NOTE ..This does contain some disturbing content

The doctor who notified police about Erin Patterson has spoken for the first time since the guilty verdict, revealing the moment he realised the mushroom murderer was a “disturbed sociopathic nut bag”.

Dr Chris Webster dialled triple zero in the morning of July 31, 2023, after Patterson discharged herself from Leongatha Hospital within five minutes of being there.

“It was time for the nurse to begin observations and I was managing the other critically unwell patients,” he said.

Dr Webster vividly recalled the moments of that morning, telling The Age that he was managing the symptoms of the Wilkinsons, who were suffering from what first appeared to be regular food poisoning, until a frantic call came in from Dandenong Hospital.

This is so tragic about Heather.

There could be absolutely no doubt left that she is guilty now and I'm so relieved of the jury's verdict.

I feel for that doctor too... I'd posted a little while back that no doctor would be suspecting mushroom poisoning at that time of year. He should feel absolutely no disappointment in himself. He treated them all so well with what is one of the deadliest toxins. So sad all around

How did Mandy and co mange to successfully suppress this? From that Daily Mail article - “Police searches of her computer had found that the device had accessed a document titled A Case Study: What Doses Of Amanita phalloides And Amatoxins Are Lethal To Humans?”

Erin certainly has a good lawyer. He has earned his money, both pre-trial and during the trial.

Dr Rogers and her team, and the police, must feel a great sense of relief that Dr Rogers was able to put forward the best chronological case that she could and was able to overcome the defence from such a good lawyer.

imo

I think because with her triple-murder and attempted murder trial, there was more concrete evidence, actual CCTV footage, everything necessary basically to prosecute. I know you're asking about suppression, but my thinking is that there just wasn't enough other evidence unfortunately, and suppressing it would mean that it wouldn't prejudice this particular trial. I think so, anyway.

I believe that she did. That's why she purchased more mushrooms and meat than she needed.
And a lot more pastry/filo dough as well.

It would have gone a long way towards proof of intent though. Unlikely her children would have been doing those searches.

I remember reading somewhere yesterday, after the verdict that Dr Roger's wasn't in court for the verdict.

Do we know if that was true?? I really hope she was there.

That is why it wasn't admissable? Because there was no proof it was her that searched? I've heard before that that's what makes things like prosecuting piracy quite difficult, because its so hard to pin down to a legal standard who out of a household did a search for the file in question. But, I mean...

this is the document btw A Case Study: What Doses of Amanita phalloides and Amatoxins Are Lethal to Humans? - PubMed

mmmm so very accidental. She definitely had no clue about death caps or what they could do!

Did anyone just see the doctor on Channel 9 News talking about Erin Patterson? He didn't hold back. No wonder. He saw the in-laws dying in hospital. 😠

But they were able to use her visits to the inaturalist site? When the user was equally ambiguous?

Also thinking of Simon’s other siblings and grandchildren.
Heather and Ian have 4 children and 6 grandchildren who are also left to try and make sense of this horrific tragedy.

maybe she was logged in to an inaturalist account

I wonder the date of that search…. Before Simon’s illnesses? Or was his another witchy all natural “from scratch” toxin.

And further on date of that search & access of suppressed document — before or after photo of mushrooms on the scale?

I read that Dr Rogers wasn't there for the verdict, too. But that her team was.

Maybe this is why? But, who else would be doing such a search on a home computer?

Shame it wasn’t an article you need to log in to access, like many medical ones.
