She's on fire, Dr Rogers.Goooooooooooo girl..!!😊

  • #902
I envision her passing a note to Mandy: SHE IS BEING MEAN

Does Erin think she gets another go at disagreeing?
I'm surprised she isn't yelling out "OBJECTION". IMO

I can just imagine her internally SEETHING at what Dr Rogers is saying.

It's almost unbelievable that Erin would take photos of deathcaps on her scales, in her kitchen!
It really doesn't get better than that.
Bless her heart.

I generally don't talk to friends about this case, or others. When I have tried, they often haven't even heard about it, or are just not interested. And may even think I'm weird (as if!) I believe I am far from the only one of us who experiences this. But I was born wanting to know, and you are my people!

EP is also one of your people. She loved true crime. 😳

Quite ironic.

I have attached a screenshot Erin sent of some of her crime catalogue. I marked it with webslueths.com because I know there are journo's lurking in here who are ripping off our excellent info :P

One for the Australians on the forum. Are there not many traffic cameras on the round in Australia?

In the UK we notoriously have a lot, and I've seen TV programs where it was the CCTV from traffic cameras that basically led to their downfall. For instance, in one case where a husband had killed his wife, traffic cameras were able to show that he had driven in the middle of the night into the countryside and stopped in the woods for something like 2 hours. It showed step by step his exact route and which camera it had been picked up on.

Obviously, they don't have this footage for EP otherwise they would have used it. Also, it's not to say the UK's system is better and there is a lot of pushback against it. However, it would have been invaluable at times in this trial.

Not only would it have been able to identify where she went in Loch and Outrim, but also where she went after she left the hospital the first time. The prosecution almost teasingly mentioned that some of those phone towers pinged in an unexpected way again.

Known generally as speed cameras, the type and number of them varies by state.

In New South Wales (capital city is Sydney), increasingly they appear at traffic lights were they are designated as red light and speed cameras. It is also common for them to be in school zones where the speed is limited to 40 km/h at start and end of school days. In this state it is current government policy to signpost their presence (which, oddly, does not stop many people being fined for speeding past them).

We also have mobile cameras which are moved around to various 'hotspots'. Those also must be sign posted.

Those two types are not filming continuously, only when triggered by an offending vehicle.

Then there are cameras on gantries for motorways used for chasing up people whose vehicle does not 'ping' the toll charging mechanisms. Those cameras have been used by police to track wanted people.

Gantry cameras record every vehicle that passes them.

Cameras also are being used increasingly for detecting end to end speeding along motorways. Initially put in place for trucks, the government is now planning to widen that to all vehicles.

There are also now fixed position and movable unannounced (no warning signs) seat belt and mobile phone check cameras. I gather they also record every car that passes by them.

Apart from all of the above, there are lots of traffic management cameras along major roads which are monitored in real time by the roads authority. I don't know if that video is recorded -- it would require humongous storage methinks.

Also at a lot of traffic light intersections (at least in Sydney) there are cameras to detect someone holding their mobile phone while driving, which is illegal to do).

[EDIT - I notice now you did list this one. I think they must operate as a camera snapshot on a triggered event, using AI, at a guess.
I don't know of any continuous recording CCTV traffic cameras in Australia]

In rural areas where Erin lives (or maybe in past tense now), there would not be many cameras around.
I don't know about Victoria, especially rural Victoria - I did search for them, and I found that they exist just the same as in NSW but I'm not sure if they're outside Melbourne or what they look like down there. But, in NSW we have many traffic monitoring cameras that are there only to monitor traffic flow, accidents, break downs etc. They're not involved with revenue raising activities at all. You can see them on Live Traffic NSW | Traffic Cameras - there are more than what are shown on here though, around where I live they're basically every intersection. I don't know how long they keep that data for though. Probably not long enough to be useful, unfortunately

This is what I mean: (they're frequently mistaken for mobile phone detection cameras, which they are not. They look like a black box.)

Good morning! Dectechtive, I'm curious about her job history re: her personality. I assume to be an air traffic controller, you need more than your CV and a two-hour class, and it seems an odd job to do all the training for, then leaving after a short tenure. Did EP typically get gung-ho on something, then quickly lose interest? I understand if X job pays $50/hour and another X job pays $60, that job-hopping makes sense. But I'm finding it hard to understand the through line from a job like air traffic controller to local magazine editing, to thoughts of going into nursing. Especially since she'd also go on frequent cross-country camping trips with Simon in between. In your opinion, was this just the actions of someone with familial wealth who could afford to behave like this, or was she the type of person who jumped ship as soon as someone/something became unpleasant/disagreeable? I've seen this from people who have trouble getting along with other people's systems of doing things in a workplace and I'm wondering if EP was the same way.
I think it could be indicative of a very unstable sense of self. An unstable self-identity. It's common in some personality disorders. Combined with the privilege of not having to work. JMO

Ahh not the Claremont Serial Killer... I am pretty sure I joined WS for the Allison Dickie (Baden-Clay) murder, however have always followed CSK content as one of the victim's mother was my teacher and I still remember the day we found out her daughter was missing 😢

"We suggest that if she really did have diarrhoea in the bush and this was the first bathroom she had access to after that, it would take more than nine seconds," Dr Rogers tells the jury.

Certainly not Erin...!

I know that you can't base everything on body language and personally I find statement analysis quite often more accurate, but notice in this clip of Erin outside her house before she was arrested, that every time she says what good people Gail and Don were, that she shakes her head in a no motion as she says it?

Wow she's not a very good actress, totally fake. moo

14 remaining jurors, who will be whittled down to 12 to decide Patterson's fate at the end of the trial

At this point, Justice Beale calls for the lunch break in the day's proceedings.

The court's expected to resume about 2:15pm.

I'm sure it's been mentioned here before (hope this is allowed) - the 'famous' behaviour panel did a body language analysis. It is intriguing!

There's a longer one somewhere.

Erin's second visit to hospital

Dr Rogers has now turned to Erin’s second presentation to Leongatha Hospital about 9.48am.
“Her behaviour continued to be inconsistent with being as sick as she was,” she said.
Dr Rogers told the jury Erin said to staff she wanted to leave the hospital to collect her children from school, which would have been a three-hour round trip.
She rang Simon to inform him and, according to his evidence, he told her: “I’m glad you feel healthy enough to pick up the kids now.”
But Dr Rogers said Erin then realised driving three hours would not be consistent with her being sick, so she “changed her mind and agreed to Simon picking up the children”.
Nurse Cindy Munro testified that when she went to cannulate Erin to begin life-saving treatment, she resisted.
“Why would she be resistant to treatment if she was genuinely very sick?” Dr Rogers asked.
She described her reluctance to receive medical treatment as “inexplicable” unless she knew she had not eaten what her guests had eaten.
She told the jury this was another example of “incriminating conduct”.

The prosecution’s closing address will resume at 2.15pm.

Will EP's notes be called as a last-minute defence witness?

Anything is better than hearing about her bowel movements, IMO

Who will be making the closing arguments?

The prosecution and defence will both sum up their case for why the jury should find in their favour when they deliberate on their verdict.

Nanette Rogers SC is the crown prosecutor and is currently in the midst of her closing argument.

Colin Mandy SC is leading the defence team, and will make his argument afterwards.

the notes: 'my client's big feelings were hurt! also everything she said was incorrect and should be inadmissible!'

Bless her heart.

She definitely would have thought her 'friends' would never disclose this information, and it NEARLY happened. They were afraid to oppose Erin's version, due to one very coercive member in the group. Quite baffling, if you ask me. IMO
