I thought the carer was also her partner and likely father of the young boy? It is common in Australia these days for spouses and de facto partners to be the carer of a disabled person.

He is also her spouse . Its very common a few things concern me with this set up but time will tell if my hunch is right .

Yes he is, and unless he is also arrested they should be leaving with him.

Ms Passmore is at a distinct disadvantage , being unable to contact Daniel for instructions and directions.. she is winging it on her own, and you know, one's memory is often faulty over the years... of course, she has the 'carer' there for support, but I am not that sure that he is allowed in the questioning area with her, I expect he wouldn't be, so he cant really help her, even though, I presume there has been a lot of rehearsal , especially this weekend...

The longer the time goes on, the more confident I get re her involvement of the deepest nature in this repulsive series of crimes. .

Allegedly, yes. He'd probably be able to take the kids though, I'm only guessing but I think he may be officially the primary carer for the kids. I'm not sure that Hazel would qualify for her own carer but the partner probably gets parenting allowance to look after the toddler at home.

It appears from reports that his job is carer for Hazel Passmore, who is clearly disabled and needs help with her home and children. In Australia this is a legitimate and not uncommon thing, for a partner or spouse to have a carer's allowance with obligations to care for the person for much of the time.

In one of the 'egg throwing' clips from the weekend, he is heard saying in response to a reporter's question. 'I know nothing about it'. It is quite possible that he does know nothing. After all, this despicable behaviour involving 2 horrific murders, scamming money from C'link, banks, Karlie's family, is not usually what one would confide in one's nearest and dearest. And remember, he is not being questioned, that we are aware of.

I personally don't think he knows anything about this case at all. I think he's in a state of confusion and is lashing out to protect HP. However egg throwing is not a good look, especially when those eggs could have been put to better use.

Yes you can get Carer Payment - Carer Allowance or both I think a bonus is paid annually as well.
Carer Payment and Carer Allowance can provide financial assistance if you provide care everyday to someone with a disability, illness or who is frail aged.

Id say he gets both because he lives with hp . Thats over 900 a fortnight

Ms Passmore, her partner, and the other Major Crime detective had yet to leave the interview room.

At 1.40pm, Ms Passmore and her partner were seen leaving the interview room with a detective and moving further back into the secure area of the station.

none of her family... or his, for that matter, on a subject so serious, and so notorious... you would think a sister... an aunt.. . maybe she has no one in South Australia, nor does he, but even that is a bit odd.. they don't seem to have babysitters, either, or even handy neighbors.. at least, neighbors that are willing ... I wonder why?...
