Oh no, I've just wasted so much time!
The theory that Simon was her target, allegedly, if she is guilty, still works, whether it was before or after he put his status as separated. IMO

That is my theory too (allegedly, if she is guilty).

I think it explains her anger that he had put down 'separated' before she had fulfilled her (alleged) plan, because it would show a motive that he had no intention of reconciling, if he died after that. Hence a plan (allegedly) that would be more likely to be accepted as an accident if it wasn't just Simon who would die, because she would be lacking a motive to poison everyone.

I go back to her interview with press outside her house and her leap straight to reasons why she wouldn't kill them, I think exploiting the opportunity to have a platform, but having no intention of answering anything she was asked -

"who are some of the best people that I've ever met"
"Gail was the Mum that I didn't have"
"Gail's never been anything but good and kind to me"
"Ian and Heather were some of the best people that I've ever met, they never did anything wrong to me"
"I'm devastated, I loved them"
"[and the loss to] my own children who've lost their grandmother"

IMO, just a theory, if she is guilty.

Just curious.
Does anyone here know if sequestering the jury during deliberations is normal procedure in Victoria?

So she managed to drive to Tyabb Airport and back, with stops along the way for take away, after supposedly eating poisonous mushrooms? 🙄 The medical staff could find no proof that she was suffering from any symptoms of ingesting Death Caps.
Whereas the other 4 victims could not even drive themselves to hospital

She was on several online crime groups. I found her and her witchie friends to be bullies. She had over 20 FB profiies that I knew of. EP harassed and ridiculed other group members, she was very brave behind her keyboard. If you didn't agree with her point of view, look out. From there it split off, and I believe she had a smaller group of friends on a private group chat. My experience only.
So sounds like her smaller group of friends were pretty much “like minded” and the others that stepped back or stepped away, weren’t comfortable with her style or just sensed she wasn’t their type of online friend.

Yep and yet we are meant to believe her lies. Her story is absolutely farcical and has no grounds in reality. MOO

<modsnip>

If I cooked a meal and accidentally killed my in-laws there would be all sorts of potential ramifications. Not only would I feel guilty, shameful and mortified, I would likely face accusations from members of the family and members of the general public. It would affect dealings in every aspect of my life, my friends might doubt me and distance themselves, it might affect my work etc. In my instance, I would be concerned about physical threats. Of course this is sufficient motive to make it look like it wasn't your fault; if you can pass the blame off onto somebody else (ie Asian grocers) then many people would take that option.

That is not to say that I think that this is what happened, but I believe in being truthful about all of the evidence in this case. Even if I think she is guilty, I'm not going to pretend that people wouldn't absolutely act this way in this situation.
Erin is such a victim, isn't she? 😒

No, it's not.

Jurors go home each night during a trial and are only sequestered during the deliberation process when a judge deems it necessary.

Normally happens in high-profile cases. Or in long cases

From following this case in depth since the deaths first happened, although I agree with your idea, at the same time, honestly I don't imagine she wanted SP back. That's the strange part.

She was clearly fed up in the relationship, long since had grievances, had left SP several times when they were together, they had completely split up and were living separately. Being a devoutly religious man, maybe he wasn't willing to grant a divorce (can happen in some religions 'we're married in the eyes of god for life')? Did she want a divorce and had been told 'no', 'not yet', or 'when the children are 18'?

Was she trying to kill him because she just wanted shot of him? Maybe she perceived him as a bothersome irritant in her life who increasingly didn't do what she wanted and she had begun to feel disrespected and mocked by (not invited to 70th birthday / putting 'separated' on the tax form etc).

JMO MOO
I don’t know if that’s an accurate scenario but if it is it seems like it would make Erin petty to the extreme!

Every single point has a simple, mundane solution. For example, if she wanted out of her marriage, surely the Australian courts would allow her a divorce regardless of whether Simon agreed or not.

It was her choice to split then get back together over and over. She, from her own testimony was the instigator of those splits, not Simon. It’s almost as if she didn’t want to live with him exactly, more like wanted to control their relationship.

Then when Simon began showing signs of moving on Erin wasn’t happy with the prospect of his finding a life without her. At his choice. It also meant her relationship with his family would weaken. Gail had stopped reading Erin’s texts in the family chat group because it caused her anxiety.

IMO it sounds an awful lot like a case of “Go away! Come pay attention to me” flip-flopping. She couldn’t have it both ways. Only Erin herself knows how deeply that might have affected her and if she was angry enough to do something very bad. Best wishes to the jury sorting out so much information!

Of course she did! An innocent person with nothing to hide wouldn’t do this.

Firstly, thank you so much for everything all have added here since the start. I haven't added anything as wow no need with everything I have been reading.

Just I keep thinking about when she (I believe) went out to deliberately pick the death cap mushrooms. Giving the impression she was just on a walkabout, came across 'some' mushrooms and of course picked them.

I reckon she went armed to wear plastic/rubber gloves as she knew full well and good those DC were deathly.

She must also have worn them that day when she baked the individual beef wellingtons.

Had she not worn any gloves she would have been seriously ill surely while touching/gathering and eventually using them.

I have food intolerance to dairy, egg, chocolate and nitrate preservatives. That for some reason started when I was 64, several years ago now.

If I eat any by accident within 10 mins or so I get a violent sickening headache. If I accidently touch any of those foods, without eating them, I get the violent headache within an hour.

So with that in mind I feel she could have had the same thing happen by simply touching those DC mushrooms, with absorbing them through her skin.

But there hasn't been any word she was ill a while back, or during her preparing the said meal. She must have worn gloves.
