THAT is failure to do your job. I will tar and feather. The police force is not easy to get into, and I know many who would have died for a job in that place and certainly wouldn't have turned their backs on someone simply because they were an escort, foreign, or homosexual.

~Be part of the solution~ Here's a list of the police forces in surrounding T.O area all hiring.

Interesting distinction between organized and disorganized killers re: Bruce McArthur.

Excellent article. I keep wondering what evidence TPS has in hand that convinced them and the Crown that first-degree murder charges could be upheld without bodies. It must be compelling. We likely won't find out until a trial.

I'm not aware of other serials who began their activities in their mid-60's (although they may exist, if caught) ... and I'm dreading what we may learn of his true history.

I can’t find anything in the news about this so I have no idea the accuracy or if it’s at all related.

My husband sent me a text last night that two bodies had been discovered in a vehicle in the woods near Joyceville Ontario. Apparently the bodies had been there awhile. I am waiting to hear more from him.

****Editing to add that this could be a case of Trucker chatter like the game of telephone where the story grew*****

***edited again because it does appear to be trucker quilting bee gossip. There was an accident that went into the woods****

Bruce McArthur barred from Gay Village as part of sentence for 2001 assault

Accused killer also prohibited from spending time with male prostitutes after assaulting a man with metal pipe almost 15 years ago.

OMG

Thank you so much for sharing this article!

I’ve not been posting much the last few days because I was getting overwhelmed & rather upset, but I have been trying to fill in parts of what I see as “blanks” in the timeline - such as we know it so far - and this absolutely helps.

I’m also - sadly - convinced that there may be some very unpleasant, horrific revelations/details still to come :(. The publication ban is not insignificant, IMO.

My thoughts are with the families & friends of the victims, particularly those who are still missing but have not yet been *officially* linked to Bruce McArthur.

My heart aches for them.

With multiple victims and no bodies, police are in 'uncharted territory' in McArthur case, says criminologist
By Kate McGillivray , CBC News Posted: Jan 25, 2018 7:00 AM

Snipped...
..."Serial killers target people who are easy victims, people who are in their neighbourhood, people who they may rub shoulders with at social events, and also people who are not likely to get a lot of attention from police investigations," he said.

...A 2005 FBI symposium on serial murder defined it*as "the unlawful killing of two or more victims by the same offender(s), in separate events."

Another great article, thanks tarabull! While prosecuting a case without a body may be more complex, it's certainly been done before and will be done again. LE most definitely had what they needed to lay charges, and the evidence will only grow as the investigation continues, and the searches progress.

So now we know this person has shown violence as far back as 2001, scary, sickening and worrisome.
How many before 2001?!

The 2001 assault sounds like a disorganized, anger-driven act. Perhaps this marks the start of his metamorphosis into an organized serial who is skilled at covering his tracks and his true nature? Even so, fifteen years is a long terrifying time.

This stood out to me:

McArthur was also ordered to stay at least 10 metres away from 484 Church St., the City Park Co-operative Apartments, or any address known to be the home or workplace of the victim.

<snipped by me>

The address of 484 Church St. may also be connected to the now-deceased partner of Majeed “Hamid” Kayhan, who was last seen in October 2012. A police taskforce called Project Houston was created in 2012 to look at the disappearance of Kayhan and two other men who were known to frequent Church and Wellesley.

Cameron Rennie, who has worked as a bartender at Woody’s for 24 years, said Kayhan’s partner used to live at the City Park building, and the men were regular customers at the bar.

It is also mentioned that Skanda (missing since 2010) frequented the same bar.

The sister's says he was not like this? I wonder if they interviewed the exwife?

I can’t find the link right now, but the article I saw where his sister spoke had a misleading headline IMO. She didn’t say exactly what was implied in the headline.

Media have tried to contact his ex-wife who has refused to comment.

Me thinks it would have been difficult to hide the 2001-2003 charges and convictions from BM's family members, but I suppose anything is possible.

I’m not sure about that... I think it’s quite possible they weren’t aware of it at the time.
