sheesh, no one saw the red flags!

http://truthdive.com/2013/05/12/Bass-player-Ariel-Castro-turns-out-to-be-sexual-predator.html

Bandleader Ignacio Miranda, who has played alongside Castro between 2008 and 201 (sic), said that during the rehearsals at Castro’s house, the latter was rigid and aggressive as to not letting him use the toilet or check the house interiors...

DeJesus’s cousins Alexis Ruiz, Noel Ruiz and Anibal Calani Ruiz ... had also come to Castro’s house and expressed concerns about DeJesus’s sudden disappearance, asking Miranda if they thought she was alive, to which Castro retorted that maybe she is.

Castro went to school with Gina's father, also knew Gina's mother.

Ok, I'm starting to think Arlene is clearly hiding a lot of information. She went on national tv last week and said this, in the meantime we have read family members' reports as well as police and court records of domestic violence for many, many years!
___

Arlene said that, as a child, she never saw any sign of the abuse, sexual assault and other tortures that Castro is accused of meting out on the women.

“No, never,” she said, denying she grew up in a violent household.

While it's possible Arlene could be hiding something, it's also possible that this contradiction may be from shoddy reporting, as there have already been a lot of inconsistencies reported. I think the only thing we can do right now regarding Arlene is sit back and wait - if she knew more than what she said, the police will find it out. However, given all the inconsistencies that we've seen with the reporting so far, I think it's possible her statements have not been reported accurately.

It sounds like someone was concerned that the media is making the women sound like they look "weird" with the facial reconstruction comments. So I just wanted to say, that my husband had a work accident last summer where he had to have reconstructive surgery, and he looked exactly the same (well, except his face was swollen). I remember that when I got the call, I imagined his face caved in or something, and it wasn't like that at all. So if Michelle did need reconstructive surgery, that doesn't mean she'd look any different from the outside.

Regarding Arlene Castro, I don't think she was lying. I really, really think she meant that she never saw anything related to what he's accused of, in regards to the three women.

Interesting about the "RIP" being about a dog. But there's still that detail that was reported about Michelle seeing another woman there when she first was abducted.

Last week the RIP was about (Rest In Peace) and a woman's name. Now they are thinking the woman's name was the dog's name?

Last week:

http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2013/05/cleveland-amanda-berry-ariel-castro-2/

Another woman’s name was written on the wall in the basement of Castro’s home, with the inscription R.I.P. (Rest In Peace) next to it, according to Cleveland’s Fox 8. “There’s a woman’s name which would lead you to believe that another woman was in there at some time.”

Yeah, but the dog could have had a woman's name.

  • #266
Facial reconstruction could be anything, repairing a broken nose?

How on earth did Amanda take care of her little girl when he chained the women up? This is so horrible!

Yes, and what that little girl must have seen since the time she was born! Its heartwrenching to think that she would consider it normal. Unless Castro kept her in another room all the time, which I don't think has been mentioned?

Yeah, but the dog could have had a woman's name.

It was reported that bones from a dog were dug up in the back yard, so that would seem to be the case.

The rumor that Michele said another woman was there at the time she was abducted seems to be false. LE has said there is nothing to indicate there were any more victims.

It was Michelle's grandmother who confirmed Michelle needed reconstructive surgery.

"Michelle Knight's grandmother, Deborah Knight, confirmed the information, telling WOIO-TV Thursday: "When she was severely beaten, he had beat her so bad in the face, she has to have facial reconstruction, and she's lost hearing in one ear.""

At this time, I wouldn't believe any thing that comes from the Knight family.

Today's news report from Cleveland from yours truly:

New website for missing in Cuyahoga County:

http://www.cleveland.com/cuyahoga-c...s_new_initiative_to_find_missing_persons.html

This article talks about the Angelo's Pizza fundraiser that was held today:

http://www.clevescene.com/scene-and...s-pizza-to-donate-sales-to-rescued-girls-fund

All I can say is it was crazy, but good. (I wasn't there :( ) But friends who were there in the daytime tweeted pics from the dining room and from behind the counter...their phone lines were jammed and you couldn't get near the place in the evening. It looks to have been very successful.

The article says that Angelo's delivered pizzas to both the Dejesus and Barry families yesterday as well - AND they announced today that Amanda (and daughter), Gina, Michelle, and their immediate families get free Angelo's pizza - for LIFE.

We're not so naive here that we think that all of this outpouring of love and money will just magicallly make the horrors of the last 10 years go away, but I think if there is anything at all that can be done for these families, even just on the level of moral support and community solidarity, it is being done, and for that I'm grateful.

From the above article

"In addition, Angelo's employees are donating their personal hourly pay to help these individuals rebuild their lives. "

That's an awesome gesture!

During their time locked – and sometimes chained – inside Castro's squalid 1,400-sq.-ft house, Gina and Michelle spent the most time together. They occupied the upper floor; Amanda and her child Jocelyn were kept separately.

___

Other reports said that Amanda Berry was saved from the worst of the abuse because she was a favorite of Castro's.

I'm thinking she's in major denial. Or was.

Arlene was only 4 or 5 when her parents separated, maybe she doesn't have memories of it. But she must have heard about it from siblings and other family members.

A lot of dogs are given regular women names - Sadie, Molly, etc..so it's very possible it's related to a dog although why write RIP in the basement? odd

Anthony Castro did report that his baby sister was over protected and they weren't even allowed to touch her, so it IS possible that he kept his temper in front of her and/or she doesn't remember it.

Nothing much new, but here is a video interview with the cops who rescued them.

The same reason prisoners write stuff on prison walls everywhere. :(

To be fair she didn't exactly camp out at the police station for information - wonder how often she called THEM to keep them investigating and on the case. They didn't even know if she was still missing because no one was advocating for her apparently :stormingmad:
It works both ways. A parent that doesn't follow up on a child's (even an adult) disappearance should, at the very least, raise suspicion and awareness on LE's part.

Very powerful video. Thanks for posting it. I read some of what they said but had not seen the video

I posted a link that said the police should have gone to the house.
