*ANTI PSYCHOTIC MEDICATION - any medication customarily prescribed for the treatment of symptoms of psychoses and the severe mental and emotional disorders.

*EMERGENCY - a situation in which an action to impose treatment over the person's objection is immediately necessary for the preservation of life or the prevention of serious bodily harm to the patient or others, and it is impracticable to first gain consent.

I TOTALLY agree with that! Someone earlier said that Kevin don't work and he lives off of Britney's money well Kevin does work. He does alot of tv shows. He is like the guest star in quite a few good shows actually..

The attorneys fees that she is required to pay to Kevin's attorneys are because of situations that SHE CAUSED. He should not be required to fight for the safety of the couple's children and spend hundreds of thousands of dollars when she is the one making the children unsafe in the first place. This would be the same for you or I, so while I can sympathize with your obvious dislike for the man, the law is the law, so don't blame him.

I also wanted to say that I am glad her dad will be the one in charge of stuff around here! Í don't want to bash her mother but.. yeah. I hope Britney gets well and so she can move on to having a great future & watch her children grow. I have a feeling though once she is out of the hospital she will go back to her old ways and she will go back to them with a vengence because she is p*ssed. Glad Lufti is out of her life I am still trying to figure out where he came from to begin with. That other goofy looking almost 40 year old man Adnan needs to be removed as well..

I dont know about in CA but in CT where I was held several times on 72 hr holds and 14 day papers, we were allowed to have clothing and ouside foods brought in. There were "community phones" in the hallways that we could make collect calls from and recieve calls on between groups, 1 on 1's and classes. We also had a washer and dryer to do our laundry and we could even move up to having smoke breaks outside, etc. but it all had to be earned!!

You are right, meds can't be forced.. BUT if you refuse them you will be held back. You will have to stay in a hospital gown while everyone else is in street clothes. All the other smokers are going outside to smoke and you have to stay in!

Most of the time the newbies fight it until they realize the only one they are pissing off is themselves. Also, the ones who have been in before know that if they take the meds they can get away with sleeping through groups and not get in trouble for it, they just say the medicine was too strong for them and knocked 'em out!

Most of us do end up, after a day or two, taking the meds, if for no other reason to sleep through as much of the hospitalization as possible!

I seriously doubt Britney was allowed to make a scene like the article states. If a person gets to yelling on the phones they are taken from the common areas ASAP so as to not disrupt and upset everyone else. Crazy people are easy to get going on their own tangents, something like what the article claims happened is a major trigger!

One last thing- Though Anti-Psychotics are known for some pretty lousy side-effects, they work great in helping to end and ward off Mania's. If for no other reason they will knock you out to stop the mania in it's tracks. Although it does not work 100% of the time it does work often and is worth trying IMO

Hi OLG, I hope she takes the meds and they work.

Pfffffffffft try telling his doctor that....... his doctor belives his 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 hook line and sinker that Valproate has made a difference, even though ive outlined that he has not been sleeping, threatening to hurt himself (to get attention most probably) and sleeping all day and generaly displaying arsehole type behaviour. His also been told my a nameless IMVU Bi-Polar support group that he does not need medication and infact i'm the main cause and root of all his problems (even though his been harming himself since he was a teenager and before i ever met him) and that all carers are killjoys and basicly there to inhibit his lifestyle and make him conform. As you can see ive got an uphill battle.

That's assuming one wants to take meds and want to change...... many Bi-Polar suffers don't want help and like living the way they do.

Mr. Lutfi is still on a tongue wagging spree... what he doesn't get is that he is showing just how manipulative he was trying to be in keeping Britney pissed at her family. Mr. Svengali, meet the door:

*snipped from an interview with US Magazine... in Lutfi's words:

“They show up to the house like hillbillies, texting me,” Lutfi continued. “I find out that they’re outside, and they go, ‘You better let me in the gate, you ass.’ So I go, to Britney, ‘Your parents are here, let them come in and yell at you and scream at you. If anything else goes on, I'll throw you in my car and take you out of here.’ She said, ‘OK, fine, baby."

Sam can keep talking... at this rate, he is giving the Spears the direct ammo they need to further their cause in why they need to keep that man out of Britney's life. By his own words, he was convincing Britney that her parents were there to scream and yell at her.

If the past is a window to the future, I ponder how long before he starts harassing and sending threats of physicality to the Spears.

Anti-seizure medications, like Trileptal, are being prescribed more and more as mood stabilizers, and with very good effectiveness. And there is a new medication now specifically for bi-polar/manic-depression. In the old days, it used to just be Lithium, along with all the blood tests that followed.
