I wouldn’t be surprised if someone is attempting to frame EP. Beginning to think that the mushrooms she served were perfectly safe and she panicked when someone accused her of mushroom poisoning. And wondering if someone reminded the contractor of the “death wall” and suggested he contact the news. JMO.

The biggest problem I have with the theory that someone wanted to frame EP is that the culprit would have to be willing to also murder two innocent children. Some recipes such as cream soups contain mushrooms that once blended are unrecognizable so there’s no guarantee the kids wouldn’t end up poisoned too.
In fact there would be no way to control who ended up ingesting the poison so you’d have to look for someone who didn’t care who died. And had access to EP’s cupboard.

IMO if EP is innocent of poisoning her ex relatives then the most likely scenario is that she did mistakenly forage death caps and subsequently became too afraid to tell LE the truth. And as often happens one lie leads to another and before you know it you’ve made a big mess.
OTOH the red flags could be signaling guilt, in which case LE should be able to figure out why EP wanted the ex relatives dead.
I suppose there’s an outside chance she did buy the one and only package of dried death caps from an Asian market but IMO it’s not the case.
And while there have been other cases with bizarre twists I personally would eliminate the above possibilities first. All MOO

Right. Far more logical that EP is the culprit, rather that jumping through the hoops necessary to conjecture she was framed.

We don't know whether SP has admitted to the accusation that he said those words and if so whether the timing allows it to have been the reason for dumping the dehydrator. We don't know what the children have said to police--perhaps that they didn't hear anything like that but that it would have been possible for SP to murmur a few words in EP's ear. EP implied that the children heard him, but she didn't literally say so. Room to backpedal.
Her husband accused her of using a dehydrator to poison his relatives, and she dumped the dehydrator (and lied to the police about it). If she didn't use the dehydrator to poison his relatives, why would she dump it? I mean, she helpfully saved the beef Wellington for authorities to test, but not the dehydrator.
Really? If the mushrooms were prefectly safe, why are three people dead?
I don't think so.
imo the food dehydrator will be a key artefact in this case.

I keep forgetting that the only pertinent information LE has shared with the public is that:
The relatives became ill due to suspected death cap poisoning.
EP is a POI.
EP didn’t get sick (hospital did confirm a fifth person, likely EP, came in with gastric complaints).
LE retrieved a food dehydrator from a tip.
EP’s statement was not an official police statement and was released to the media before police could examine it.
Everything else has come mainly from EP herself and an anonymous friend of SP.
Deputy Police Commissioner Steendam seems miffed that EP and her lawyers released the statement to the media and deemed it unhelpful to the investigation. Hopefully that won’t affect what LE decides to share with the public going forward.

I just went and had a second look at her interview outside her house. The first time I watched it I was concentrating on watching her face and lack of tears, second time I listened, she is actually quite confident and assertive.
Ok, understood. But I can’t think of who she would need to protect.
could be if the mushroom picking was a family outing and someone accidentally picked a death cap and took it home to dry and powder and she hadnt checked what theyd picked?
