Yes agreed, and also if she was making such a special lunch and proudly having guest over who she had never entertained before at her new house, wouldn’t it be a kind of cool thing to say she had picked wild mushrooms for the meal? Kind of a talking point right? Bit of a conversation starter. Brings opportunity to discuss flavour etc, which of course the guests did!A host has duty of care and must declare high risk ingredients like foraged mushrooms IMO. I would 100% expect this as a meal guest. The onus is on the host, not the guests.
I know that statement now is fraught with terrible images but back then before this case had happened, many people wouldn’t have known the smaller, isolated poisoning cases around the country that we now know.
