The theory she could have been taken to be forced to be a mule is about the only other theory besides sex trafficking that makes sense to me. That and of course raped and killed right away which is a sad but possible option.

I could see where maybe some serious drug runners would want a tourist to be a mule for something like that.

She may have been taken against her will for something along those lines.

I have a friend whose 16 year old daughter "went missing" from a "secure room" on the boat. It was supposed to be a party/dance place for teenagers with no drinking and highly supervised. They could not leave the room until their parent came for them. When her parents came to pick her up, she was not there. They searched with very little help from the crew for 2 hours until they finally found her passed out in a hallway just outside a door labeled "employees only beyond this point". She did not know what happened to her and couldn't tell anyone what happened. She was not a drinker then and to this day does not drink and she is 26 years old.

Cruise lines scare the he$$ out of me!

Employee and cruisers aren’t background checked before getting on the ship. That is so frightening what happened to her!!!

My daughter and I are cruising next month and I admit I am more worried than usual about her safety. We are with a group of mothers and daughters.

Shady, shady, shady stuff goes on beyond those crew quarters doors. Let me assure you of that!

Yes it does.....and I think it was a Royal Carribean Cruise also. They had a reporter from Florida call them several years later wanting to interview them because they were doing a report on sex crimes on cruise lines. They declined!

Yes, yes, yes and yes.

We have a good friend who has worked on a lot of cruise lines as an entertainer. His wife is a singer/dancer and he is a comic/musician. They have worked the cruise circuit for about 20 years.

They warned us several times about our kids safety if they went on cruises as teens or young adults. It is quite a custom here in LA for teens to go on cruises to Cancun for spring break or for group Birthday Parties. Parents will get together in a small group and take several teens on a lovely cruise vacation. Or the 18 yr olds go on their own in small groups. Little do they know about the possible dangers lurking within the 'helpful' crew.

Our friends told us very frightening stories about teens and young adults, male and female, being befriended by crew. They will slip them alcohol or drugs, and sometimes invite them to private parties---which end up being just one or 2 crew members, drugging and assaulting the victim.

The victim usually ends up passed out in a remote stairwell, and has no memory of what happened. My friends said that they have seen crew being fired in the middle of a cruise because sometimes bad things are caught on video. But the cruise lines do not make that info public--it is done hush hush.

My daughter was angry at us a couple of times when we wouldn't let her go on these 'spring break trips' when she was 15. She was too young and I knew she was too trusting at that age. But something happened to one of her friends on the cruise so my daughter finally understood why we were saying no. Her friend was 'roofied' and found passed out in a hallway. And she had no memory of how, except she did meet up with 2 guys in the band earlier. But they acted like they had never seen her before...right...

I don't want to badmouth all cruise employees. I know there are many honorable, hard working staff. Just want people to know that some are potentially dangerous, and not totally trustworthy. Like in any group of employees.

I agree. And his bandmates that he gave the "thumbs up" sign to after being interviewed on the ship by LE. Somebody knows something.

I believe on “Disappeared” they said Amy was deathly afraid of the open ocean and her family had to convince her to go on the cruise. I need to watch the episode again and dig up the old “Vanished” episode that I haven’t seen in years.

That’s what I remember as well, that she had a fear of the ocean, and was reluctant to go on the cruise. :(

It is their initial and immediate reaction that tells me they had reason to to think she did not go overboard. Something else was up. If she made it off that ship alive it is reasonable that she could have been alive for years after. I don’t think we have all the information.

I remember from one of the articles or shows I watched that Amy’s mother said there was a man watching Amy for several days on the ship. Does anyone else remember that? Was this from Chris Fenwick’s page, or maybe from one of the Vanished episodes ? I guess when I have time I’ll have to go back and do a review of the material as my memory seems to be failing me. Well it has been a few years. :)
I’m just wondering if Amy and her family had gotten enough bad vibes from someone on the ship, whether it was the band or crew members, or the man allegedly watching her, that caused them to panic so soon. Well, Amy did tell her family that they were “creepy”. That, and maybe it was just out of character for Amy to disappear like that.

As the mother of a child with severe anxiety, I can see a situation where if that son went missing I might be worried early on that he jumped.

(He has been level for over a year now! But there was certainly a time where my first thought would have been suicide if he went missing off a ship)

Also, didn't Iva say that although Amy was a strong swimmer, she had reservations about the trip?

Sorry, just saw your post after I posted up thread. I need to go back to Vanished too.

Yes, didn't they ask Amy to come with to a bar in Aruba? And she didn't want to go?... Maybe she even said something along the lines of they were creepy?... I really do need to watch the Vanished episode. (Also, wasn't the bar in question some connection to Natalee Holloway's disappearance? - Might be getting that wrong).

The last person seen with Amy during the early hours of that morning was a cruise ship band member, known as ‘Yellow’ from a group called ‘Blue Orchid.’ There were other crewmembers that had also had contact with Amy during the cruise… a girl who worked in the casino, and three cruise ship waiters who were stationed at our dining table. The waiters were very over-attentive towards Amy from the moment they met her. After dinner one evening, one of the waiters approached us while we were visiting with associates with whom we had been traveling and asked for Amy by name. The waiter stated ‘they’ wanted to take Amy to Carlos and Charlie’s while docked in Aruba. When Amy and her brother, Brad, met with us a short time later, we told Amy about the waiter who had asked for her by name. She responded, “I wouldn’t go and do anything with any of those crewmembers. They give me the creeps.” While docked in Aruba, Amy and her brother did not leave the ship that evening.

That same evening, March 23rd (Monday), while docked in Aruba, all four of us attended a party on the upper deck, where the band was playing. We noticed a group of individuals, standing alongside the railing who had boarded the ship with a dance troupe, and who also were not passengers. They were not a part of the cruise! I wondered, “How could they be allowed to board a ship and just stand around watching the performance with paying passengers??” Looking back now, it seems even more dangerous to us.

During the party, Amy and I went to the 4th deck to look at the photos that had been taken after dinner that evening. ALL of Amy’s photos were missing! We asked the person in charge of the gallery where Amy’s pictures would be posted. He said he remembered placing them with the other photos taken at the same time, but acknowledged he couldn’t find them either. I asked him if he could have them redeveloped and he agreed, claiming they would be available the next day. In my possession, I still have the ticket for the redevelopment of those photos.

I edited my last post to add another paragraph which I think is important - another strange incident that preceded Amy's disappearance. In case you missed it...

First off, out of 3,000 passengers tell me how Iva knows this?
That Amy’s was the only photos missing? It’s ridiculous.

Amy likely threw her photos away. My kids do that on the cruise all the time.

There is 1/2 a floor devoted to the thousands of photos. They are
All laid out on walls and anyone can throw them away. Tell me who paid for Amy’s pictures.

3,000 passengers means there were likely at least 6,000 photos.

Iva also said the FBI never gave them any help. Iva said many things that turned out to not be true.

They offered to reprint the photos for Iva she never picked them up.

Again, these “bad vibes” weren’t bad enough at the time for them to do anything about it when it happened.

One thing that stayed with me since last year was the new FBI video update where Brad speaks. I found he sounded resigned and it was heartbreaking to hear him say something like at least the last thing he said to her was “I love you.”

If Amy was seen on the beach, or if the photos of Jaz are Amy.... then she was alive after the ship docked. I'm so confused on what is actually a confirmed sighting.

“Amy likely threw her photos away” ? Where does this even come from? She went with her to see the photos, if she’d thrown them away don’t you think she’d have told her that? SMH

Also I don’t think talking about Iva in this derogatory manner is right, she lost her daughter. She’s a victim too.

Yes it was Carlos and Charlie’s, the bar renowned for girls being served drinks laced with date rape drugs. Although it doubtfully was the only one.

Iva is absolutely a victim but she has also not always been truthful. I can cite two examples with links when I get home.
