There was someone (sorry can't remember name) posting last night (previous thread) who appeared to have some knowledge of transport logistics and the routes/stopovers on route between Canberra and Adelaide deliveries ... a layover In Mt Gambier didn't sound far fetched...... that would explain the amount of travel backwards and forwards - could entirely depend on what delivery type. Could be a small 2 tonne van ... doesn't necessarily need to be a big rig or anything.

The more i read about this case, the more disturbing it gets.

I would love to know how poor karlie got involved with these people. I have a child that is the same age as khandles and i just can't wrap my head around karlie packing up and leaving Alice springs with bub and a car full of clothes, she wouldn't of had family support or mates.......And for what to go look for work??? It doesn't add up...... she was already getting benefits. She had to of been in contact with these people prior to leaving home. They would of promised her a place to stay and help her out ...and made it sound more enticing then her current situation. But who? was it someone she knew or could she have met someone online? A dating site? Facebook? A friend of hers described her as very shy and not very outgoing but once you got to know her she come out of her shell. Wouldn't that make it harder to make friends? I don't think these people just met her by chance through someone in Adelaide

I also believe the persons she met in SA could have already been going by fake names when Karlie got involved with them... it would of been to risky not to, Karlie wouldnt have stopped contact with everyone back home the day she headed to South Australia and i don't think money was just the Motive for taking her life. They needed her identity as well, with Karlies identity they can go under the radar if they were in hiding, rent a property in her name, open up more accounts, apply for loans. it just stinks that hey had this planned the whole time and while karlie was in there company they would of been trying to get as much information from her as they could.

filthy skum i cant wait for the police to come knocking on their door.

BBM: This thought has crossed my mind. Was Karlie invited on a camping trip to Belanglo and things went terribly wrong from there? Was she was lured there for the sole purpose of killing her, or was her murder fueled by drugs, booze etc?

I'm thinking at this stage that Karlie left Khandalyce in Adelaide with 'friends' and made the trip to Canberra with someone else but was intending to head back to Khandalyce ASAP. IMO whoever murdered Karlie and Khandalyce has connections to both Canberra and Adelaide. It wouldn't surprise me if they also have connections to Murray Bridge near Wynarka. It could be family connections, work connections or both. IMO that route between Canberra and Adelaide was often travelled by the murderer(s) and accomplices.

I've wondered if she left Khandalyce with a family group she knew & trusted, people originally from Alice too, but something has gone horribly wrong while she was in their care & everything else that's followed - Karlie's murder, the identity fraud, $$ requests to her mum - all of it, was only ever about concealing the original crime against Khandalyce & this group's connection to Karlie & Khandle's last known sightings.

I think that while ever people believed Karlie was still out there somewhere, this group thought they'd be safe, because even if Khandalyce was found & identified the finger of blame was going to be pointed at a young mother who (according to her bank accounts, govt & ph records) was alive, well & working but had never reported her murdered daughter missing.

How do we know that the person was in a wheelchair? There can't be a CCTV record from that far back. It must have been documented by a clerk.

If the person was in a wheelchair simply because of a broken foot and nothing more serious, then why document it? Perhaps it was some part of the scam; part of the identity for Karlie that this person wanted to construct?

It seems to me that if you're involved in major fraud, the last thing you would want to do would be to draw unnecessary attention to yourself. And a twenty-year old in a wheel chair is a very unusual sight. So perhaps it was part of an elaborate plan?

Apologies if I am repeating earlier ideas - trying so hard to read and keep up!

Although I didn't see it, I understand they did obtain CCTV footage and it was shown on the news.

So this was a centralised place of residence somewhere due to the banking?. Elizabeth somewhere. Does that correlate with the postcode of business? 5116? They are noth North East Adelaide. Separate addresses? Different people?

Elizabeth: https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-34.7229732,138.6920289,14z

Evaston: https://www.google.com.au/maps/plac...2!3m1!1s0x6ab9fe5f26262e9b:0x1c033657a3510b90

So they lived in Evaston, and banked in Elizabeth
I know people that live around evanston /gawler and will do all their business at elizabeth . (I live in the area) elizabeth shopping centre where the bank is is really the main hub for the northern suburbs . Theres a shopping centre closer to evanston but that one didnt have the credit union branch. ... people that live at hillbank davoren park and most of the other addresses in sth australia mentioned will all shop at either salisbury or elizabeth .

Yes if you lived in Evanston your nearest main shopping centre would be Elizabeth (I was raised in Gawler which is adjacent, and the original town Evanston is attached to). Gawler is a lot bigger now with Target etc, but it certainly didn't used to be, also there are ATM's for that credit union in Gawler, but the branch is in Elizabeth, basically if you live in Evanston and needed to do some serious shopping you would drive 20 minutes up the road to Elizabeth where you can access all the services you need in one spot.

Many of the towns around Elizabeth are largely housing trust, that would be places to the North like Munno Para, and areas to the south like Salisbury, Holden Hill etc.
I should of read your post first lol could of saved myself some writing

Meanwhile, members of the family have shared a poster on Facebook which calls for those responsible for the murders to hand themselves in.
“To the ‘COWARDS’ who know something, yes you!! Time to come forward!!!”, the poster by Walking Warriors Australia reads.
The community group campaigns for those responsible for the kidnapping of children to be brought to justice and has been active in the search for NSW toddler William Tyrrell.

The ABN was created on 01/01/2011. Maybe the perps knew that Karlie's centrelink payments would soon be cancelled (because of Khandles being due to start school). Maybe that is why the bank account (in Karlie's name) stopped being used around 2012, they moved their transactions over to an account under the business name?

By the way Charnwood in ACT seems to have been the same sort of low-rent suburb with a reputation for crime as Elizabeth etc in SA. (Just going by Google.)

So the person who had this card was a local as they followed the patterns someone with local knowledge would.

So how did they get the pin number? Or a debit card pay pass?

BBM: Logs need to be removed and carted away on Big Trucks..... Also there is a mine/quarry in that same section of forrest - also requiring trucks to ferry loads in and out.

Very true. I just can't quite picture a logging truck stopping off at Dalys Waterhole. Come to think of it, I've never seen any activity at the quarry - but that would just be wrong timing. Saw a coach on the way to the pistol club last time we went and thought that was really weird. In any case, I was thinking more along the lines of drug running, or using a truck to cover large distances like from SA to NSW. I don't picture logging trucks in that scenario, though I guess there's no reason why it couldn't be a logging truck.

Someone local to 5116 Adelaide but goes to Alice Springs, doesn't see Karlies mother? Did Karlie meet someone in ALICE. She had a ring on her engagement finger.

Someone who starts up KP Exploration & Drilling with enough business acumen to start at the business quarter. Did the accountant do this?

Did someone get finance and buy a new car? Use it to go to Canberra?

<modsnip> Many businesses want an ABN to open a credit account with their business. But how long would the credit last?
Did someone ramp up a fuel card debt, along with many other accounts?

"The house at Railway Terrace where alleged murderer Robert Joe Wagner stored dismembered bodies in barrels in the back of a 4wd in the driveway."

Pay Pass/Wave wasn't introduced until the last couple of years in Australia.

I'm also starting to wonder why the elusive suitcase man has not come forward.

Now that the Wynarka case is national, and connected to another high-profile crime, it is harder to say that he has just missed the news from SA that a suitcase was found and police want to talk to him because he's not a big TV watcher or follower of social media. I'm not in Australia but I get the impression that this story is now being covered very strongly on all fronts - please correct me if I am wrong.

Des Bray made it plain that withholding information was a serious crime. Yet suitcase man still remains silent. Even if completely innocent, he is still in the wrong for not coming forward.

This case has opened up a can of worms with regard to a whole network of serious criminal activity all over Australia. Many people could have been affected. Not to mention what befell Khandalyce herself. What kind of supposedly innocent person would put his own personal concerns above providing information to police that could be of great help?

It may be that he is 'largely irrelevant,' as Des Bray has said. But the question of his silence still bothers me.

Yep, "a whole network of serious criminal activity all over Australia"

Going back to an earlier theory that the suitcase containing the remains was dumped with some sort of malice by someone who knew its contents and wanted to cause the killer to fear discovery.

CAUTION - WILD SPECULATION AHEAD ...
Perhaps someone close to the crime decided to blackmail the murderer(s).
Perhaps they had kept the suitcase in secret for years as a sort of protection or bargaining chip.
Perhaps the murderer(s) was themself being blackmailed or living in fear (in those sorts of circles, who knows what might be possible).
Perhaps this blackmailer placed the remains inside the case and left them in an obscure place (Wynarka), then said that they would reveal the location of the suitcase when they had whatever it was they wanted.
If that occurred, then perhaps suitcase-man was wandering about trying to retrieve it.
That would explain sightings of him both before and after the suitcase was dumped on the roadside.
It would also explain why witnesses early on said the suitcase the man was carrying was large but not heavy - was it empty so it could be used to retrieve the other case?
Also, if as many speculate, the suitcase was moved a few times by innocent but curious passers-by, maybe whatever location he was given turned out to be wrong, so he kept coming back and checking other areas on foot.
Maybe this is why suitcase-man has never come forward.

As I have said loads of times, why the remains and clothing were kept and why they were dumped together has baffled me more than any other feature of this crime.

Ha!! This is why I assume there was some kind of 'vice' at play, it's not like this crew was living high on the hog is it?

Maybe Karlie just left the letter she got from the bank, letting her know what the pin was, amongst all her other papers she had that they used to take on her identity. I've done that :)
