I hope the Prosecution twigs to this and makes it plain to the jury.

And I'm not sure how trying to paint SP in a poor light has any relevance to 4 people being fatally poisoned by a meal cooked by EP.
To me it looks like the defence is attempting to throw some mud Simon’s way and hoping that it sticks. Maybe trying to garner some sympathy for Erin from the jury?

But there are 10 men on the 15 person jury, so really, who’s going to be so outraged by the child support figure that they will find her not guilty of murder?

It seems like the defence don’t have much and they are reaching.

IMO

I’ve noticed a bit of a pattern in her personality where it looks like she has used health concerns to gain sympathy or manipulate people, and it’s probably worked well for her in the past— it seems she tried the same approach to bring everyone together for the special lunch, but this time Simon didn’t go along with it.

I think Simon was definitely breaking away from her control.

I think so too, and at the very least he was implementing some basic boundaries.

I do wonder if he’s still under her control in some way.

IMO

Like “she potentially killed my family but she’s right here in court with me and I’m on the stand and I better not say anything bad about her as I don’t want to make her upset.”

Meanwhile a generation of his family is literally wiped out.

Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health Dr. Todd Grande has been following this case from the USA. His recently-stated opinion of EP via his YouTube channel is:

"Self-centred, impulsive, irresponsible, insecure, desperate, vindictive, petty, sadistic, possessive, manipulative, deceptive, has a sense of entitlement and is moderately creepy".
But other than that, a very pleasant person.

That is a great point. She probably thought it would be a public health investigation and it would just dissipate after that. IMO

Yep as if she did try to poison Simon 3 times previously then nothing came of that so it may of given her false confidence.

IMO

It’s relevant because she killed his family IMO.
So being a bad husband would be a motive for EP to kill the family?

Maybe the mushroom lunch was not her first “rodeo.” She potentially had practice, and her first 3 attempts did not eventuate in what she was trying to achieve.

And a good mum, and let’s just forget about the “death wall” in the house. Good mum, though. Very caring.

Re: SP, I think he's still trying to process the loss as best he can. And assuming he is still Christian like he seems to be, as someone who is Christian himself and grew up in the church, forgiveness is a major tenet. I'm sure he feels profound grief but in a turn the other cheek sort of way he's still saying nice things about EP when most of us probably wouldn't. And maybe because she was present at the trial he was cognisant of that. So that's all not terribly surprising. And even though they separated I'd guess he still has some feelings for her at least; after all, they had tried to reconcile in the past and she is the mother of his children. IMO

I wonder if her real reason for marrying Simon in the first place was not because she truly loved him, but because she wanted to show the world (a world that didn't like her) that she too could have marriage and a family like everyone else.

What’s the ‘death wall’?

I wonder this about most murderers. I think they either don't fully think it through or don't care. The result of their actions is worth the risk to them.

Murders are usually committed either in the heat of the moment or in cold blood. Heat of the moment killings will likely involve no planning, whereas the cold blooded homicide is a planned out act.

I guess one major difference between an amateur and a professional killer is that the professional plans out the entire act in minute detail so as not to be caught.

After seeing how she responded to his message about not feeling comfortable going to the lunch, it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if he’d been dealing with emotional manipulation for a long time. It could explain why she still seems to have a bit of a hold on his emotions.

I wonder how her children feel about her now? It might be the ultimate tragedy of her life if they now hate her. Although I imagine that their father and "Uncle Ian" are teaching them to try to forgive.

To me it’s giving narcissist with borderline personality disorder and unmedicated depression. A really bad combination. IMO.

The whole area of Borderline and NPD is a complicated one. I follow Prof Sam Vaknin's channel on that. He (literally) wrote the book on the subject -- "Malignant Self Love: Narcissism Revisited".

Yes, people suffering from it are in a bad way and woe betide those near to them.

He also has two children to consider. Publicly slagging off their mother would not help their self worth or self esteem.

They must be suffering hugely already. Not only the loss of their mother (to jail) and their grandparents (in death) but the humiliation this has brought down on them during very significant years, peer-wise.

I also think that most murderers are so arrogant, so sure of themselves, that they think they can fool the police and get away with it.

I don't know why she had to drag Simon's parents into every single argument and problem, I think she was making their lives a misery - before ending them.

I think this will be all over finances, remembering her estranged husband could have been next on the casualty list, doesn't look like any love lost there

No mention of friends, acquaintances, etc. at this stage

The interest will be when we hear from lone survivor Ian Wilkinson

Did she eat some of the meal? If so, there must have been a prepared one without the mushrooms?
I think there HAD to be a separate Wellington without Death Caps because LE tested the leftovers found in EP's bin----and there were no toxins found.

So that means to me that she made a separate Wellington for her and the kids. And the leftovers that LE picked up must have been from the kid's portion of the meal. IMO

We know there was traces of Death Cap on the dehydrator. And both male victims had traces in their urine. So some of the meals were toxic. But not all of them.

To me that means it was not accidental. IMO
