Well, I just got here -- I can see I missed all the action -- Wow, so many tweets, LibraStarr and Bee!!

Well, it does sound like his childhood was pretty severe. So was Jersey's.

He's not there yet, but this allegedly murdering rapist is gonna have a tuff time in prison, IMO. Too bad.

Changing the subject a bit -- I would really like to know what Holly's ex-wife testified. SMH. I wonder how he was as a roommate, STS, and a husband.

DHS Questioned in Sentencing Phase of Holly Capital Murder Trial

The trial resumed Friday with more testimony from Holly's brother Kenny Keaton, who is testifying for the defense. Keaton said holly was often beaten by his stepdad Joe Blackmon.

The defense later called a California DHS worker to the stand, who was questioned for roughly 4 hours. The worker went through 15 DHS referrals of alleged incidents that took place during Holly's childhood in Bakersfield, California.

She testified that Holly was molested approximately 30 times when he was 8 years old by an older brother. During her testimony today, Holly showed no emotion.

The defense later argued that DHS did not take any action, despite several signs that Holly's mother and step-father abused and neglected him.

In cross examination, the prosecutor claimed that some of those reports were duplicates, and some could have been bogus.

Here is what I just found

Amanda, Holly's ex-wife, told the jury that his mom, Ginger Simmons, was a bad mother.

She said their home was "filthy," and that she witnessed ginger smoking meth with his older brother.

Amanda said his mother's home was dirty and "had animal feces in it."

She said she and Holly dated dated around Jr. High and picked up again in 2011.

She told the jury a month before Jersey's death, he had cheated on her.

She said Holly was not a proficient reader or writer, and that she filled out a few job applications for him. He did not have a drivers license or a car car.

When asked about Jersey, Amanda said, "it was a privilege to have her in my home, absolutely. I loved her dearly."

i always tend to look toward the family in these matters of life versus death.......there have been exceptions over the years where i have had a steadfast opinion, but i do feel the family is usually the best judgement of final case disposition and the one that i look toward most.....

they have now stated that they will support either life without parole OR death, whatever this jury decides......therefore i will as well..........

bless these jurors as they weigh this heavy burden and carry these heart-breaking images in their heads for the rest of their days.......i don't envy them :rose:
