A host has duty of care and must declare high risk ingredients like foraged mushrooms IMO. I would 100% expect this as a meal guest. The onus is on the host, not the guests.
Yes agreed, and also if she was making such a special lunch and proudly having guest over who she had never entertained before at her new house, wouldn’t it be a kind of cool thing to say she had picked wild mushrooms for the meal? Kind of a talking point right? Bit of a conversation starter. Brings opportunity to discuss flavour etc, which of course the guests did!

I know that statement now is fraught with terrible images but back then before this case had happened, many people wouldn’t have known the smaller, isolated poisoning cases around the country that we now know.

Thinking about the "if innocent, she should have disclosed using foraged mushrooms to her guests" argument, if Erin's version of events is to be believed, at the time of the lunch she had no idea she had inadvertently included foraged mushrooms. (I don't believe her version of events.)
As far as I can tell, nobody is suggesting she intended to use non-poisonous foraged mushrooms in the meal - the prosecution says she deliberately added death caps, her defence claims she included dried Asian mushrooms which just happened to have home-dehydrated foraged mushrooms mixed in with them (that Erin had completely forgotten about) that just happened to be death caps.
I suspect that's why they stuck with the Asian mushroom story: to reduce culpability.

Even if she turns out to be innocent, I don't buy the idea that she didn’t know foraged mushrooms were in there. Anytime I've ever said about culpability it was in that respect.

Again regardless, the whole Asian grocer story is made up but yeh it gave some plausible deniability.

Good morning it's judge instructions day! I will not be available for some of the time today as I have a job interview but I'll be monitoring before and after that!

I've listed a few things that we've only heard from EP and have not been confirmed by anyone but her (and/or have been denied/contradicted by others or her own actions). Please feel free to add anything else or correct anything I've gotten wrong!

Eating the cake
Vomiting up the cake
Bush poo
No full set of white dessert plates
Scraping off the duxelles
Having a lie-down between hospital visits
- Loving her relatives
- Having had bulimia for years
- Wee sample at hospital containing poo
- Cancer diagnosis
- Having booked in for weight loss surgery
- Chopping up the dehydrated mushrooms before adding them to the duxelles
- Son dropping phone into the mud
- Having foraged multiple times
- Purchasing the lunch mushrooms from an Asian store
- Needing to go back home from the hospital to pack her daughter’s ballet bag and tend to the animals
- Drinking tea on the day after lunch and only a little bit of takeaway coffee

I can't wait to see what we find out today, and what the media thought was not important enough to report on

She didn’t say that but I meant in general. Though Colin Mandy did say she got out of her time on the witness stand ‘unscathed’ and ‘told the truth’.

I haven't followed diligently, but weren't the mashed potatoes shop bought? Remember thinking that was strange if you go to the trouble of making a posh main course.

The salad was homemade according to daughter. The green beans probably home cooked.
