"Erin's neighbours described her to me as a strange, at-times rude woman, who mostly kept to herself."

"At one point, Erin gave me her mobile number so we could stay in touch.
A number I would later learn belonged to the mobile phone that would become the centrepiece of her triple murder trial — the Samsung in the distinct pink case police never found."

So she gets to cosy up to paederasts and snitches and child killers for the foreseeable future. She'll certainly be surrounded by plenty of selfish, spiteful people who know how to hold a grudge. She'll either hate it or fit right in.

MOO

I hope she does not get to go back to that modern and cozy looking prison cottage that she was in up until the trial began. At least that is the impression I had of the prison cottage from MSM reports and a picture of it.

I am hoping she will be in Alcatraz style prison facilities for the next 30+ years.

I’m still thinking Rebel Wilson, she’ll need a fat suit of course, but she will have a certain … nous. A serious role for her.

I may have mentioned a surgeon that I know who spoke to me about certain operations fellow surgeons describe as being 'heroic' -- as in so risky as to be almost crazy to perform.

I guess there is likely a parallel with barristers as regards cases they agree to take on. Within legal circles I think Mandy would have scored highly for his performance on what I (a non-lawyer) would have considered to be a hopeless case.
And you can admire strategy and argument from both sides.

To make a sports analogy, sometimes a side will lose but you can have whole conversations about how well they played the game.

Mandy and his team did as well as they could with what they had. Maybe they would have actually been in with a shot of convincing at least one juror there was reasonable doubt if Erin hadn't got on the stand, but we'll never know because of our juror privacy/secrecy laws.

See my later post quoting an article in the Herald-Sun. The story is a crock.
Yes, it well may be but I do not think for one minute she would be safe in general prison population -especially now. When I looked for the article about her moved in April 2024 there were a few sources. But as you say could be fake. However, I maintain this is probably true. Some of her supporters have said she was not moved here because she was accused of tampering with food of others - which makes me more suspicious.

Yeah, she did a Chad Daybell. Paid with her real estate.

I don't feel sorry for Erin, I just hope Simon is comfortable enough financially that her kids don't suffer any more than they already are.

MOO
I read that Simon inherited a substantial sum from his parent's tragic deaths. So at least he will be able to afford their needs as they will need counselling and a good school, imo.

Hell is other people. And we know how well Erin gets on with other people. It could be the Ritz with champagne and oysters on tap and she would create drama and conflict. She can't leave and neither can they. Huis clos.

My heart goes out to Simon as he will likely always carry some guilt over that lunch and the fact he cancelled and this was done to ultimately hurt him.
He will carry a lifetime of scars, while Erin won’t give a damn in likelihood

Rebel was my thought too

They looked very hungry ;)
Maybe she has several. What will she get to wear in prison? Orange stripes, or don't we do that in Australia?

The Australian notes that Patterson's fellow inmates will include such delightful people as crime family murderer Judy Moran and sexual abuse pervert Malka Leifer, just to mention two.
I can't imagine that Judy Moran will bow down to Erin!

Bit of a walk down memory lane.

Mr Mandy reminds the jury that Erin Patterson did not have to take the stand as a witness, but chose to expose herself.

He says she did this as an innocent person.

"It's difficult to imagine where you're putting yourself under an incredible amount of scrutiny. But she made that decision," he says.

Mr Mandy tells the jury that Ms Patterson merely told the truth in the witness box, and was not trying to convince them of her case.

"You would not have had the impression that she was trying to charm you, or persuade you," he says.

Mr Mandy says his client came through the cross-examination of the prosecution "unscathed" and that her testimony was consistent.

To be clear: I am not referring to any mention of her being isolated, I refer to the claim that she worked in the prison kitchen (and therefore allegedly had the ability poison another inmate's meal). VIC Justice has denied it.

"You would not have had the impression that she was trying to charm you, or persuade you," [Mandy] says.

We can certainly put that in the understatements file.

If it hadn't been Simon and his family, it would have been someone else and his family. She was always going to have victims.

It really chilled me when asked if she loved her children, she answered, "I still love them."

That word, still, really bothered me.

Because the quiet part seemed to me to be "even though they testified".

I genuinely worried for their safety if she had been acquitted.

MOO
She is lucky if they still love her.

Her testimony was certainly consistent. She lied, prevaricated and was evasive from start to finish. Not to mention how everyone but her was lying about what she said, what she did, and what happened, from police, to medical staff, to the victims, to her husband, to her very own children.

Apparently they've been visiting her in prison. They'll know that she's guilty now...
