Wow! I honestly didn't think they'd get there, but pleased that they took the time to get to a decision. They knew the evidence best after all.

We are all aware that you didn't think they would get there @MaxDecimus13 :D

When we found out she was charged (we all thought she was guilty before the trial because we know how unhinged she is), one of her friends tried to bully us all into supporting Erin. They also tried to character assassinate some of us in court. Can you believe that? None of us are charged with murder? They are the most immature people.

It's like a cult - and Erin was the leader.
Drink the Koolaid as they say... I assume you know the lady they filmed leaving the court saying she was her friend?

I cannot see anything coming from an attempt to have an appeal, especially after the comprehensive directions justice Beale gave to the jury and they way the trial was run.
You can be really highly intelligent and not get away with murder and you can have the best lawyer in town and not get an appeal granted.

Narcissists never quit, though.

Yes, that is her best friend and Power of Attorney.

Patterson, he said, was working for Airservices at the same time that a colleague’s food was tampered with, but no evidence could be found to substantiate the suspicion that Patterson was involved.

The colleague, the source said, discovered a blade from a pencil sharpener in a banana.

OMG!!!!!

I honestly really never had any doubt after she took the stand

Victoria Police just reported on Channel 7.
Chanel 7 news initially reported the case.

The chief detective will soon report here, on channel 7.
If others can, check channel 7.

It will take 2 hours to get her, in a prison van, to her prison.
She had been in a protection centre, as prisoners treat people who hurt children, or elderly, BADLY.

BOTH Simon and Ian Wilkinson were not present in court.

Jury members are generally exempt from being called for jury service again for three years, but on the final day of his instructions, Justice Beale offered all jurors a “dispensation” from jury duty for 15 years.

I'm glad that they get a longer interval, the evidence was brutal.

MOO

Judge thanks jurors for their service

By

After the verdicts were delivered, Supreme Court judge Christopher Beale expressed his heartfelt thanks to the jurors, telling them they had been excellent.

He said they had remained in high spirits despite the trial going on for much longer than initially thought.

Erin Patterson’s defeated legal team

By

Looking back to the moment Erin Patterson’s future behind bars was decided by the jury, her defence counsel, Colin Mandy, SC, shared a defeated look with his colleague Sophie Stafford.

He and his team are smart enough to have figured the probability of a guilty verdict IMO. Mandy did the best he could with what he had to work with.

I’m so sorry for the children. I hope Simon, his remaining family and his church and community embrace them and help them heal. I hope he’s wise enough to provide them professional help too.

“Doting mother” not at all! She’s wrecked so many lives!

and this may just be the beginning of these kinds of accounts

I agree. Before that, I was never in doubt of her guilt, but I was having some doubts about whether the prosecution met the bar for reasonable doubt.

When she took the stand, I think she showed her true nature - obnoxious, grandiose, arrogant and a disagreeable compulsive liar. IMO

She had SO much positive in her life before this crime — 2 healthy children, an actual fortune, several homes, kind family surrounding her (I understand EP didn’t think so), her own decent physical health … it astonishes me that someone would blow that up. And blow it up with premeditation and evil intent.

Prayers to Ian and Simon and the children, as well as the many other family members. For the children this is so incredibly damaging. Even though they are ‘safe’ from possible direct future physical and emotional danger from their mother, this no question will scar them for the rest of their lives. Honestly if I was their unincarcerated parent, I would consider changing their last name. I know it connects them to their deceased grandparents and also to EP whom I am sure they still love, the name Patterson will be a source of additional and wide public shame.

Patterson is their Dad's name ...

Neither did I until the defence had their go! I thought they did a decent job tbh at sewing doubt.

I'm thinking of her poor kids and of course Simon and Ian Wilkinson.
