I don't think the children deserve to be treated as "hostages", shunned for her to spend time courting the paps, and be subjected to her obvious lack of sanity. They are fine where they are and while it still is amazing to find that KFed now looks like father of the year...he is doing what it takes to keep the children and not parade them around unsafely. More power to him!

Children need stability and consistency; something she doesn't provide. Let her come for supervised visits; then go play with her little friends. Did she ever take or complete parenting classes?

She does not know how to provide a loving home for growing children. IMO

I really wish Brit's parents would have her involuntarily committed. Not the 96 hour Baker act hold, but a long-term treatment.

All of this is reminding me of Howard K. Stern and Anna Nicole. I certainly hope Brit does not end up dead.

Our morning news reported that she was trying to get pregnant and she is wearing a new ring.

If she does give birth, does the court have the right to order the baby taken away immediately after birth if she has been deemed legally to be an unfit mother??? Anybody know???

I have never ever heard of this happen. We read stories every day where mothers who are more dangerous to children than Britney keep having more and more children and those kids don't get taken away.

In theory, the Court can do what it wants if it is petitioned to do so and the law supports its stance. I've heard of cases where babies who were born addicted to a chemical were taken from their mothers.

I just don't see anything like this happening if Britney has another child - but I don't believe she's pregnant or planning to get that way, so it's probably a moot point.

Ok I have been kinda feeling sorry for her up until now...but it's rapidly leaving...instead of making a scene for the paps she needs to be concentrating on those babies and what all this crap is doing to them...maybe Brit thinks they are too young to be affected by all this but they AREN'T.
She doesn't seem to be putting forth ANY effort to do right by them. Disgusting.

I wonder if she is not mentally ill, but a case of "stunted growth". She stayed at age 12, and never went further.

I suspect a part of Britney feels completely defeated in her failure and her chaos. I think there can come a point when - mentally ill or not, immature or not, doing dope or not - a person can just give up.

In any event, I feel certain that her actions are directed by many different factors. I don't for a second think she doesn't love her children; she just doesn't have a clue how to be a mother and how to begin straighten out this mess.

Perhaps deep down she knows they are better off without her right now and she is actually protecting them by making certain they don't hang out in her vortex.

Hey SCM...I know that "giving up feeling" all to well...and you are so right about it. Especially when I came off of drugs, nothing seemed worth it...EXCEPT my kids...they are the ONLY thing that has kept me going for 6 or 7 yrs now...
You could be right about her feeling they are better off w/o her though. They may be (right now) but I know from experience kids NEED their mom...yes their dad too, but from what I have seen kids (especially small kids) need their mom more so....I hope Brit will soon wake up and realize this....life is hard and rough and drugs help ease the pain....but when the drugs wear off and you realize how badly your kids needed you and how badly you let them down...well there is nothing in the world (IMO) that can't take THAT pain away.

Just thinking back to how I would have felt when I had small babies; sure I was overwhelmed but I couldn't have stood to be separated from them. Only I could care for my babies and I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to for long. The mother/baby bond should be very strong.

I guess people have different ways of giving up, but usually that's depression and lying around, having no energy. I guess getting a new boyfriend and running off to Mexico is just another "escape".

Surely if you cared about the babies, you would appear upset, and express an interest in doing what it takes to regain time with them.

DS, with all due respect, Madonna has at least lived in Britain. Brittney has no ties other than her name.
